It's been a while since I have been to Doppio Zero Chilli Lane Thankfully it still seems to be going strong. The menu has changed and has some interesting items on the menu and the usual selection of delicious and tempting desserts if you have a sweet tooth. This time however (must be the cold) I went completely veg. I ordered the Butternut Soup and the Tempura Battered Feta. I added some chilli to my soup, and the Tempura and taste of the feta was absolutely sublime. Washed down by a warm Cappuccino with cream 😋 Thanks to the waiters who assisted us between shifts, loved your sense of humour. Updated review 2022 With new upgrade definitely more easy, settle in atmosphere... Was very cold for ceilings are open and cold outside wind seeps through but the manager attended to this with heaters.... Best cut steak ..... well seared.... marrow and jue beyond delicious.. This is my absolute favorite breakfast at Doppio. The Breakfast Bowl. Crunchy veg, halloumi cheese, and soft poached eggs drizzled in a hollandaise sauce. Coffee never disappoints either. And staff are friendly.

Early dinner @doppiozerosa sunninghill 🍕 We had a drive outside our area and found this lovely restaurant. There are a few around (in fact our first date together was at a Doppio Zero). This one had some incredible decor - including flamingo wallpaper in the bathroom 😂 We ordered their most-ordered pizza, which was yum, and our waiter Bongani was so so friendly. The pizza itself took a really long time to come, especially for a quiet restaurant 😕 But overall it was a cute mini-date and we’re glad we went. Very disappointed, I am Vegan and ordered a salad at Doppio Zero clearly marked as Vegan. Upon eating this salad I realized it was made with butter and not olive oil. Manager urged me to eplicitly state that I am Vegan in future because "some people fake it" 😕. False advertising<br/><br/>

I've been going here regularly for over two years since it's close to the gym. Had an experience last night with an incredibly rude male manager.  He had absolutely no consideration for customer service. Completely ruined the experience, I won't be returning to this restaurant.

Food is generally very good, good breakfast and good salad (4/5). Fresh juices are also really good. If you looking for a good cappucino with breakfast, this is not the place. Always way to milky and weak, you'll have to ask for an extra espresso.

I understand that take aways are not the same as eating in but what we received today was something else. <br/><br/>My wife (5months pregnant had off veggies.) I ordered the fish and chips which was cooked in the oldest oil on earth which I’m assuming made it so rubbery and dry(might be overdone). It’s sad that we have to go to this extent but the owner is never there. Managers don’t care so the shop will deteriorate.I love going to the Doppie Zero in Bedford. Feels like home and you get looked after. <br/><br/>Please fix the quality of food otherwise people will stop ordering and it’s not ok as you have a great name behind you. <br/><br/>

This Doppio Zero is really not a bad area. The surroundings were great and also very covenient from the gym in Sunninghill. Nevertheless, service was very good and as for the fruit shake, it was quite refreshing. The pasta dish I tried was pretty good. The level of sauce to pasta was good and the flavours were before before i added my flavours.

Popped in for 2 quick freezo chinos. Was in a hurry and the waiter helped us speedily. I paid R90 for the 2 coffees and left. This must be the worst freezo I have ever had. My daughter wanted me to turn the car around and return but I was too angry. The freezo were ice with hmmmm no I don't think it was coffees flavour, maybe ice and watered down milk. The freezos were like warm and the worst ever. Don't think you guys will ever see me again. I think I would have better luck at McDonald's pouring the black coffee over ice.<br/>

Doppio Zero: Urged to visit this Cafe for long and finally we popped in for quick brunch. This place is nestled at the Chilli Lane shopping center and had seating arrangements spread inside out on a wide area. Their rustic interiors added to the relaxed vibe. Their menu was substantial. We ordered Spinach Pesto Penne Pasta, Crumbed Chicken Breasts with tzatziki dip with Cola tonics. Their Spinach Pesto Pasta was creamy and delicious and the Crumbed Chicken Breasts cooked to perfection with the right crunch. The food arrived quick and hot. Their staff were friendly and attentive.  Their prices are reasonable for the quantity served. <br/><br/>Overall, I would definitely go back to tickle my taste buds with other options from their elaborate menu

