Review Picolino's - Johannesburg

Paul Rupert Oosthuizen
This is really a very very nice place to go to in this area. They have outdoor seating, seating under the roof or if you like you can sit at the bar. They serve the nicest pizza's. You can create your own with 17 diffirent options of what to put on the base. Here are several diffirent beers on tap or in a bottle. Sitting next to the pond is so relaxing with the water flowing and the duks swimming around. Just a wonderfull place.

Nice place to relax with good company Tried the Alfredo .....not bad at all I've had the pizzas as well and they were very tasty

Watched the rugby world cup final there. Atmosphere was awesome! Food is fantastic and the live music was top notch - Glen Webster. Unbelievable.

We stopped in for a quick business, meeting early Wednesday evening. I was surprised at the size of Picolinos, different corners, areas, levels, light or dark areas big or small tables for various people or groups. Friendly & helpful staff. The Wednesday Special was eat as much Pizza as you like for R99. We gave it a try! Pizzas have a thin crispy base the way I like it ! with no lack of topping. Tuesdays are 2 Burgers for the price of 1! We definitely are going back to give other options on the menu a try. We'll be back!!

Pizza was really good. The whole family and friends enjoyed their meals We loved the live music by Dave Abbott. It was a pleasant Sunday afternoon.

Pizza with your choice of toppings, great. Service, excellent. I have been coming here for a long time. (Long, long time) Always good.
Loula Evert-Smith
Service was good! Open air seating under thatch is amazing!! Ducks and little ducklings parading up and down...too precious!! Don't hear the traffic. Lots of parking..little shops to browse...very good pricing...great experience!!!
Marle van Heerden
Whether you like a chilled morning, afternoon or evening between trees and duckies, or an adrenaline rush with sport matches, you found the spot! With their very adorable food menu, Picolinos is the place to go. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!
Lance Braithwaite
Wonderful family restaurant! Service was great, pizza was absolutely fantastic, and there is a beautiful separate area to sit relax and allow kids to have fun and play in a safe environment. Highly recommended!!!
Willie Engelbrecht
The best pizzas 🍕 ever! You get a piece of paper to choose your toppings at no extra cost, except certain items. I've been going there for about 13 years! Rustic, good food, excellent service. 👌

Went for breakfast with family and kids. The kid's play area is spacious with swings, jungle gyms, a seesaw and some stationary ride on toys. There are shaded picnic tables nicely distributed in the area for parents/guardians. They only have 3 breakfast items on the menu. I had the English Breakfast which only comes with 1 slice of bread (😐); we asked for more 😆 (forgot to check how much we were charged for that). The breakfast was ok, nothing fancy. We paid approx. R110 per person for breakfast and a couple of cappuccinos, teas and water.
Robert Madzi
I've never seen pizza with such a generous amount of cheese. Just one slice made me realise how I wasn't gonna finish the whole pizza by myself. And the restaurant is àiry and outdoors. It's beautiful and hidden.
Nadine van Niekerk
Amazing pizza's and such a great place day or night.
Debby Boltman
What an amazing place to eat at with your kids. So much for them to do and adults fet to sit back and enjoy a great meal. We'll definitely be back!
Chris De Beer
Great outdoor venue. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Menu is small and pretty standard but they do deliver in flavor. The pizza is awesome. Create your own list with tick boxes. Service was very good.
HungryFitGirl
Such an awesome place for a get together with friends or family. The ambience is electric and happy, probably because Picos serves only the best pizzas I have ever had, and for such a great price. I mean look at this picture. 😍 Their desserts are not too bad either. They didn't have the Chocolate volcano so I settled for a warm apple dessert thing (forgot the name) which was absolutely delicious

Change my mind ✌️

For a Sunday afternoon awesome relaxing experience, you can't really get better. Unfortunately have always only had the pizza which is amazing so can't comment on the other dishes. Live music tops off a great end to the weekend.
Kris Barson
Never a dull moment at Picos.
The food is generally fantastic but once they removed snails and haloumi off the menu, I find myself looking for different options.
Pizza is always great and well priced for a sit down meal
Sara
Yummy yummy yummy pizza - great place to watch motogp and eat and eat and eat pizza. They also have some decent R&R’s (rum & raspberry). A nice place for kids as well.
Reshigan Moodley
Really nice chilled out spot in Fourways. Nice kids area. The pizzas ordered were really good. Only lost a few points for receiving a cold, tough steak. The manager, Lucky, though was excellent and offered to redo the dish or comp the meal. Very rare service indeed - he's a gem!!
Chanel Todd
Best pizza in the country 😍🍕 So impressed with the friendly staff and the fast service. Was also really glad to see that the Large pizza really is LARGE! 😂 We'll definitely keep coming back! 👏

