Review Taste Of Punjab - Johannesburg

Jalisa Whitley
This restaurant went above and beyond when ubereats drivers kept cancelling. They called me personally to apologize and coordinated and alternate way to get my food. They deserve all the stars for the customer service because all of it was out of their control but they still chose to go out of their way to make sure we were fed.

1st time visited..now permamant will be here! Lekker Indian Taste šŸ˜…ā¤ļøšŸ’œ beautiful Services!

The food was delicious, they didn't have enough cider range in stock. The environment is awesome, can do well for candle lit dinner.

Lived the butter chicken. Nothing to fault. Service was good, food nice and hot and tasty. Also a very generous portions Welldone

Tried the chicken Korma n Naan for the first time. Sauce / gravy was divine although chicken was not cooked through. Tasted raw and cud still see the "redness" of the raw fillet.

Fabulous service. Terrific food. A lovely night out

Authentic Indian aromatic food with perfect flavors. Top notch quality and super yummy always. Their service is amazing. No. 1 in Johannesburg. I can eat their food all day and night. Deserve 10 stars.

A very nice restaurant situated in a quiet location. Perfect for friends or friends to be to meet. The menu contains a wide variety of dishes, all reasonably priced. The 'mild' variety of dishes will still give you a good idea of Indian cuisine and your tongue may find it a little more spicy than you may be used to, but very fragrant. I was there during loadshedding and the lights on the table were not quite adequate to read the menu easily or see the food later for eating, but the service was friendly and quick.
Daniel Heynike
Great restaurant, with delicious Samosas.
Sache Raubenheimer
We held our engagement party here and got everything we expected and more. The food was authentic and tasty. They cater for tastes from mild to extra hot. The service is great and the energy is cool. It's normally not packed so you can hold great dinner parties here. They also cater for parties held elsewhere and can have a takeaway done on under 20 minutes. All in all, absolutely a great place. Ask for Alex to serve you, he has been our favourite waiter for the last 9 years.
Ruzane Holtzhausen
The restaurant offered a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The food was very flavourful, reasonably priced and restaurant has a nice ambiance and the staff were very friendly and delivered good service.
Neerejh Ramlakhan
The food is excellent. The pricing is excellent. We struggled with our waitress as we were a large table but management intervened to ensure we had a great time.
Kirsten Stevens-King
Absolutely terrible service. We are vegan and I ask which meals are vegan and I'm told maybe one of them are. After asking for the manager to ensure my meal is vegan, I'm told there is no manager on duty then after asking for the chef, I'm told the chef can't come out. All other Indian restaurants I've been to are beyond accommodating to vegans. The restaurant was completely quiet so I'm uncertain as to why I couldn't speak to the chef. Very disappointed, please offer an explanation for this. The waitress was rude and dismissive. We left without eating.
Swati Saxena
The food is awesome. The ambience is nice. My daughter especially loves the chicken biryani from this resturant. Veg manchurian and Paneer Lajawab are a must try.
Tanja Horn
We used to live down the road and loved eating here. The food, the atmosphere, the staff, always wonderful. We moved to Pretoria over a year ago and definitely miss them.
Chad Vaughan
The food is orgasmic and the service was good as well. Will definitely be back!

Food was amazing! Unfortunately, the service was shocking.
Asanda Qotyana-Sika
So disappointed ordered food for our office and how do you justify serving a R95 lunch pack with only 2 small pieces of lamb in the curry and we ordered onelamb mild and one Medium got all mild and bland food.
Yolande Rose
Ordered via Uber eats and order never got delivered ļæ½