Food here was very nice, we had pizza and a vegetarian creamy spinach pasta. All very tasty and they have beer on tap which is nice on a hot day.<br/>This Doppio had the same problem as one we went to before though, with really slow service on the kitchen side. It took about 45 minutes before we got our food! And the Place wasn't even that busy...<br/>Staff were super friendly though and that's always a bonus.

Can someone just do us all a favor & close this place? Place is hot as hell & uncomfortable- no airconditioning. Staff pleasant & helpful- despite this they got my order wrong- ended up with the saddest looking sandwich which was shocking. The food in this restaurant is absolutely not worth it. Waste of money

Visited here for breakfast after gym one morning. Being famished I decided to go with the Barbarossa without the chorizo..my healthy significant other went for the muesli breakfast. The Barbarossa was a tad much and after my first bite I regretted it. I think something lighter would have been a better option.<br/><br/>16/02/17...decided to update my review. Headed here for breakfast last Saturday and it was pretty good. I had the poached egg with salmon on a potato rosti (half portion which was perfect for me).<br/><br/>Also forgot about the time I went by with my friends - we had awesome cocktails and I had the seafood stew with mash which was really great. <br/><br/><br/>

I usually frequent Doppio Zero Greenside and I recently wanted to try out the one in Sunninghill. Very cosy spot with a bigger smoking area. One thing that stood out the most for me was the impeccable service received, unfortunately I forgot the waiters name - I will go back again and will ask for his name, he deserves a shout out. Very passionate about his job. The food on the other hand - was great. I can never fault Doppio Zero.

Frequenting the Rosebank and Greenside branches of Doppio Zero means you're likely to expect consistently good service and food from the Doppio chain. Doppio Zero Sunninghill unfortunately does not meet these standards. It is extremely hot, uncomfortable and cramped if you choose to be seated outside. The quality of the food is also well below the Doppio Standard. If you have the choice, rather choose a different Doppio branch - if you don't, choose a different restaurant.

Dopio Zero is one of those places where you know what you are going to get. Based in Sandton City, this chill and laid back establishment serve great lunches and be sure not to miss the confectionery on the way out. The service today was less desirable as we haven't had a designated waiter and felt a bit undervalued. The food on the otherhand was fresh, tasty and very enjoyable. Maybe this was a bad day so let's hold thumbs that this is not their standard.

Best butternut ravioli in Joburg! My partner Eugene & I have tried this same dish at a couple other branches but have always been annoyingly disappointed!<br/><br/>Their pizza's are delicious and I just feel that their food taste better at this branch, maybe the staff are happier?<br/>The inside is pretty chic & clean. They have a little section at the back, if you can pretend to not see all the other fast food joints in your face, it can be pretty cute, depending on the company you're with.<br/><br/>Their waiters aren't always the friendliest so that's a minus 1<br/><br/>Best Dorpio Branch in terms of food.

Not the greatest experience. <br/><br/>We arrived, ask if we could order off the normal menu instead of the breakfast menu and we were told it was in order. The first round of food took long to get to us. Then when I ordered a burger, a while after that a man I assume is the manager came and said it would take an hour and a half for the burger as it wasn't prepped and offered me to order off the breakfast menu. It's close to 11 and I asked prior to being seated if I could order from the main menu. It was simple meals we ordered but doesn't seem like it has a simple execution. Rather disappointing actually.

The worst doppio zero I've come across!!! Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Service poor and food very disappointing. I find it hard to believe that even a simple sandwich was to difficult to get right.

