Update: Once again, blown out of the water with the welcoming, friendly nature of staff(Diana), but the biggest thing that keeps us coming back is the top quality, fresh, awesome food! Burgers-world class! Feta and jalapeño bombs-blown away delicious! Cheesy chips-mmmm!! Keep it up and we will keep coming back! Excellent service(ask for Thabang), good burgers, with a whole variety of toppings(create your own). Wings with BBQ let them down a bit, but the cheesy chips will keep you coming back, as will the “Death by chocolate milkshake”. Seating in and outside creates a nice vibe. New management seems committed to having clean, efficient, friendly restaurant. Definitely recommend.

I always enjoy rocco mamas and I often get the vegetarian option because it is delicious and I like to switch it up but the meat options are even better. Whenever we come here service is fast and the food is good. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual but it isn't as big as many of the other rocco mamas which isn't a bad thing. They do serve a small selection of alcohol which goes down nicely with a burger or wings.

Best takeaway / quick burger place in joburg. Really good quality food every time. Never had a problem at any rocomamas branch. Their mayo is delicious, so are the chilli cheese fries. Ordering is a really cool system where you fill in a Form with your order and then they take that. You can also call them and place an order for pickup. Fully licensed and the expected array of beers on tap (castle light, Jack Black, devil's Peak ale)

Friendly staff and our food was delicious. Our order did take slightly long to be delivered to our table and I have heard that RocoMamas in general are slow, but the food made up for the wait!

Great food! The premium burger options change often and are always great. Service is excellent, staff are friendly and fill of energy. The menu offers variety as well as the offerings include wings, ribs and much more.

Good location for a burger joint though the store itself is quite small. I wouldn't like to be there when it's busy as there is very little space to manoeuvre as it is. The food itself is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful but yea, I'd keep this particular stop to a take-away if I can help it.

I am a chef who had just knocked off a graveyard shift. I had a burger and a drink. The burger itself was quite magnificent. I thoroughly enjoyed it but the service was on another level. It was raining and gloomy but Leslie and Isabel were fantastic. I was exhausted from my job UT I walked out with a little more energy. Be careful our hotel is looking for staff of that kind😁

I really adore this restaurant. The staff are friendly and willing to help, the food is always superb, never once have I needed to ask the manager when the other half of my toppings will arrive. You get your full portion of food with a smile. It is clean, it is convenient. What else could we ask for?

I love rocomamas!! Their burgers are great in that you can get a wide variety of toppings for a very reasonable price point. They make the best shoestring fries ever! The service at Rocomamas is great and the employees are always very friendly. The seating is very family friendly and the environment is very fun and welcoming.

My best! Really nice atmosphere, staff are great. Menu is Roco Mamas, definitely good. A treat any time of the day. My hubby and I love going here and if not out we do takeaways as they have joined Uber foods.

We came here once for some wings and a milkshake, which were both really good. Rocomamas have so many delicious bar snacks and they’re very popular. Their milkshakes are thick and creamy, especially their chocolate milkshakes. We shall be back soon and I think this place is great for lunch or dinner!

Slow service and an a long waiting time for mediocre at best food. The manager did inform us that food would be long due to a grill not working, but only after we had already placed our order and had been waiting

I just ordered from this Roccomamas off of ubereats and the driver dropped off the wrong order. I called the restaurant and Victor, the gentleman I spoke to was so incredibly helpful. He Apologised, asked me to give him some time to sort out the issue and then called back to let me know that they would prepare another order for me and he was a such a pleasure to talk to. I really appreciated the speedy and thoughtful interaction.

On arrival the waiter immediately advised that there credit card machine was out of order, which allowed us the opportunity to draw cash before ordering our meal. I had the vegetarian burger wish was good. Waiter was very friendly and accommodating.