It was amazing place and specially biryani was wonderful.<br/>Staff is very friendly.<br/>Good food overall.<br/>I ordered paneer curry and boneless biryani.<br/>Amazing taste.
Belinda Dreyer
Terrible experience. Ordered through Uber eats.Ā  The food was badly packaged and arrived having spiled out. The lamb (apparently medium)Ā  was tough and underspiced and lacked seasoning. The chicken was overcooked and a gelatinous mess.Ā  I sincerely doubt this chef has any idea where the Punjab is and is quite possibly unaware of how to prepare Indian food period. Not worth a quarter of the price paid.
Sean William
Big biryani fan.<br/><br/>This is the second time Iā€™ve placed an UberEats order at Taste of Punjab, but was a bit disappointed.<br/><br/>Just the right amount of spicing, but the portion of rice is too much, and thereā€™s too little pieces of chicken.<br/><br/>Feel like I paid a lot of money for a massive bowl of basmati rice that was just spiced a bit.
Preeti Mishra
Service is at a slower pace.<br/>Ambience is decent.<br/>Food is average in taste.<br/>Popular for the indian food, you can go the restaurant if you miss indian snacks . Taste is not very impressive at all
Abhishek Mandloi
Average restaurant if you want to try Indian food. Food is okay, not very good and so is the ambiance. Tried it only twice and food didnā€™t impress much.<br/>Service was very good though.
Byronlroos
Always delicious and a go-to for the best Indian take-away or sit down. The Palak paneer and vegetable samosas are the best Iā€™ve had in JHB - delicious!

Two annoying experiences at this restaurant. The first time we went the food was okay, the waiting staff were not trained and we had a constant uber eats alert going on in the background. Very irritating. <br/>The second time we went, we decided to get take aways to avoid the staff and the uber eats irritation, but the food was so bad that we didnā€™t eat it. I called to complain and they offered me a complimentary curry, but I declined because I donā€™t want a repeat experience :/

I ordered the lamb curry today via OrderIn. Delivery was expected to take an hour. My order arrived within 40min of my placing the order. I was pleasantly surprised. Until I plated up and started eating. Food was lukewarm. The lamb pirtion was ok, more sauce than meat- but not too bad. It was also tasty but had a slightly sweet/ sour taste. It was more pronounced when I had a piece of potato. It was off- urgh. No wonder it arrived so fast, it was warmed up a little then dished up. The cloves in the lamb were so soft, there's no way this curry was made today.

My family were die hard regulars at this place...until the change of ownership in 2017.....food is below average and a real disappointment. The original owners have opened Punjabi Tadka on 11th Ave, Parkmore...and thatā€™s right on the money for authentic North Indian food.
Taahira Kimmie
AVOID THIS RESTAURANT THEY ARE A RIP OFF WHO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT DON'T SEND YOU YOUR FOOD!<br/><br/>Ordered dinner via Order In- we only received 2/3 curries we ordered and of the ones we did receive we were playing "find the lamb" and "find the chicken", it was all sauce. The naans we ordered were terrible and the overall experience was shocking. To make matters worse, after we escalated the fact that we did not receive all our food that we were charged for - the manager refused to refund us and refused to send out the food we had paid for and not received.<br/><br/>Utterly shocking service and quality especially when you are charging people so much money.
Linguini
RIP-OFF!!! I just spent R700 with this restaurant on Uber Eats and got the real value of R150.00 at the most. Amongst other things, we ordered 3 korma dishes: lamb, chicken and prawns (R125, R150 and R185) each), only to receive 3 containers with basically SAUCE and 4-5 small pieces or protein in each dish (see photo attached). Also no chopped veggies like we've got the previous time. I am very irritated because it's daylight robbery. No matter how much sauce you add to a container, customers are not fools and they will complain. You can't send out orders called "main meals" if they look like overpriced soup. Never again.
Tiffany
My friend was really feeling like a curry and we went here for dinner tonight (4 October 2017). <br/><br/>Firstly, the ambience is very nice. Itā€™s set out very beautifully! <br/><br/>The service is alright. The waiters are friendly. <br/><br/>The complimentary pompodums with a coriander dip and chutney are a nice touch. <br/><br/>My friend had the butter chicken. It was very flavorsome and had a perfect spice level. I had the chicken korma, it was very tasty and creamy just like a korma should be. I would definitely recommend it. Only constructive criticism is adding some more cashew nuts. Both curries were served with rice. <br/><br/>My highlight of the meal was the naan bread, I had a garlic and butter one. Extremely delicious. <br/><br/>Definitely worth trying out if youā€™re keen for Indian food and live in the Parkview area.
Luzine
Food is not presentable and it tastes dry... terrible service... would you eat something so unappealing to the eye. Very disappointed