What a horrible experience from top to tail. <br/><br/>The service was absolutely shocking, slow, unattentive and actually just ridiculous. <br/><br/>The food was shocking! Firstly the menu does not stipulate what you get and secondly it is sooo expensive for what you get. No value at all. <br/><br/>I ordered the potato & zuchini rosti - the menu does not stipulate the onion inside. The salmon was very fishy and my soft egg was harf. <br/><br/>We also ordered the wild mushrooms on toast - the menu stipulates parmesan & rocket which was not on the plate. It was socky and just mushroom sauce on toast for over R60. Mad. <br/><br/>The smashed avo on toast was anything but smashed. <br/><br/>Definitely wont return.

Fact Number 420 - Breakfast is directly proportional to success <br/><br/>Its true, the more time for breakfast you have in the morning the greater your success, and i don't only mean monetary success or career success, it could be personal success as well. let me break it down for you. <br/><br/>Example 1 - does everybody know what a sunrise surfer is? no? okay well they are the guys that collect all that recycled materials and surf down the roads on their trolleys  really early in the morning. now i've had the opportunity to chat to one of these guys, one morning i was stuck with a flat Tyre and well myself and lets call him Mandla, had an awesome chat and well he was happy he said he made a good amount of money everyday to provide for his family and enough to have a nice breakfast every morning during the peak traffic times. he seemed satisfied with how his life was going and thus personal success<br/><br/>Successful people normally have enough time to have a good breakfast, people that are considered successful  in their careers, normally end up with enough time to have breakfast in the morning. <br/><br/>Well for the first time in a long time, i felt successful. <br/><br/>Woke up early, got things done and then found myself at this lovely establishment. now as i walked into the venue i realised WOW this area has sooooo many successful people. Personal trainers, managers, retired couples, meetings to the left of me and friendly conversations to the right. and for some reason everyone seemed happy. <br/><br/>and that's when it hit me, breakfast is not what comes from success but what brings success itself, especially a really delicious breakfast such as the one i had here.<br/><br/>but i digress, this place is a really intimate styled cafe, it feels like Sunday morning breakfast with the family on the patio, and inside is loud with sounds of plates and conversation.<br/><br/>the service is great, friendly staff that are competent and helpful.<br/><br/>but the food, the food is the winner, i had myself a dopio breakfast, that didn't seem like alot when reading it off the menu, but when it arrived, my eyes lit up with happiness, wow what a big plate, filled with freshly prepared ingredients, from the eggs to the mushrooms everything fragrant and tasty.<br/><br/>everything else ordered on the table was just a good and the plating of the food is also great, clean and sleek, <br/><br/>if this is the type of service provided on a daily basis by this sunninghill branch i might be inclined to say they're one of the best breakfast spots in the area.

For the best breakfast in Sunninghill, pick Doppio Zero. The Doppio Breakfast always hits the spot. Sunninghill Doppio is at Chilli Lane, but it is tucked ib the corner and still has the feel of a stand alone Doppio like Greenside. For dinner, the Doppio burger with a craft beer is my recomendation. Go hungry

I can't say I have ever had a bad meal at Doppio. There are many options to choose from on the menu and they even have Jack Black on tap. This is my favorite Dippio. Pizzas and Pastas are the way to go.

Awesome place to hang out with friends for drinks, go out for date night, girls night out... it suits all types. Classy food that looks and tastes good. Meals were served promptly too.<br/><br/>Returned after a couple of years and pleasantly surprised by the much improved service and quality of meal offering. We will certainly be returning for the 'gym plate' offering. It has reduced portion sizes where one can build up their meal at incredibly economical prices. These are available throughout the day! I have included as a photo for reference.<br/><br/>The on duty manager, on Fridays is super helpful and a great host. We will certainly be back. It's worth giving a try out to see for yourself we didn't regret giving the nandos a skip this time. 😆

My previous experience at this particular doppio was dreadful a few years ago. I decided to chance it this morning and get some breaky...<br/><br/>We had the chorizo scrambled egg on toast with extra bacon and halloumi. It was a little pricey but well worth the money. They have excellent service and the quality of food was by far one of the best I have experienced.<br/><br/>Well done to the management and staff!