It has bacon, avo, cheese, bread, chips and nachos: I'm there already! Even though it's one of the smaller outlets, it's really good with excellent service

Had the old school burger from here with chillies and hot sauce ,burger was good and enjoyed it ,Belgian milkshake as well was delicious as usual

Best breakfast in Jhb, always a great choice! Service was great and they closed the blinds without is having g to ask to keep the chill out 👌

Ordered via Uber Eats took the restaurant a hour and a half just to prepare...really if you going to expand into something like Uber get you business in order. Plus the food arrived cold. Never again.

Went here last night after the rugby. Really enjoyable experience. I had one of their chicken promo burgers and since I've never had a chicken burger here I was pleasantly surprised.<br/><br/>I also had some wings with Flavour X sauce and I must say it is probably the best Flavour X i've had. It was some kind of Salsa Chilli sauce. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

We waited for more than 30 min for our order, and were told it's because a big table ordered just as we ordered. However, the young waiter actually messed our order up, lost our sheets and came to ask again for our order. The chips weren't fresh, yuck. This place was bad, sorted it out, and now bad again.

Always excellent service. The hot wings are my favourite. Best veg burger around. Consistently good burgers and fries. Milkshakes are above average.

I had a mushroom swizz burger which is always a winner.<br/><br/>The service is great when your waiter is at the table, however I don't feel that the service at this particular branch is as good as some others. Especially trying to gain waiters' attention.<br/><br/>Anyways it's really conveniently located in Craighall and the food is great - so try them out :). 🍔 🍟

Freak shakes gives your a chocolate overdose some might have a love hate feeling for these.<br/><br/>Won't return back for another.... Too much sweetness for one. Burgers and Nachos are simple and won't see me coming back for more.

Great burger, great fries as always ... but I must say I feel completely ripped off paying R150 for low grade ribs - tough and tasted old !! Coleslaw way to much mayo and just not nice anymore ... what happened to the old Rocomamas - wait I know they were bought by a group owning too many franchises - more worried about bottom line and lost focus on quality ! Would never order that again they have lost their touch !

A great place to go out with our teens. Everyone gets to order exactly what they want. The service is good. It has a nice vibe. I love the chips, my son thinks the coleslaw (with bacon!) is the bomb.

A high five on the limited addition burgers! The Wild Bill is my personal fav, packed with Mexican flavors, but all three variants are scrumptious, large and value for money. The funky décor, open style (clean) kitchen, super staff and a menu that allows for personalized dining which started off a bit of fun competition as to who had the best customized Smash burger, was most creative and tasted best. Their fries are moreish and can be washed down with a cold beer as they are licensed. Convenient location with parking close by. Great casual spot for a quick lunch, bite before a night on the town, families or a grab and go.

This was my first Rocomamas experience and I must say it left me rather underwhelmed. A lot of effort has gone into the restaurant design and interior. It has a young and colorful feel to it, and everything is brand new and very clean. <br/><br/>A lot of staff were buzzing about the place, and the service was vey efficient. A manager also came over and made sure we were alright. <br/><br/>The disappointment however, came in the food. We had burgers and chips. I couldn't help but think of other burgers I've had for a similar price that just tasted and looked so much better. <br/><br/>I know they're always packed over weekends and Thursdays as well, but the crowd is quite young with what must be a rather unsophisticated palate and lack of appreciation for quality.<br/><br/>Anyway, it is junk food after all, so I didn't expect less. On top of that they play some pretty intense rock music and the load traffic of Jan smuts road rather adds to the chaos. <br/><br/>But if you're here for a boozy night I doubt you'd notice any of the above ...<br/><br/>

My colleagues and I we wanted to have quick lunch somewhere nearby. So we thought why not Rocomamas which is just across the road from us.<br/>We ordered wings and chips. I went there to fetch the food, they dont have delivery yet( i suggest they organise that quickly). The service was good and we were happy with the food. Had dinner at Rocomamas Craighall last night, ordered a double smash burger with caramelized onions.. Burger was cooked perfectly! One of the better burgers I've had lately!! Service was also good... <br/><br/>Had a really cool evening!