Taste of Punjab Parkview is a great Indian restaurant near the Zoo Lake area. It has all the features of the chain Taste of Punjab is known for - authentic Indian cuisine, Punjabi flavours and great outdoor sitting arrangements. I really loved the vegetarian options from Dale Makhni to Paneer Tikka Masala. Naan is also soft and crisp along with amazing pickle. Would love to visit this place for more snacks. Pakodas and Veg Manchurian is really nice. Thanks

ā€œBest meal I've had in ages, Example of excellent customer service, One of the best places for Delicious Indian cuisine"<br/>I've tried the cuisine at dozens of other Indian restaurants in and around Johannesburg, as well as in other cities, and I still think Taste of Punjab@Parkview is my favorite by far. Their delicious and fresh food is always consistently the best, and the service bends over backwards to make your experience truly memorable. Food is definitely the most enjoyable and you can tell they always use the freshest ingredients. They catered a large event for one of my family occasion. Working with Taste of Punjab was such a breeze. They thought of everything, offered suggestions and the event was a HUGE success. Their level of professionalism is beyond excellence. You can tell a lot of time and effort goes into the development of the menu and the associated recipes.Ā <br/><br/>The sauces and spices were done just right. Treat yourself to a great meal at this great restaurant soon. Every meal we enjoyed had a variety of options and was flavorful but also because the prices were so reasonable. Ā One of the best places to go for authentic Indian food! Being Indian, I like the fact that the food is absolutely authentic and healthy (not submerged in loads and loads of oil like other places). You won't be disappointed, your stomach will be happy and your wallet won't be completely empty. I have even frequented this restaurant for the dinner and I would totally recommend the place to others. There are lots of things left to try on the menu.<br/><br/>There are four for five Indian restaurants much closer to my house, but I drive the extra distance for Taste of Punjab's delicious food!Ā I have never seen anyone pour their heart and soul into their business like Taste of Punjab, Parkview! Each flavor component is carefully assessed with meticulous detail. I would recommend this place anytime any day. It's family oriented, clean, great food, and the customer service is the best in Johannesburg. Consistency is key and I have never been disappointed. The owner not only cares about his customers but he empowers his staff daily. Well done Taste of Punjab!!! I will be a customer for my time!! Without a doubt, THE BEST RESTAURANT IN Johannesburg!!!

Had a order in delivery from here of mango lassi, yoghurt raita and roti.Roti was nice and yoghurt was good and mango was really refreshing and lovely

I have been a few times and get take away from this place at least once a month. I am never disappointed. The food, service and speediness is amazing. The Chicken Peshwari is absolutely delicious.
Maxine Boyd
Best Indian food in the area! Both for sitting down and take-away. <br/>We always have the chicken korma with buttered naan which never disappoints! <br/>Friendly service and a great night out!
Jill Nudelman
It was emptyish for a Friday night but surprisingly, the ambience wasn't too bad probably because of its red walls and gold curtains. Like all Indian restaurants, the decor was kitsch but the food was nice enough - chicken tikka Marsala with fluffy basmati rice and butter naan on the side. R30 corkage for a delicious Warwick cab franc 2010 was the cheapest I've ever known and the service (from the manager) was excellent. <br/>Note: if you're offered a table outside, you won't be affected by the weather - it's really inside - in the central space of the Village Shopping Centre.
Jaya Chatterjee
Best Tandoori Chicken in the city. Also it is very centrally located. Can be considered as best authentic Indian restaurant. Must visit place.
Bikram Chatterjee
Best authentic Indian restaurant in Johannesburg. I'm a food lover and try different cuisine in different places. Recommended food here..Tandoori Chicken,Punjabi Lamb Curry with Bone, Prawn Masala. Don't foget Kulfi ice cream. Must say the staff are friendly . Ambiance will get full marks. From my side Taste of Punjab will get five star rating.

