My family loved it. It's just big enough to get your muscles working in the open air but small enough to not become monotonous. The animals are all well-kept and have the freedom to roam the main enclosure so you get a real sense for the animals as you would find them out in the wild. The gardens are beautiful, and my kids enjoyed the bird show. There's a lovely cafe at the entrance with a play area for the kids next to the flamingo enclosure, which really does make for a brilliant wild experience right on our doorstep.

Lovely place to visit and a day out well spent. Wide range of birds and other animals. The bird garden is quite big. Grounds are well kept and neat. They have live demonstrations at certain times. Well worth visiting

It's a beautiful clean place to go visit the birds.
There is a small restaurant as you enter for some snacks and if you want a alcohol slashie... Very delicious.
Lots to see and great place to bring your kids.

They have a bride show at 1pm and another at 3pm that's about 15mins long

What a lovely destination for a JHB outing. Well-kept grounds, happy-looking animals, clean enclosures, a haven, really. Love the conservation work done for owls and the ground hornbill!

I have been here a few times and they never disappoint. I do host many foreigners and love to bring them here. The grounds, cages and facilities are very clean and well looked after. To have a spot like this in the middle of Johannesburg is amazing.

This place is really clean, and the birds, animals and creatures are well looked after, was surprised to find that I was in for more than just birds, walk In a habitat with lemurs and small diekers walking around free and multiple birds. Really great experience for the little ones they loved it. We were also spoilt with a short but sweet bird show with some trained birds. Then after the kids could play in a playground while we sat and had a bite to eat.
Food is not gourmet in anyway, but that's a small issue. Great place and well done to the staff who work and manage this facility.

Incredibly well-kept facilities. Nice and clean. None of the animals look depressed like most zoos. Missed the red pandas but the reptile room made up for it.

It's a beautiful and well looked after and such pretty birds and monkeys. There is also a frog room and snakes which are just as stunning! A definite 👌 the lemurs roam freely in the aviary, so just mind your step 😉

First time visiting the place. I'm pleasantly surprised with how well the place is managed. Great upkeep, very neat, clean, and smell free areas compared to other outdoor bird and animal places. There's an entrance fee. A lot more than just birds, there are reptiles, tortoises, and a variety of birds, of which some are not enclosed in cages, which was delightful. Large pelicans, ducks, swans, picturesque landscapes. An informative bird show twice a day (11h00 and 15h00) with a toucan coming up close. A shop on site and kids play ground. Rest rooms available. Not Halaal. Cool drinks, juices, ice creams and Chips can be purchased. Short walk out of the bird garden and into Monte Casinos dining area presents halaal food options for those looking.

Absolutely incredible place! My kids and I loved it all! Such a nice variety of animals. The netted area where many of the animals were freely roaming about was my favorite. Highly recommend!

Visiting the Bird Gardens is always a treat! A beautiful place that is well taken care of and full of healthy animals. The whole area is stroller/wheelchair friendly. The educational shows twice a day is very informative and just long enough to keep little minds captivated. I have never seen litter there and the bathrooms are super clean. Wonderful outing!