Wow I loved this place! Wanted a great evening out for dinner with the manfriend and decided on Doppio as it was close by yet I had never been! What an absolute delight! From the friendly, helpful staff to the delicious food and vibey atmosphere, this place is awesome! Got there a bit late, 20:30ish on a Friday night and still the place was buzzing. I don’t know how they do it – all types of food, a bakery, bar, wine cellar and still they do so well! Loved it, definitely will be back, maybe to try out a breakfast or lunch :)

Doppio Zero is a favorite of mine and it was the first time visiting Sunninghill. Very impressed with the fast and friendly service here, particularly by our waiter Shedrick. As soon as we sat down my boyfriend asked for water and it was brought within a minute and it was nice and cold. Our meals were also very quick, we surprisingly did not wait long. When Shedrick said 3 more minutes when he brought the cutlery he wasn't lying. Their milkshakes are the standard flavors and we opted for Vanilla and Chocolate. Still tasty and refreshing. The meals were good, however the portion size does not justify the price. I ordered the Jazzy Chips and Spinach and Feta Cigars while my boyfriend ordered the Pepe Pizza. They also have a good choice of craft beers - we tried the Citizens Alliance. Overall with the price aside I would recommend Doppio Zero and would go back to Sunninghill just for the friendly staff and quick service

Being greeted by a smiling, beaming, waitron Mwai will immediately dispelled my bad mood. Her fantastic personality and infectious smile may be reason enough to eat at Doppia.. It'll even forgive bad food or service. ... That however doesn't apply here either. <br/>It's a relaxed friendly environment that offers good food and service with a smile <br/><br/>My salmon rosti with extra hollandaise was perfectly cook and delicious and was devoured all too quickly.<br/><br/>Decadence seems to be the key ... Not sure how I missed reviewing this place as I have been here numerous times with my friends. We happened to meet up here for a recent catchup and were quite disappointed with the food. Usually the service and food is on point this time around everything was just bland with no taste.<br/>I ordered the jazzy chips which was suppose to be flavoured with sage, parmesan, paprika, garlic oil and a smoked paprika aoili dip it was tasteless. With that I had the salt and pepper calamari heads with hake also didn't taste like much without the tartar sauce an dip.<br/><br/>The onion rings were not bad.<br/><br/>My friends had the tempura hake with mushy mint peas and chips and the pasta gamberi which we added chilli garlic and parmesan shavings to add flavour. The veg curry was way too sweet and they said it tasted like rose water.<br/>Hopefully it was just an off day cos even my cosmopolitan didn't fix it. <br/><br/>We were all debating whether or not to purchase the lovely gingerbread house as it looked really good. But we decided against anything sweet for now.

Went for a wonderful light lunch. Had the shotgun canelloni which was a good brunch option. The chicken mayo open sandwich was not your average chicken mayo sandwich. The pesto and red onions completely took it to another level. Cappuccino was good and the banana milkshake was amazing! Great chilled vibe and attentive waiters.

Went to meet a friend in the evening for a catch up over a snack and a drink and had what was possibly the worst service I've experienced.<br/>We were the only 2 sitting on the deck area at the time and the waiter came through to take our order. After it was repeated twice and he still didn't get it he said please bear with him as he was new and can we point to it on the menu. My friend who lives in the area pointed out that she had been there a month ago and he served her, so he surely wasn't still "new".<br/>Nevertheless, 30 minutes later the manager arrived at the table and informs us that the lobster tails we ordered weren't looking great and nobody checked them before cooking and he stopped it coming out. He offered to make us seafood skewers at the same price which we declined and the manager left.<br/>A few minutes later after literally waving and trying to get any waiters attention and being completely ignored a waiter arrives and we ordered a portion of fries. 10 minutes later our original waiter comes and asks if everything is okay to which we replied no and asked for some ice and the manager. He brought the ice when the fries were ready but no sign of the manager which we asked for again.<br/>We declined another drink as we were fed up with poor service and late for other engagements so requested the bill. When the bill came we asked for a card machine and to bring it quickly as we were in a rush. After 5 minutes we decided to walk to the counter and settle where we we found our waiter with no urgency whatsoever. To finally compound this experience he didn't know how to operate it and entered "cheque" when told it was "savings" resulting in further delays.<br/>I hope this was an isolated incident, but in future I will go to one of the other establishments in the centre.

