The food was amazing! And the service was very attentive. The venue is also spacious and private. Look out for their sushi and Chinese food buffet, very affordable with a great selection.

The food was very good, the sizzling beef #89 was incredible, the best I have eaten. Very authentic experience with exceptional service. We had dumplings, seaweed and garlic, rice and noodles, prawn, pork and beef dishes and all were excellent. There was only 1 other table so atmosphere was lacking but will be back for the food without doubt. Give it a try, it's well worth it.

Updated: Yummy Sunday buffet, great service from the owner, delicious food. Can't go wrong here 😊 ---------------- Absolutely delicious dishes, served hot straight out the kitchen to your table. Tasty, yummy traditional Cantonese style cooking. Sushi was really good and fresh. Looking forward to trying dessert the next time round. Decor is beautiful, plenty space between tables. And the owner is friendly and courteous.

If Chinese food is your weakness, and you are looking for a great deal then i suggest checking out Lotus Rosebank. Buffets are usually not my thing, but i was privileged to try out their Sunday Buffet (for a ridiculously low price of R119) and i can happily report that it is such great value for money in the heart of Rosebank. The quality of the food is NOT compromised at all, there is massive variety, the food is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. I even got to satisfy my Sushi craving which is part of the buffet offerings. My favourites were the Duck and Crispy Chicken along with noodles and sweet and sour chicken. The sliced Potato Salad is something different and a must try. For desserts you HAVE to have the Egg tarts. Our waitress Gladys was on point. She is a such a pleasure, friendly and good with suggestions. She will even walk you through the tables explaining all the different food. If you are a picky eater, then speak to the staff they will definitely assist. Compliments to the Chef, it was a proper feast. There was just too many pictures of the food not to post all, hence the album. #LotusRosebank #TheFoodMusketeer #TheFoodMusketeerEats #TFMLotusRosebank

We celebrated our grandsons Red Egg & Ginger party at this restaurant with 70 guests. Eileen and Beauty assisted us and were very professional and helpful. They created a 9 course meal with the highlight been the Peking duck. They allowed us to bring traditional Chinese cuisine which they did not supply as well as our own cakes. All the wait staff was helpful and courteous. A fantastic evening enjoyed by all our guests. Thank you Beauty and Eileen. Will see you again not only for a meal but parties as well. Please note this menu and prices are current for the month of June 2019.

Very neat, great food preparation and presentation. Well worth a sit down. Authentic Chinese. Tip: The Business Lunch menu offers smaller portions at a great price.

Four out of five, nice Chinese food I loved the chicken soup 🍲 oh my God. The Duck, pork, chinese pasta and some other that I don't remember the name, they were all delicious. It was a good experience to eat with Chinese chopsticks 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was forgetting about about the Chinese drink🥃🔥

If you're craving salty Chinese food, then this place is great and it really satisfies. For the price, you also get a TON of food. The prawn crackers are also always so fresh and crispy! The sweet and sour chicken are definitely a must try!

After may years and losing track of there new location, it's really good to know that same owners and friendly waiters and peaceful atmosphere is still there, well done and worth every cent in the excellent quality food.

I went to Lotus this past Mother’s Day for the buffet lunch. The buffet features a variety of dishes from cold salads to hot food and even sushi.
The sushi was disappointing being that the rolls were small and featured small amounts of fish and the rice was slightly stale but I guess you can’t expect too much from buffet sushi. The salads were all good aside from the beef tendon which was more chewy than preferred. Standouts were the calamari, seaweed and shredded tofu. I didn’t get a chance to try all of the mains but most were really tasty. Deep fried chicken wings were fresh and crispy, the roast duck was delicious and juicy. The beef stew was slightly chewy but had really nice flavor. The fried fish left much to be desired as I thought it would be crispy and it was soggy more than anything. Deep fried wontons and dumplings were stand outs. Both were crispy and very tasty.
Desserts were average. The small selection included deep fried rice balls with red bean filling, some fruit, fried taro pancakes and sea same balls. Everything was nice but nothing really grabbed my attention.
Most of the food was up to standard as far as my expectations for classic Chinese food goes. The one major complaint that everyone had was that none of the food was hot and all ended up being pretty lukewarm . Overall I would recommend giving the lotus buffet a try just don’t go in expecting anything life changing.

-Row

We were here for a year end function and the variety of dishes offered was insane! I enjoyed most of the dishes besides sea food as I am not a fan of seafood.
The soups were amazing!
We even had a lobster per person (which I didn’t eat).
Food Loving 101
I went for the lunch buffet. The food is more westernized than I liked as I come from a Chinese background but it will suit people trying out Chinese food for the first time.
Would have hoped there was more spicy food.
The rating would be more of a 3.5 for me.

Ordered a takeaway Chicken Fried Rice and basically received steamed rice with egg and some carrots. Very bland and not what I was expecting.

Newly relocated Lotus Chinese restauran comes with elegance and beautiful tasty dishes. Don't try the ordinary sweet&sour stuff (go get from any take away Chinese restaurant as they all taste the same) , try dishes that are recommended by the owner or what Chinese people are ordering!