One of the best curry spots in JHB. Great curries, exciting menu, helpful staff. One time they accidentally gave me the wrong dish on a takeaway order (only noticed when I got home). I phoned them to let them know and they Ubered me the correct order so I didn't have to drive back to swap it! 5 star service!
Nicola Slyper
We came here for a family dinner. The lighting was pretty low which makes for a more intimate type dinner. <br/><br/>Stuart and I shared the starter of battered mushrooms. We really enjoyed the starter. For mains, I had the butter chicken. It was good but could have had a little more flavour. The garlic naan was really good. Overall it was a lovely evening, we would definitely give it a try again.
Joyce Keung
Food is so amazing here! The staff are always friendly and efficient. Fell in love with this place since the first time i've been here. Love it! Definitely recommend it to anyone that loves curry. They have so many varieties. <br/>
Swati Saxena
i was there with one of our family friends. Loved the Ā food. Ordered Veg Manchurian and lamb seekh kabab. Both the dishes were awesome . Loved the ambience as well
Preetika.jasmath
I'm adding my review here cos I realize I haven't done one. My bad. Someone at work asked which was my fav Indian. And I have to say Taste of Punjab is it. I always eat the same thing, but the prawn masala is to die for. Add some jeera rice and you are good to go.
Yanir Grindler
Shared a chicken Tikka as well as a curry to get the best of both worlds- chicken was really tasty and so was the curry. The dishes though we're unfortunately quite small, considering the price- so had to fill up on the Naan and rice . The service was very accommodating though and the waitress was really helpful. All in all, a nice meal but sorry to say - not my favorite Indian spot in jozi
Nishela Ramgoolam
Tried the butter chicken at Taste of Punjab. The chicken was tender but the sauce was a little short on flavour. Curry was mild even though I ordered it hot. Service could have been more attentive.
Samantha Behrmann
Lovely waiters buy Really Gross . I feel ill actually . Starters were bland, too floury and oily (our table ordered every veg starter on the menu). Mains were so average . Shame .
Annie Hodes
Great authentic Indian food, nice and hot just like you want it when you ask for hot, myself and a friend had the lamb thali and our American guest wanted to try a bunny chow, was recommended by Zomato as one of the best in Jozi so we brought him here and he loved it
I
Best tandoori chops. Excellent service. Well priced. Become my favorite Indian restaurant we will certainly be going back and recommend it to friends
Carien Jakovljevic
We had the butter chicken with some naan from Taste of Punjab for take away. The butter chicken tasted different from any other butter chicken I have ever had - it was quite acidic, but still nice. The chicken was very tender. The naan was good. Portion sizes were a bit smaller than expected. I must say when picking up the take aways I was quite impressed by the atmosphere of the restaurant - we will definitely consider sit down next time.
ROBERT ELLIS