Great, attentive service. Whopper of a kiddies meal complete with healthy sides (Yay!) ! All round delicious! Pity about the hair found in the chicken strips.

Had a takeaway prawn and avo salad and a marguirita pizza. The salad was delicious for someone whose mostly a carnivore. The pizza was ok. I really struggle to find amazing pizzas in South Africa since returning from the South of France last year. Any suggestions of great pizza restaurants to blow me away will be much appreciated.

My friend suggested we met here so I agreed because I love pizzas and pastas. I ordered the ravioli with tomato based sauce and I was so disappointed with the portion size. I did not fill me up. The food itself was average. We also shared the chocolate brownie which was not worth the price. I will not be going back.

An official lunch out. Landed up here as early as 1230 PM to find the place fairly well occupied. <br/><br/>Ambiance : Very business like. The only issue would be that the sunlight falls harshly on a few tables. And we were on one of them. Post 1, the sun rays are a little more bearable. <br/><br/>We were a group of 6, and I don't quiet know what the others ordered. So, ill just review my beverage and main course here. <br/>*Mango Mamba : Bananas, Mango, Honey and Yogurt. The slight trail of honey did create some magic. It tasted beautiful. <br/>*Pollo So Forno : Baked nicely, tasted okayish. Just that the parmesan cheese overdose was not something that I was used to. And was kinda bland. Thought the basil would spice it up - I in fact did not taste any basil. A rather heavy dish. <br/><br/>Service : regular. Nothing overly nice. However. A vegetarian friend got served with a falafel that had Chicken pieces in it. Should have been avoided. <br/><br/>Cost. : can't comment much. Was rather expensive. <br/><br/>Bottom line : would like to get back to try the Tapas varieties.

My hubby and I had dinner here on Friday night for the first time. Our waiter was excellent and he looked after us well. The food is average though. It's nice without being anything amazing. There's no real wow factor to it. My hubby's pizza needed more cheese and he had to salt it as he said it tasted bland. My pasta was a decent portion and tasted nice. We did feel that their prices should be reduced by about 10% as a pizza for R98 is on the steep side. I also had a cocktail that was R57...again very steep for the type of restaurant that it is. Mmmm, I might return but not in a huge rush.

We ordered takeaway pizza. Boyf thought the one was definitely over priced, for the amount of toppings, but a nice flavour concept though. And the other one had grossly large onion chunks on it. Needless to say, haven't been back. If you're looking for a nice place to hang out, then Doppio Zero is a safe bet. <br/><br/>I have been to this one, and the one in the west, both are quite good. Very relaxed atmosphere, good wine, decent food. Surprisingly they even have craft beer! That being said, unfortunately there is nothing that makes Doppio Zero stand out, there's no "wow" factor.

We are regulars for breakfast, which is always good but tonight, due to load shedding, decided to have dinner here. Bread was served, as usual, and we ordered Merlot by the glass. I tried the new calf liver and mash. The flavours were nice, but it was soon evident that no salt - at all - had been added to both components. I must have sprinkled about five rounds of salt, which in the end, did still not seem to be enough. My partner had the rump and cauliflower mash, which also had no salt or pepper, the same scenario as above took place. Other restaurants season meat to their hearts' content. Has Doppio taken a conscious decision not to add any salt to their dishes? If so, they should warn us beforehand.