This no frills, unassuming eatery is a relaxing step out of the busy city life of Jozi. Recently attending a birthday party, you can’t help but feel a touch of the farm life, kid and animal friendly (lots of huge chickens waltzing around), loads of space and rustic decor. Pizza is their thing and boy you won’t be disappointed! Great variety of carb dishes if pizza and pasta are what you in the mood for, but don’t dismiss their meat offerings. A prearranged menu was ordered for our party, with service running smoothly. They have all sorts of offerings for each day of the week. Enormous cocktails to keep the mood festive. Great value for money.
Paul Minnaar
Very good value on pizza. One price and a list of all sorts you could put on it, brilliant. Can take time to get your pizza though. Setting very rustic and enjoyable
Kyle Brummer
Absolutely disgusted by your staff and the lack of service! Last time we ordered take aways, our order was lost on collection and we had to wait over an hour for it to be re-made. We now call for a take away to be put on hold for 5 mins with staff laughing in the background and then for another staff member to come on the phone and tell me to call back in 5 mins and slam phone down in my ear! We will not be back and this will be told to all the families we know that support this establishment! Shocking service for a so called “family establishment”
Lexi
So disappointed in the service we received. We have been to Piccolinos often and always had great service but not tonight. I ordered a water and the glass was so disgustingly dirty that, (after downing half the glass) I noticed stuff floating around in the water as well as bits on the glass, as if it hadn't been cleaned. We then proceeded to ask for a take away and the bill, we waited about 15 minutes until we decided to find our waiter ourselves, to our horror he was standing around on his phone!? Not impressed
Chaseys Schroder
We went to venue on a Wednesday hoping to find the all you can eat special. Although the said advertisement wasn't available anymore, we got great service and more. The space is tranquil with a nice space for kids to roam safely, the pizza's which are build you own are amazing and by far the best pizzas I ever ate! Well done to them :-)
Mel38
Great vibe. Kid friendly. Lots of space. Went there with some friends and their kid to try the pizza. Waitor was rude and had no interest. The pizza isnt something as good as I'd hoped it be, but it went down alright with the hot sauce they have. Their cocktails are divine for this weather. All in all a good place to go with kids.
Natalie Lazaris
Rustic spring vibes on a Friday night with live music, wood fired piźza and beer. Best part is that you choose your own toppings and create your piźza to your taste. Place is busy with a very mixed crowd of young and older. It's a bit loud and well the drinks are flowing, so the party starts. If your in the mood for that it's great. Pizzas are great, generously large.
I enjoyed the no fuss atmosphere, try it.
Zoë Dorothy Brentano
Can't really find fault in Picolinos, apart from it being a bit difficult to find as the sign can't be seen at night. Booked for 26 people via Facebook and it was responded to quickly. The tables were inside near the fire, which is fantastic in winter. We had two very attentive and friendly waiters. Pizzas are design your own with various free toppings and a set price for small, medium and large. They are fresh and cheesy and well worth the wait. Other food includes a steak egg and chips special, burgers and salads. In terms of drinks there are varieties of jars and some craft beer. One gentleman at our table said he considered going home because outside it looked like a dump but he really enjoyed it and would like to go back. Overall there was fantastic service, food and drinks and the live entertainment was a bonus.
#rateaplate
Picolinos is a nice kuier joint where all ages goes for a good time! The vibe is always happening and the food is good enough! Just be careful as it has been heard that fights or muggings has happened there before
Leverne Mountany
Good hearty fare. Love that they deliver and excellent vegetarian combos that you can create yourself. Setting is rustic but family friendly. Service good.
Sam Mangold
I love Picolinos pizza! I think that it's so reasonably priced considering you can have as many toppings as you like on your pizza with no additional charge unless you want fancier options.