Rocomamas’ burgers are exceptionally good – soft buns, flavourful burgers and a range of toppings to inspire you. It’s fast food but not as you know it. Vibey ambience, with friendly and efficient service.

Great burger spot .. Think up-market takeaway joint ! Stopped by early one evening mid-week and it was busy, we parked around back where there are car guards. We sat at the 'high' counter table and they appeared to handle an endless stream of take-aways at the same time as sit down patrons with ease - loads of staff and everything made easy. You get your own menu to tick the type of hamburger you want, size up or down and a varied and delicious selection of extras - I had guacamole and chilli. Chips were really good and service is excellent.

Woke up late on a Friday morning so I had to get breakfast en route to work and there never really another option. Absolutely love this breakfast! Ordered a Rock'n'Rolla with extra mushrooms.. Food smelt&looked good, taste didn't disappoint either. Mushrooms had way too much salt though. And they didn't give me my toast!! But very friendly service nonetheless, very clean place. Probably be back for more.

This place is brilliant!  The burgers are excellent. The staff is amazing.Don't let the fast food, chain restaurant look discourage you either, Rocomamas still manages edge out some of the best burger joints in Johannesburg. Its a good spot for a sit down casual lunch/dinner with friends.<br/>Its also the perfect place to drive by after an evening of  too many alcoholic drinks and questionable decisions. Awesome

Had a really good time here! The staff were friendly and the manager would keep checking every now and then that everything is alright. <br/>It's preferable to come early as parking are really limited and seats are limited too. As well as now that it is winter, there are not many indoor seats. So go early! :D

#Yum #Yum #Yum ... this is all I needed today!! Work husband and I were craving a burger and boom there's a Rocos right down the road. Awesome burger and awesome service from this outlet 🙌

Update:<br/>Since our last not so good experience, we have revisited about 10 times, always for take aways and it has been excellent ever since that experience - both in taste and service. <br/>------<br/><br/>What disgusting service! We called in for a take away order and was told it would take 10-15 minutes. Husband and I got carried away with a conversation and ended up only being there 25 minutes later. I got there, paid, and then didn't receive any food... Asking what's going on they said they are busy (they were indeed jam packed). I was made to wait there standing for an additional 20 minutes with no update, when I ask what's going on no one can tell me, or they ignore me. At one stage a waitress told me "Ag mama, just relax!". This is all amplified by the fact that I was wearing pajamas (ok it kinda looks like clothes) with my freshly washed wet hair stacked on my head in a bun, because we just quickly going to pick up the food... <br/><br/>Anyway, got home, was charged for a double up, got only a single. Husband enjoyed his bacon and guac, my chili cheese was bland and the bacon and cheese bomb was burnt. Just so disappointing. <br/><br/>-----<br/>Original review:<br/>After reading the reviews for this branch we were hesitant to visit them, but due to Friday night laziness to drive to further branches we ended up there for take aways. We both ordered the chili cheese bombs double up and a large fries and it was by far the best Rocomamas we have had. The fries were well spiced and the burgers were so super tasty - it really was a chili cheese bomb - explosions of hot chili with a creamy cheese to temper it down, the patties were large and juicy and flavourful. We will definitely be back.

This is a good spot to grab a quick burger.. Some of the best 'fast food' burgers in my opinion but I must say I wasn't as blown away by my burger as I have been in the past. The service was good and the food came out quickly! Really like the location too..

You will have ten staff members hanging on your shoulder whilst you place your order for take always. Phone and order to avoid this irritation. About time they provided their staff with new t-shirts. The food is not bad.

They were out of stock on most of the beers on the menu, but the food was good. <br/><br/>Order a beer before you have the chilli cheese bomb because they take forever to bring you another, which is not great if you're burning up!<br/><br/> <br/><br/>

Not often that I'm in the mood for a burger and shake- and that's exactly what I ordered while down in Jhb. The chocolate milkshake was yum and my chicken burger with cheese and mushroom sauce was sumptuous and messy. Messy as in good 😉. <br/><br/>Service was attentive and I like the way one orders- you receive a list of whats on offer and you tick to your heart's content. Will definitely visit the CT outlets.