We were hungry for some Indian takeaway and so we ordered the butter chicken curry with extra knaan. And it was exceptional tasty and full of flavour and tastes of authentic Indian food and spices. Although quite pricey, the food and portion was fantastic and wouldn't hesitate to go back
Chanel Pillay
My boyfriend loves the lamb breyani from Taste of Punjab and after tasting it I must agree and I highly recommend it. I also tried the butter chicken and garlic naan which was very satisfying. We got a full meal for R210 for two and we both had leftovers for the next day. Thus great value for money. <br/><br/>The restaurant has a warm feel which is great in winter and the staff are friendly.
Kudzai Maeresa
Great location, attentive waiters. Good food with the usual generous offerings u expect at an indian restaurant. Didnt disappoint but also didnt wow. Its ok.
Godfrey De Meyer
Quiet part of the centre away from the bustling market and popular street. Excellent , friendly service. Full of aromatic and tasty dishes will be back.
Justine Taitz
I love this place. Really tasty food. Service is good. A beautifully decorated resturant. We had the butter chicken and a prawn korma. Plan to return regularly.
Abs
Shared the mixed platter and vegetarian mixed platter for starters. Delicious! Succulent and flavourful. I had the lemon chicken for my main and was impressed. Large portions at a good price. Service was efficient and friendly, although this may have been due, in part, to the low number of patrons.
Hargun
We went to this place and loved the food . <br/>Good portions , excellent taste and well priced . Service was very good . Not many people sitting , but seemed very busy with Take Aways . Chicken Malai tikka , Dal Makhni was very good . <br/>Surely shall go there again .
Brooke
Our go to take out place for curry. The food is tasty, and the price is right. <br/>I usually have the butter chicken which is some is the best around in my opinion, and my husband usually get a lamb dish and we are typically satisfied.<br/>The actually restaurant is usually quiet , and lacks a welcoming feel. We have been there to pick up food while they were burning some kind of incense or something. It was incredibly strong smelling and my husband who suffers from asthma didn't not appreciate it in the slightest. <br/>If they worked on their space and kept the quality of food up, we would also consider is a place to go to eat instead of just taking away.
G Makan
This quaint little gem houses my vote for the best butter chicken I have had thus far in Joburg. I have fallen in love with the butter chicken here and would highly recommend this dish.
Bonga Mncwabe
Worst bunny I've ever had! The bread is as hard as a brick, the curry is not even inside the bread. You people don't know any thing about bunnies!
Blasian Princess
I visited this restaurant on a Monday night. It was pretty quiet and that allowed for fast and efficient service. Their basmati rice is fluffy and tasty. I had the lemon chicken. Warning: "medium" is hot enough. I love that their drinks are cheap
Lee-Anne Jacobs
Have visited this restaurant a few times. <br/>Love the courtyard vibe - would be perfect if it was right on the road. <br/>We ordered a Korma , Vindaloo with Naan breads - portions are so generous that was enough for 3 of us .....<br/>Prices are reasonable - will definitely visit again.