Their pregos and cocktails are also really good. Sometimes the food takes a bit long to be served and it would be nice if they had a wider dessert selection, but all in all, the vibe is wonderful and the food is good - on weekends during the day it's a comfy family spot and on Friday nights it can be quite the party.
Gabe
Went over with family & friends , to order 35minutes waiting for pizza another 45min kids where getting completely tired of waiting,
Nice ambiance, love the set up , but service has so much to be desired , including wiping a table clean after picking up from a client who has left, ash trays never arrived,
In all the grate pizzas arrived , cold as where standing at least for 10min , as where sitting in place where we could see it.
Help your waiters to be faster.
We will be back as we love the spot.

Casual and Relaxed: pizza, drinks and pub quiz night

We recently moved to the Fourways area and stumbled upon Picolinos one evening. It reminds me of Parkhurst's Jolly Cools in that it is a relaxed, grubby place but fitting for a good pizza and a few drinks with friends.

The restaurant is tucked away but I was pleasantly surprised as to how much space they have. It seems like an ideal place for anyone with kids as there is a large play area. The atmostphere is laidback - don't be surprised to see an adorable doggie, some chickens and maybe a duck around.

The first time we visited we tried their pizzas. We were given a piece of paper to tick to indicate what toppings we wanted and what size pizza we would like. It would be great if they expanded their topping options especially to cater for vegetarians. I ordered a feta and avo pizza with chilli and garlic. It was really tasty. The crust was thin and it really reminded me of the pizzas you can get at Jolly Rogers and Jolly Cools in Parkhust.

The second time we visited, I ordered sushi... a bit of a risky order. It certainly was not the best sushi I have ever eaten but it was okay and to be honest, I'd order it again. My boyfriend ordered the vegetarian lasagne which was a great portion size. He enjoyed it. We joined in on the Pub Quiz which happens every Thursday night. If you do decide to grab some mates for the quiz, I would recommend booking a table as it is very popular. Teams can't be made up of more than 6 people and definitely bring a mascot.

Overall, this is the perfect place for a few casual drinks and pizzas with friends. Food and drinks are well priced but it certainly won't be a foodie experience.
Gemma Schaap
This is our favorite go-to restaurant for pizza. Last night we were served by Matthew who was so attentive and friendly. His service skills were amazing and made our dinner so pleasant. Their pizzas are tasty, you can start with a base and add extras on without extra charge (unless you are adding a few extras like avo and feta). Pizzas are all cooked in a wood fired oven adding that extra crisp taste. We will definately return on a quiz night for more fun and good food.

BEST PIZZA IN THE WHOLE WORLD!! I love almost everything about Picolinos - and I'll proudly say that it's one of my local hang-outs/ watering holes! Once/twice a week just isn't enough!

The atmosphere, the vibe, the ducks, chickens, all the families, friends as well as the friendly staff - absolutely everything about this place feels welcoming!

My highly recommended favorites are: the Pizza (obviously), the Vegetarian Lasagna, the Soup, the Chicken Salad and even their Sushi! (The Sushi is slightly overpriced - but still so good!)

The fact that you can put whatever you want on your pizza gives me goosebumps!! And their green (I think it's Jalapeño) sauce makes your pizza - P.E.R.F.EC.T!!
Julie Wilson
As always - food superb (the little extra wait is always worth it). Exceptional staff. Fab "on the way home" place. A little hidden treasures that is pet friendly caters for all age groups. Love it!

Have only been here once and would not hurry back anytime soon. Admittedly we were in a group of about 8 but the service was slow. The waiter forgot both to ask for my order twice (drinks and food) and place my order; other members of the table also struggled to place their order because he overlooked them. The pizza was okay but I have had many much nicer pizzas before. I wouldn't recommend this venue.
NicBLAZE
This place is awesome for a sunday meetup. to watch the game with some mates and enjoy some of their legendary pizza's

It was my first time here a couple weeks back for a friends going away party. and we really enjoyed it.
5liter beers and some freshly prepared pizza always works out great.

The service can be a bit slow, but when you enjoying a cold beer while the football is on you dont notice it as much, besides that and the bee's this place is near perfect.

will be back soon to play some football and eat more pizza.
Gramo
Nice place for the vibe, they best known for there pizzas so try that first
Service is good not great so you never really
Know what to expect
All around good place to go for pizza and cold beer
Not a place you want to have your first date

Quick update: so I took my family there today, and pizza still great but service is still needing to be upped a little so expect a little delay
Other than that good place for kiddies they made the play area a lot better
TheHungryKat
This little place is a little hard to find at first but is so beautiful when you do find it. It's a wonderful, family friendly venue with a lovely kids play area. We ordered the pizza which is wood fired and tasted pretty good.
Andrea L
I'm a big fan of their pizzas and sushi.

