My wife and I were really surprised by this place. Being one of the few Asian restaurants in Johannesburg, this restaurant has exceeded expectations, even better than restaurants you will find in Asian countries.

Great selection of sushi on the menu! Lots of variety! Prices are affordable! Miso soup was delicious and so was the Ka Kiage Tempura. Will be back again soon!
We booked in advance for the tepanyaki grill, but nobody told us it would be off due to loadshedding, so it was a bit of a disappointment. The food is quite good but takes forever to come to the table. The restaurant was quiet. Otherwise, I'd be more understanding. Service is mediocre. The waitress

One of my favorite sushi places! Always fresh, consistent and well priced. You won't find the ultra modern sushi here but what you do get is traditional sushi done right. The owners (mama & papa shop) are the friendliest couple you will meet, when you are a loyal customer they greet you by name & have great convo. Truly fantastic Japanese cuisine and very affordable. One of the few Japanese places to serve fried chicken sushi which is beyond incredible! Highly recommendable to all ! Chicken sweetcorn soup is amazing. Certain dishes are made on a wok live in front of the restaurant which is a very nice touch.

Hokkaido is an all-time favourite restaurant of ours. We have been going there for at least 7 years and they always have the freshest sushi. Their deep-fried ice cream is also excellent, and their chow mein is divine.