While I'm a huge fan of Rocomamas in general & this branch is my closest and most convenient, I think I'll probably end up driving a little further in future just to be sure. 3 of us went for lunch after the lunchtime rush (around 2pm) and found nothing too out of the ordinary as we were seated and drinks orders taken. My cheese smash burger wasn't bad, but it was entirely unremarkable in every way. My one friend specifically asked for no rocomayo or onions on her burger and received a burger drenched in the rocomayo and with onion. My other friend had a side salad that was swimming in oil/ dressing (picture of aftermath attached) and when I mentioned it to a manager, it was simply ignored. 2 orders of small fries were about 25% different in volume too. Also, I realise that the restaurant has a small area, but is it entirely necessary to wedge furniture in to such an extent that it is impossible to make your way through the service area without either physically squeezing past other diners or forcing them to move? The waiting staff were friendly and apologetic, but either ill-trained or not in the mood to do the job that day.<br/>Perhaps they were having an off day - which can happen to anyone - but I'm not sure I'll risk it again.<br/>This is a good concept, poorly executed. I really hope the franchisee and franchisor work together to sort it out before damage is done to the brand.

Another example of a chain where the more branches they open the more they dilute the brand and with it the service drops...<br/>Yes this branch is always jam packed... There is something missing. The lack of passion shows in the food as well. <br/>If you are craving a burger hit the parkhurst strip or make the short drive to the Rosebank branch.

Had an awesome time once again, I have been to three Rocomama outlets and so far the vibe and atmosphere at the Craighall restaurant was the best. Great service, waitrons made us feel really special. The food was great - top notch stuff!!

If you're wondering whether to go here... Just do it. You will certainly not regret it, because even if some cosmic occurrence causes everyone in the world to have a bad day on the day you go to Rocomama's, I am convinced that the food and service will still be amazing. I have been here as a diner but had take out recently. I ordered and left home straight away. The restaurant is ten minutes away and my food was ready and the entire staff looked so happy that I felt like all of their long lost friends when I walked through the door. Good job team!

Good burgers and milkshakes. The fries were stale and pretty tasteless. The service is friendly and efficient - good place to grab a burger. They serve craft beer too.

Haven't frequented Rocomamas as much as I used to when they first started but have found myself there twice in the last two weeks- the branch on Beyers Naude and then the new branch on Jan Smuts in Craighall.<br/>The service is way better at Craighall and was checked upon frequently and asked if everything was up to scratch which wasn't the case at Beyers branch.<br/>The burgers are pretty consistent- the fries at Beyers were slightly undercooked and pale- I never ordered fries today but had wings which were great- tangy bbq sauce and wings crispy and delish, albeit very small wings- yes,I know wings are small but have seen bigger and plumper!These are cardio wings!!<br/>Burgers are good and have decent seasoning with great variation of toppings and a build-your-own menu too.<br/>The can be a bit over zealous with the sauce sometimes, but I'd rather have too much than too little.<br/>Overall a nice spot to pop in for quick bite and some cool tunes in the background as well.<br/>

Went here for lunch on Saturday. As this is still a brand new establishment you can expect a few little teething problems. Whilst the service needs to be upped a notch, especially when people after you have ordered and get their food before you can be rather irritating it did not takeaway the fact that the food was out standing. I've been to a few of the other chains and this Rocomama's branch by far has the best burgers. They were well cooked and accompanied with a fresh bun and add on's. Keep up with the good food and get the service sorted and it will be a great diner.

This new burger spot certainly seems to have created a stir! I have never walked or driven past it and not seen it jam packed. It's got a fun American Diner feel & a great variety of all things meaty & delicious....like Jack Daniels MilkShake!! Although all my fellow diners licked every last drop of basting off the fingers, nobody felt that their meal was extra special or something they hadn't tasted before.