Service can sometimes be on the slow side, as it's very big, but I love the outdoor setting with the chickens and ducks running around. It's also pet-friendly, which is a plus for me.
Brett Cooper
I have been coming here since the kids were below my knee. Not fine dining but a chilled atmosphere. The pizzas are great but some of the other meals a little inconsistent. Nice place to spend an afternoon
Carmen Purkiss
I know this place has been around for years but I must say, the Pizza is fantastic and at a great price too. They have also added a new "kids'" area so has become a lot more family orientated. No frills, no spills, just a great place to have a chilled pizza and some drinks.
Eve
My partner loves this spot. I was quite indifferent about it.I didn't hate my meal b ut it didn't blow my hair back either. Its got a great set up, its almost in a little garden, each table is hidden between trees etc. That was cool.

Good vibe to the place and it seems to be quite popular
UThingolwenkosazana
Went to this place in 2013 and I fell in love with their pizza! Wood oven baked pizza is best made here!. The surrounding is great too, very natural and calming. It's great for a chill out session and I love the location
Stephen Castle
Great for family and friends. Food is good. Service is good. Menu is standard pub grub. Prices are fair. Worth the visit. Kids play area is good.
Fifi Nwabuebo
Wow.the pizzas are super awesome.the service is great too.drinks are cheap.and my daughter had too much fun playing.its a great place for families great way to spend an afternoon
Mark James Dorward
I love this place.
Rustic and doesn't try too hard.
Great wood fire pizza and well priced beer.
Fire place for when it's cold.
I'm new to Jozi, but this is going to be my local.
Zoe Lansdell
Let's be honest, this place is what one would consider a dive... That said, it's perfect for an affordable meal, cheap drinks and it can be quite the night out. They have live music on Fridays which adds to the vibe. As long as you're with a good bunch of friends you can make it a party. The pizza's are really nice, you get your own little slip to choose your toppings (which are generous). Booze is nice and affordable. Pets are welcome which is also nice. Overall it's good for a chilled night out. If you're expecting fantastic service, then don't bother. They can be a bit slow, but it's not so bad that it will ruin your night - unless you let it. It's good fun!
Emily Smith
Picolinos has been our local hangout for many years now. It has an awesome outdoor setting and a bevy of chickens and ducks running around that often have adorable babies adding to the wonderful eclectic atmosphere.
The pizzas at Picolinos are always great, there's a flat rate per size and you can add as many toppings as you like and the service is always quick and friendly.
Maxine
For Dads birthday on 3 Aug (voting day) he wanted a place that had a vibe and good pizza so we decided to give Picolinos a try and I wish we hadn't even bothered. I would like to point out that our waiter was lovely, it was the kitchen and lack of manager present that let him down. We ordered 3 x haloumi and 1 x snails for starters that all came cold. We did ask for the manager and the poor guy who came over and took all the flack from us and the table next to us was definitely not the manager. There was no manager on duty which I'm sure was the result of the chaos. We decided to rather cancel all orders, pay for what we had and leave. I won't be back anytime soon.
Thabsibmajija
Just delicious. Bacon, pepperoni, feta, chillies and garlic. Filling and worthwhile.
Our waiter was friendly and cool. The owner, Ted, the nicest man you could meet.

Sorry about the pic.

