Review Ba-pita - Johannesburg

Love love Ba-Pita in Norwood, honestly, one of my favorite spots. Food is good, staff is amazing and atmosphere is lovely with both outside & inside seating. So much to do in that area!! Proud to be a Norwood girl!!! 🥰 Love my City!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Very busy so it does get a bit noisy. Nice to have vegan options and they were very open to ingredient changes.

I’ve eaten there a few times this week for breakfast. I’ve had the Shakshuka and avo on rye with a poached egg. The food is really really good. The best breakfast in Norwood. The coffee is also great, they have various milk alternatives like almond milk and Soy which is always welcomed. Their coffee rivals and is at minimum on par with loof which is my favourite in Norwood. Overall it’s a great atmosphere and nice place to be whether inside or outside. Service is excellent and the owner is just about always there with his finger on the pulse. Will be back. Great establishment.

Amazing place, went there for a work function, it had a great atmosphere, the waiters were amazing. Great food, great place, great people great vibe. An awesome place for work functions or for team building events. Super accommodating, we had our own space and were not bothered at all, great sun light coming in. Really really awesome place

Beautiful decor, great service and really yummy food- probably the best pita I’ve had in a very long time. My lamb flatbread was a little oily but other than that, our experience was flawless.

Food is exceptional. All meals are always absolutely delicious and staff are very welcoming, friendly and on the ball. The honey fudge as well as the chocolate brownie are both so good. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

A rare combination of great service, great ambience, and great taste sensations. Did I say it's great? Toerie has paid incredible attention to detail, and every corner of Ba-Pita hides quirky discoveries. It leads into a courtyard shared by other establishments, with spaced out tables offering a continental-style eating experience.

What an amazing space, it really adds to the feeling of a middle Eastern restaurant. We had the most amazing drinks and the food was next level amazing.

Lovely place with good food. Great customer service. My favorite meal on the menu is Desert Lamb laffa. Slow cooked to perfection with a burst of flavor. Shawarma's are good too but the lamb and beef were both a bit tough though. Good experience nonetheless

Absolutely love this spot. One of my favourite in Norwood. The chicken laffa is always a treat and the sauce!!!! Hmmm. I also enjoyed the Flatbread and shwarmas. The very berry is a great refreshing cocktail for the heat

Such a cute restaurant with SUCH delicious food. Thoroughly enjoyed the dips! My lamb flat bread was delicious. My sons fish was also quite good, great value for money.

So I finally made my way to Ba-Pita It's now the second spot I've been wanting to try in Melville but just never drove that way in a while. During covid they closed down and I was really disappointed, but then I happened to see they reopened in another location closer to home. The day we picked to go for breakfast it was bucketing down with rain, and i managed to get a parking near the entrance. They are busy building a small parking lot behind them just fyi. 👍🏻 Of course all we came for was the Shakshuka, and then I decided to try the Breakfast Laffa with Tomato Smoor 😋 We started off with coffee while waiting for our food. The place is a simple yet funky setup. Had a chat to both Toerie and Gerald who were there that day, thank you and the team for your hospitality. The Shakshuka which is served all day, consists of Roasted Tomatoes, Red peppers, spices, mild chilli, herbs with 2 poached eggs, served homemade Labneh and fresh challah bread. My Laffa was a toasted flatbread served with scrambled eggs, pastrami sausage, halloumi, mushrooms and a side of tomato smoor. I wished either the laffa or the smoor had a kick of Chilli in it, it was lovely but I liked the spice in the Shakshuka. Then as a side we had the Falafel's. Perfectly fried and oh so yummy... We didnt have anything else as the portion sizes are pretty good, and the place filled up quickly. Definitely going back to explore some more menu items now that they closer to home, and I suggest you do too if you love yummy comfort food. Ah what a special place. We so loved the vibe, our waiter was so friendly and attentive, food was absolutely delish (must try the dessert lamb laffa) and the meal was certainly great value for money. Lovely location as restaurant does not look over a parking lot if you sit in the courtyard. Owners constantly checked on us and seemed extremely friendly and genuine. Can't wait to go back!

Very tasty food, lots of options on the menu. Fresh ingredients. (Shakshuka - half portion, chicken livers, chips, laffa, falafel)