I stopped by for a late lunch and found the starters enjoyable, onion pakora and punjab chaat. The main course of dhansak chicken was disappointing as it's a Persian/Parsi delicacy in Mumbai. This was bland and mixed with yellow dhaal. The veg kadhai paneer was most enjoyable. Pity they don't stock Gajjar Halwa as dessert as I enjoy it. But guess what, I ordered Malva Pudding, yes in an Indian restaurant. Have ordered butter chicken for dinner. Hopefully it will be good. This venue is tucked away in Parkview and was once home to Michael Broughton of Klein Zalze fame. He is one of the top chefs in South Africa today.
Sonia Naik
Popped by for a late lunch. Food was good and service was not too bad either. Wide selection in the dessert menu as well. Only disappointment was no ghaajar halwa. We would come back for a meal! :)
Julia Louise Domanski
My favourite Indian restaurant in Joburg! It isn't a vibey restaurant (it's in a secluded arcade in Parkview which is very quiet at night and doesn't get much natural light) but what it lacks in ambience it makes up for in DELICIOUS food, friendly, attentive staff and fast, efficient service. <br/>They really treat their customers like gold here! <br/>I highly recommend this spot for dinner when the atmosphere is warmer and more intimate with soft lighting and music. <br/>The chicken tikka dishes are all AMAZING and so are all of the vegetable side dishes. The butter chicken is absolutely delicious and the naan bread is perfectly buttery with crispy edges. <br/>Definitely recommend this underrated little restaurant. <br/>
Gina Lopes
We took the family to lunch here today. Very quiet at Sunday lunch time. The food was speedy and delicious. We started with the onion bhaji (a portion is 6 pieces so great value for money and then moved on to mains. I had a mild Chicken Madras, very tasty and generous with the chicken. My partner had a medium Lamb Madras, also very generous with the meat and flavour. My partners daughter had the Lamb Briyani which she rates the best she has had so far, it's her stable Indian order. The chicken samoosa's are huge and 4 a portion, a meal in their own and the naan bread fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back. Great portion size and good value for money.
Meagan Whitehorn
Taste of Punjab is our local Indian takeaway and occasional eat out spot literally down the road. Take outs are always super quick and their garlic naan is to die for. I have tried almost all the veggie options on offer and there is plenty variety to keep it interesting for me. Love the Egg Plant curry!! Will continue to support them.
Vinodhan Selvarajalu
Reliably excellent dishes in general, especially their briyani.Ā Service is also always above the norm. Our regular Indian go-to! Too bad they don't deliver!
Winton Windell
At least once a week I have a craving for the spicy and full flavoured butter chicken and naan bread at Taste of Punjab. The mere mention of the name, makes my mouth water in anticipation of this wonderful dish. Be sure to eat this dish while srinking the Zorgvliet Sauvignon Blanc. Njam! <br/><br/>The Chicken Korma is also a favourite. A mild curry with nuts. Be sure to lap up the wonderful sauce with your naan bread. <br/><br/>I prefer the ambience of the restaurant inside since it is nice and cozy, but you can also sit outside, although it is still inside the little shopping centre.
Nicola Taylor
Out of two dishes, the chicken kadhai was exceptional but the 'lamb' buhna was quite bland in comparison, also questioning whether it was lamb or mutton, strong sheepy flavour. I like the quiet atmosphere, service was pretty slow and they misheard our order. R200 for two mains, 2 drinks, and a naan - not bad. Good local Indian restaurant
Matthew Kretzschmar
Simply superb.Ā <br/><br/>We had as takeaways a non-veg mixed starter (not on the menu here but you can ask for it), chicken samosas, onion bhajis, chicken kadhai, butter chicken and a garlic naan. Great food, great tastes and by far the best value Indian food anywhere in the park suburbs.Ā <br/><br/>We will definitely be back - probably tomorrow and maybe even the next day!Ā <br/><br/>If I were to give any criticism, I would say go for medium if you like mild, but other than it was exceptional. Ten out of ten.
Tasneem Patel
The best Indian food in Jozi. Excellent service. Feel very welcomed when we go there. A truly hidden gem. We regularly eat at Taste of Punjab and always go back for more.
Gagan Goyal
Awesome food!!!!<br/><br/>One of the best food I have had in Joburg, they made special as per the requirements. I love the food @ Taste of Punjaab<br/><br/>Many thank to the service people also.
Vijay
I had a bad experience, they served cold roti to me and asked them to change all they did is warmed the same one and gave me ... That's really worst. This is at their sunninghil branch
Gary Greenberg
Been here for the second time in a long while. This restaurant is very quiet during lunch time - you are lucky of there are two other tables occupied. The quality of the food is good however it lacks those special layers of flavour. The korma sauce that they prepare is sweet and pleasant. The breads are well prepared and the prices are good. As usual Indian food is vegetarian friendly.