Food is always good at this Dopio - we just love their Frutti Di Mare Pizza and Chicken Schnitzel. The manager has been there for years and takes care to manage his team to provide the best for diners. The food is good and has only improved over the years. Good for a light relaxed evening for the family.

One of my favourite restaurants and I eat here regularly. Sadly we have had such bad service the three times I have been here this week... It's frustrating when you are not being served and yet there are half a dozen waiters standing chatting outside.

Food always great. My Favorite pizza is the Pollo, Kristen loves the Pepe and Charmaine the La Med. If you don't want pizza try the Lamb Shank it is awesome, for some poultry the Pollo Involtini or Pollo do San Paola are amazing. Home made Italian ice team for desert to finish the meal. Craft beer on tap that's my type of restaurant

Since the renovation this Dopppio has really upped its game. It's a great safe bet for a quick tasty meal in Sunninghill. New menu v extensive and always something for everyone.

I ate here once again with the hope that a different choice would mean a better meal. I have had the balsamic chicken wrap, a few of the tapa items, ribs, salads, beef goulash soup, chicken tramezzini and pork belly. Unfortunately none of the food here seems to make any sort of impression. Sorry guys. The tramezzini lacked mayo and i had to order a side of it. The chicken wrap i had most recently also lacked moisture. The service is good, which is probably the only good thing about this restaurant, given the high priced menu.

I'm a regular here... and not just because it's close to home and convenient. The food is good, portions generous and it's well priced. You can't go wrong with the polo Involtini for supper or the chicken prego for lunch.

I ordered a takeaway from this branch just to be told when I arrived to collect that they no longer have the soup that I ordered! They could not phone me to tell this before I drove all the way there! I use to be a regular but no more! Poor service to say the least.

Ok, ok... I did say I was going to try keep away from the franchises however... Special circumstances and all that.<br/><br/>Doppio Zero in Sunninghill recently underwent a major revamp, from a restaurant very much in the 90s to something contemporary, chic, industrial... You either love it or you hate it.. I'm the former, can get lost with wonderment in the style.<br/><br/>Now I need to stress this review is based purely on this dining experience... NOT on the restaurant as a whole.<br/>I live fairly nearby and this Doppio is a place I normally frequent for breakfast, not usually on the later meals of the day.<br/><br/>The food has kept with the times as well with options like 'extra black' which is dark chocolate ice cream, lime velvet cheesecake, craft beers being all the rage these days and Doppio has quite the assortment.<br/><br/>The mains were incredible, I had a fillet and rocket salad, followed by a mixture of the aforementioned extra black and mint gelato.<br/><br/>The service was exactly as I like, friendly, knowledgable, assertive, available when needed but never overbearing or in the way when not needed... It's a fine balance I don't often see.<br/><br/>As an experience for the evening, gets top marks...<br/>But of course I've been here several times since and can't always match expectations.<br/>Still a great restaurant... and I'll still keep going back.<br/>

Well what's there to say other than the Doppio standard, it's A grade service with A grade staff and managers, Gary, the General manager is really at the top of his game and knows it back to front...I rarely give 5's but this time... Let's run with it!!! Oh and their Gne Gne Gne pizza is like a blonde on steroids with a single espresso!!! (Just saying)

I often frequent this Doppio because im a huge fan of consistency. The variety on the menu makes it easy to return over and over. They have some of the best pizza in Sunninghill and great coffee. The kinda place you can eat out at all three meals of the day. Great decor and friendly staff. My only bad experience was the icing on the carrot cake.

I had a good experience overall, the atmosphere was enjoyable. The service was excellent and very fast. I must say my waitress was incredibly kind and effective. The food I ordered was great, but it could of been tastier. Our meals came very quick and you could see the staff was very caring. I will most probably give it a try again.

