Great service! Friendly and knowledgeable waiter. Burgers were very tasty and portions were generous. The cocktails are delicious! Lovely small restaurant nestled under large trees. Chilled atmosphere and vibe. Had a lovely Sunday lunch and will go back and try the rest of the menu!

Had a great experience in the hot summer morning under the shade. The breakfast was delicious and the drinks super refreshing. I will definitely come back! It was not packed and the service was very quick, try it out😉
The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The presentation of the food and the drinks was superb. The menu was interesting and varied. The burgers are what sets this restaurant apart though - the patties were delicious (the best in Johannesburg) and the buns were the perfect size. I will definitely be coming back.
Got there around 10am, the perfect time from branch
Under some tree shade, birds singing and alive with the buzz of foot steps and people chatting, it was fantastic, ordered the Hibiscus and Vanilla tea, bring on the higher living, it was really, great and the Bill the butcher sandwich was sublime, steak charred to perfection well medium is perfection,
I’m so going back
L8 is our Go-to weekend hangout . Top class preparations, ingredients & flavour . They serve burgers & gourmet sandwiches besides other breakfast options . For vegetarians , their Bojack burger is literally the best we’ve ever had in this city - served with spiced hand cut fries - it’s a true delight and our repeat order ! Lemonada is our most favourite drink which is a heady mix of lemonade & mint - so so deliciously refreshing . We love eating their gourmet burgers too viz. Hatchet Harry( Brie cheese , sundried tomato ,
Pesto & all the yummy goodness) & one more veg option which has mozzarella cheese . We’ve eaten in over 50 cafes in Joburg but L8 is hands down our favourite because of their amazing quality and flavour !
What a great little spot, but tables under the trees out in the shade. I ordered the Cartman Grilled Beef Burger, which is topped with a creamy mushroom sauce, onion rings and bacon. My friend had the McLovin burger which is served with mozzarella, homemade bacon, avocado and fig sauce. They are both absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable and service is great.
The best hangout. Stanley is one of my favorite place and L8 happens to win my love for their ambiance and food...it's amazing. I enjoyed my hibiscus tea... Absolute bliss💞. I'm coming back soon.

There sandwiches are number one. They have a good selection of beer including your regular South African beers. Great for a quick bite on a lunch break.
The place is small but has a great feel. Food was ultra delicious(The burgers especially). Service was outstanding. Overall just a wonderful experience. Really enjoyed their Gin and Tonic combinations 👌🏾
This is a lovely spot nestled in the vibey 44 Stanley in Milpark. Quick service, good food and great coffee. However they ran short on a few ingredients which left limited choices on the drinks menu. I ate the Lester Burnham sandwich which was good but felt the Turkish bread a little too tough with an overpowering amount of pesto. All round nice experience.
I think this is the first 5/5 for me on Zomato. Came here with my mates and I was so impressed with the kind staff. Very pleased with the fast service and the food is excellent. Perfect to bring a date here as well.
The place itself is like a maze where many of the stores are packed compactly next to each other. It does make it an interesting experience when one explores the many hidden gems such as the Salvation Cafe, which sells the best cheesecake I have ever tasted and I don't normally like cheesecake.
I had not explored the mall side but walking around the stores was a fun experience. I would not suggest going there alone since the carguards tend to be fairly aggressive when it comes to tipping them and there are a few homeless people loitering around the area.
Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and it is a great place to go with friends as a uni student.
The place demonstrates strong support for the community and boasts aesthetic with its industrial-chic architecture. The overall ambiance creates a trendy and inviting atmosphere. Would love to pay another visit when there are events hosted.
Stunning little collection of alcoves offering great coffee and grub, clothes, proper shoe care for quality footwear, Atelier art, second hand books...
A true Joburg gem.
Absolutely gorgeous setting with a lot of amazing stores. Books, music, plants, food, etc. Most stores close early, be sure to check the trading hours
44 Stanley is a really interesting place to visit. It is truly a gem in the city, both because of its vibey atmosphere and because of its aesthetic setup. It has lots of easy access parking (both free and paid options), and is relatively easy to find.
Despite this, 44 Stanley is not a place I would regularly come to for leisure or entertainment. It is very expensive. Tickets for the Bioscope are about R300 for 2 people (including a pizza), and Peachy is R45 for a slider (see attached picture). Personally I only thought that the ice cream shop (Forest Gelato) was reasonable at R38 for a scoop of ice cream (but I was served 1,5 scoops).
I did not indulge in the other stores (there is stationery, ceramics, clothes, vinyls, and more). However, I will say that both the Library and the le’Elephant Terrible Bookshop are must sees.
Great vibe. Everyone should check this place out if you come to Joburg. It's got a good day and night vibe. I do think that there is an opportunity for the night life scene to be slightly enhanced.
A really beautiful chill out space. Has a beautiful vibe any day of the week. The home of handcrafted furniture and artisan works. This spaces hosts handmade chocolate deli, Bean There coffee, Mr Vinyl, Salvation Cafe and Deli. There is a beautiful gallery, bookstore, bag store and also homes the Petagonia suppliers for South Africa. It’s a beautiful hang out spot for more mature crowds a bit intimate. There is a lot of parking outside.
Bought the most delicious chocolates here. Nice wide range that comes in a small beautiful gift box. Staff are friendly and the enviroment is so pretty.
So worth the drive! Eclectic atmosphere and beautiful shops make it a mini-break in the middle of Jozi. You could be in Prague, but it's more affordable! Safe parking. Great ice cream. Bookstores. Galleries. Plants. Heaven, basically.
Many little shops... loved the 2nd hand bookshops... and the place selling Indian clothes and especially linen..
Many places to eat
Went to the coffee shop to read
There were people remote working as there are plugs and wifi...
Had fun....