Definitely a place to come.
Deborah-Anne Strydom
This is a "great" place for families.... HOWEVER
The service is appalling... tables seated, ordered, and left in the time it has taken to suddenly find our order, only after prompting. And tables of more than 4 (a table of 9...ordering pizza). All we get is surprise looks and excuses from the wait staff, as they themselves are not being informed or managed correctly. The management is also conspicuous in their absence.
Will not be back, will certainly not be recommending the place to others.
I appreciate it's a Sunday, but service like this is deplorable. Over an hour from order and we are still waiting... The "free" bread does in no way make up for the lack of communication and then follow up.
Clara Namnick
Definitely a great place for a relaxed Sunday or Saturday lunch with family and friends. Have to say that I only have their pizza- which I think is the best in jozi.
Leigh Robinson
We come here often. The pizza is amazing and the kids can run around while we chat. The variety in the menu is great. I even had my daughters birthday party here. They loved it.
Michella Ferreira Pellegrino
A treat for the family. A little diamond in the rough. You have the feeling that you going back to basics and having the feeling you in nature, with chicken running around. It's a nice change from the bling you constantly surrounded with.
You sit down and feel you in a little lodge, where they cater crafty activities for the children and have an amazing play area. My children especially loved painting the candles, my son painted a cat and my daughter an owl. It was great having them get the feel of nature and their creative juices going, just a few minutes away from home. These activities do have a small fee, so don't forget to take cash!

I was so impressed with each an every meal our table ordered. My daughter had the fettuccini Alfredo, 7/10. I had the beef prego, 8/10, and my son the pizza, which you get to select all your ingredients for 9/10.
All their meals were great, and they are very well priced.

I would defiantly make this a family getaway spot going forward. I am just sad that my battery died after taking my first family pic so I can't share meal pics, but I will be back!
Wayne Henry
Another great establishment, a place for children & adults. Good food, excellent ambience & very social... Food is amazing make your own pizza, waiters are quick & helpful, enjoy the sports on all the tv's, enough parking secure... Just truly love this place ... Caters for your every need...
ROBERT ELLIS
What a great setting for an afternoon of delicious pizza and a social occasion. A place for all types, we were very well served, drinks were flowing and a great time was had. There is a great vibe here and you get to choose what you want on your pizzas. Highly recommendable to anyone wanting a good social setting with good food and drink and great service
Diederik Van 't Hof
Fantastic family spot. You go for the pizzas or burgers. Choose the toppings yourself, and the really yummy pizzas arrive. The spot gets very busy which is a testament to the quality.

Lots for the kids - swings, go-carts and climbing frames. Has some really cool little shops as well, and a nursery.
Sumendra Narismulu
Finally got to try picolinos! From the outside and when getting in it doesn't look like much! The sign on the outside is a bit dark so I wasn't too sure where I was! The pizzas were really good, the concept of choosing toppings is greats, especially when there is quite a selection of free toppings! The pizzas were great, we really enjoyed it, an I couldn't actually finish it even though I ordered a medium! Will be back soon!!
FoodieM
Booked a 45 seater table here for Sunday 20/03 well in advance. Was well impressed with the follow up calls confirming along with and confirmation on the day. We booked an area close to the "family area" they informed us the area we wanted couldn't hold 45, but made a great plan for us. Service from 1 waiter was great considering we where a party table, he managed all our orders well, drinks where plenty... Even with the problems from weeks before, all staff where up beat and very pleasant. Atmosphere: 4 (would have been nice to have tv for the t20, or some music going) service 5, cleanliness 3.5, food 4. Always a great venue and vibe, will be back for more 😊 overall a 4
Warren
This rustic restaurant has s choice of undercover or full outdoors
We sat undercover and were immediately served and placed our drinks order
We then had no less than 4 staff come to our table to enquirer if all was ok, and each time we responded that we had ordered drinks already and were waiting
Eventually our original waiter came back to take our food order BUY still no drinks.

We all ordered the pizza, which for those that have never been here must know, it's build your own toppings.

We were a little nervous that we may see the sun go down waiting for food, if the drinks took so long.
Thankfully our drinks arrived and were ice cold and we immediately ordered our second round.

Our drinks seemed to flow from thereafter and the pizzas were definitely not late and were all great tasting with the unusual topping selections we all made.

All in all good fun and a great day in the sun.
Shaun Mackrory
Definitely not somewhere you would take that special someone on a romantic date. But average pizzas and a good party for you and your mates . Service needs some serious looking into. You just about have to go find your waiter if you need anything.
Stephanie Erasmus
I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and his family on Saturday, I was looking forward to having a nice big pizza as my cheat meal for the week!

The experience was absolutely shocking. Our waitress was so slow, absent and also had a bad attitude.

My pizza had no tomato base and was really bland, I am truly upset with this experience, as I have been looking forward to try their pizzas for quite some time now.

My boyfriend's pizza was also tampered with (they put capers on, and then ticked the caper box). He didn't add capers, and the tick looked completely different from the ones he made.