Half impressed half disappointed <br/><br/>Well got a wonderful welcome from a very friendly waitress.. As my friend and myself smoke we got seated outside (our decision in this weather) we got blankets when we sat down due to the cold weather, drinks order was taken straight away and we didn't wait long for them either.. <br/><br/>We ordered our mains which I was half amazed and half disappointed, amazed because it was so tasty, well presented and fresh I was very impressed, however the menu said TIGER PRAWNS and to my dismay they were as small as prince prawns, this plate cost me R160.00 and I was really expecting the biggest, juiciest prawns yet I got small baby prawns.. False advertising!! Anyway other than that I was very pleased when I left

I’ve visited Doppio Zero at Sunninghill a few times. The service is average in terms of speed, but generally friendly. They have seating inside and out (outside canvasses can be closed up during rainy/chilly weather) and it’s always bustling.<br/>Their dessert pancakes are delicious, and I can most definitely recommend the Summer Tuna Tortelloni (cheese-filled trotelloni with tuna, cherry tomato, red onion, chopped rocket and a caramelised tomato butter) – the perfect balance between creamy and crunchy; comfort food without too much guilt :)

I once had a birthday party here. It was rainy but we still managed to squeeze in a big group into the covered outside area and managed to stay dry. I love Doppio for their breads and gelato but I mostly end up ordering a delicious meal that is far too big to leave space for any of the baked or frozen goodies. The food selection is wide and I recommend the pasta range

Average food. Their branch in Rosebank is superior in food quality, taste and service.<br/>I have tried the Copacabana pizza which has pine nuts and feta - great combo! Their prawn, avo and paw-paw salad is refreshing on a hot summer day or night, however the second time i had this the prawn was overcooked, tasteless and rubbery.

I went to Doppio Zero on a Thursday night- a night which is not known for being busy and it was not at all.<br/><br/>The starter of mussels in a creamy white wine sauce rocked my world, it was amazing and with that in mind I ordered the slow roasted pork belly- which turned out to be slow roasted pork chops with some fat on the side, also the presentation was shocking, just looked like everything was just dumped on the plate! So not very enjoyable to be honest!<br/><br/>Another critiscm I have is the wine list, the choice of wine by the glass is a joke!

Just finishing a meal at dz Sunninghill . Unfortunately the meal I ordered 'rump, steak came without its sauce and that arrived 15 minutes after the steak which was already ice cold . The seasonal veggies were also rock hard and barely cooked ..my wife's salad was also very average.

I know that Doppio is great for pizza and pasta (I think their pizzas are especially good), but if you offer other items on the menu then you really should try to do them properly.<br/><br/>Popped in for an early supper with the family during the school holidays. It's a nice vibe and nice and warm and lots of people there, but the food wasn't great. My wife ordered the Haloumi starter. Terrible. Thin bricks of hard cheese - not appetising at all! I had the the Chicken Provencale. Menu describes it as "char-grilled deboned free range chicken thighs, spicy herbed tomato & olive sauce, parmesan".<br/><br/>I doubt that it was char-grilled, and if you say it's deboned and then cover it in sauce, it's best to debone it properly and take off the grisly bits at the end of the bone! The sauce was spicy after I added about two teaspoons of chili. As for the toasted sarmies the kids had, our snackwhich maker at home does a much better job. <br/><br/>With no alcohol, a couple of cool drinks and cappuccinos, the bill at R364 including tip for fairly average service was hefty. Much better value elsewhere.

Doppio 00 is a good franchise and offers good food. It is slightly overpriced in my opinion but at least they serve you chili, garlic and Parmesan with your pizza. If I compare this branch to the original one in Rosebank (which sadly moved into the mall) it lacks a bit of atmosphere. Nevertheless the food is very good and I don't think a person will struggle to find something they like. I like going here for the pizzas and fresh sandwiches because the bread also looks so fresh and appetizing when I walk into the restaurant.