Ruairi Sheridan
Their chicken bunny chow on the lunch menu has saved my life several times. Highly recommended!
Merelda
Mediocre Indian food with slightly inflated price.<br/><br/>Taste of Punjab is located in a busy neighbourhood, Parkview. I honestly can't say much about it because it's just... normal. The menu selection is great, all the classic Indian dishes are there. I really adore butter chicken and theirs is probably the one I like the least. <br/><br/>I didn't have much complaint, but I heard the table next to us complaining to the manager that their steak is welldone instead of medium rare.<br/><br/>There are a lot more better options out there that offer a bigger portion with a cheaper price. <br/><br/>Bottomline: Mediocre.<br/><br/>Pros: Good location, fast service.<br/>Cons: Nothing impressive
Natalie Katz
What a lovely experience!! The food was amazing and the service was brilliant. The inside is cosy and you are greeted by Indian aromas, which are heavenly. They have a covered courtyard which is lovely, but a bit cold at night! Booking is essential, as the inside is fairly small. <br/><br/>They have a good wine list and an affordable menu! I would suggest going with more than two people so you get to try more than one curry! We ordered three curries with garlic naan- YUM! I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh, the Butter Chicken and the Kadhai Paneer. They were all superb. The flavours were well balanced and they added the perfect amount of chilli- I ordered medium to hot :) Their samosas are also yummy! They went the extra mile by giving us complimentary sambals and lemon pickle which is unlike Indian restaurants these days! <br/><br/>I highly recommend this place, and their takeaways are also great!
Julian Hibbert
Amazing traditional Indian! Hmmmmmmm!
Andy Mac
Cozy little place. .great curry was shovelled into my head along with a great rouge, which I can't remember. .but it was great!
Marita Wise
Taste of Punjab in Parkview is one of my favourite restaurants in Johannesburg.<br/>The service is outstanding and the friendly staff certainly make one feel welcome. Lovely ambience and excellent food makes this restaurant a must to try!!! We feel relaxed and happy when we leave this quaint spot.<br/>Enjoy!<br/>Ps. Unlike some restaurants- Taste of Punjab Parkview is also SPOTLESS!
Nicki Dadic
Takeaways on a lazy afternoon...the Chicken Korma and Butter Chicken dishes were delicious. Garlic Naan bread too! First time we've discovered this hidden gem and we'll definitely be back.
Audrey Schoeman
We had a lovely lunch at Taste of Punjab today. The covered courtyard outside the restaurant proper makes for a great setting for a relaxed meal and we made an event of it. The place was fairly empty - two other tables - but the service was never intrusive and the food was prompt but not rushed. <br/><br/>Starters were the onion bhajis and the pakoras - both light and tasty, not overly stodgy. I had the paneer palak, which was very good but not exceptionally memorable, while my husband enjoyed the lamb vindaloo immensely, and I fell head over heels for the side of channa masala. <br/><br/>All in all it was a fantastic meal and this place deserves to be busy. Please, give it a try!
SDeans
We've eaten at ToP multiple times and the dishes to try are tangri kabab, butter chicken, kadai paneer/chicken, lamb rogan josh, stuffed paratha and garlic naans.
Judy Engela
Wait staff were super friendly, but scarce. Waited for ages and ages for our bill, and because our takeaways didn't arrive before then, we left them behind! Such a pity, cuz the food was lovely.
Carel Bƶhmer
Best lamb vindaloo I have tasted! The service is exceptional, meals are reasonably priced, the wine list is fair. Located on the Parkview strip. Definitely add Taste of Punjab to your list of regulars!
Shannon Niebuhr
I've eaten at Taste of Punjab twice and I've been happily satisfied both times. I like Palak Paneer (spinach and cheese), and theirs is excellent. Today I went for the Lamb Saag, which is lamb with spinach gravy. I asked for it super-mild, but it still came out with a lovely flavor, so don't worry if you are as chili-phobic as I am, it will still taste great.<br/><br/>At lunch, the place was very quiet, so if you're in the neighborhood come by. You'll get served and fed very quickly!
Swimlittlefish
Taste of Punjab was Pride of India once upon a time, a slightly run down place featuring orange tablecloths, plastic flowers and an air of slight desperation. It always had amazing North Indian food at great prices though. It has since had a makeover, and the decor and service is considerably more upmarket, as are the prices. But the food is as good as ever. Creamy vegetarian curries like the dahl mahkni are worth checking out, and the naans and rotis are delectable. It's still cheaper than many other indian restaurants in town, and better than most.