Overall really disappointed, it's unfortunate that I have nothing good to say about my experience.
Travis Campbell
I was so excited to return here after a couple years as my previous experiences at Picolinos have always been fantastic. Their Pizza's have always been exceptional and the atmosphere delightful, especially on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

After my last visit, however, it is highly unlikely that I will be returning.

Our waiter was extremely slow and absent at the best of times and I was quite shocked at the fact that I had to ask her for our menus after waiting for nearly 15 minutes.

The food this time round was anything but exceptional. My girlfriends pizza was flavourless and had pretty much no tomato base, my Mom's steak was very gristly and I'm 99% sure that my Pizza order was tampered with.

Very disappointed in Picolinos for delivering such a mediocre dining experience.

Duncan Wakeford
Great outdoor restaurant for the family. Very relaxed environment for the kids to play. Just a pity the mushrooms were not wash which lead us to believe we had hair in our food.
Eat More!
I've only ever had pizza at Picolinos but they are delicious every time! I love their menu concept and that they charge a flat rate for any toppings (some exceptions). Service is very friendly but often on the slower side. Love the vibe here, and you're always guaranteed a great time!
Love.Life.Daley
This is FAR from a fine-dining atmosphere but if you're looking for a chilled hang out with a group of friends and delicious pizza then I'd really recommend it. It can get pretty loud though with the live music on certain nights and the service isn't mind-blowing either but it does the job.

I really like the unique way you order pizza's here as you can choose as many toppings as you want and just pay for the size you order (R60-small, R70-medium and R80-large) except for a few ingredients that cost a bit extra. They also have wicked cocktails served in jam jars!
Gregg
We go there all the time, love the pizza and the vibe, but the service is something that can be worked on. Not enough to keep us away, but definitely something that needs attention.
Katy Porter
Have been to Picolinos a couple of times before for it's convenient location & great kids play area! Today far surpassed every previous experience - whilst the pizzas were fabulous (hot, fresh and loaded with toppings), the service we received from our Waiter, Donald was absolutely remarkable - attentive, proactive and incredibly hospitable, really worth special mention. Great venue for summer dinners outdoors and boasts a vibey atmosphere!
Kelly
Delicious pizzas- everytime!
Went for a lunch with friends for my husbands 30th.....
There were about 45 of us and the service was really good! They were there when we needed them and the pizzas were good as always! Great vibe!
Rhian Doc
Picolinos is a real hidden gem just off of Witkoppen. A rather large venue but tables are cleverly placed in amongst the trees and the cute duck pond adds to the environment. The build your own pizza is genius, as (come on) we all know what we want and like on our pizzas. The quality of the food was good. Although we can only comment on the pizzas, the other food coming out of the kitchen looked decent. The service on arrival was excellent but as it got busier it was more difficult to tie our waiter down. Although we went as a couple and enjoyed a few drinks, there were load of families around as there was a children's play area. Overall a good balance of family friendly and boozy couples.
Alexandra Horne
One of my favourite pizza places for the past 7 years. I have tried many restaurants and still Pico's just does it differently. They are VALUE for money, relaxed family place and a great vibe. Would recommend them to any pizza lover such as myself.
Melishni Achary
Had a birthday party here.Waiters are so slow and not helpful at all!It is a cool outdoor venue but the slow waiters with attitude spoils the whole experience.Sad and disappointing!
Candice Gerber
Without fail this laid back venue doesn't disappoint, cocktails pizza and sports channels makes for a vibrant atmosphere and social scene. If you are wanting to build your own pizza this place is perfect. We keep coming back and it's no wonder why.
Dilene Cranna
Picolinos never disappoints!! Good pizza, good drink and awesome company is the perfect recipe for an evening to remember! Thank you Picolinos for your consistency in good food and drink, you can teach this industry some tricks.
Jaime The Jambo
Well, the food was less than average, both ribs and pizzas were very dry, quite disappointed... service was incredibly slow. Though the chocolate milkshake was actually nice, the waiter was sweet... but as for the food... Eish. Love. Jambo.
Keene
Service is not good (especially when busy) other than that, if you are looking for pizza's then this is a place you HAVE to go. My advise is you must put ribs on your pizza. I really enjoy the fact that you get a slip and are able to choose exactly what you want on you pizza.👍I would come back anytime to order pizza from here again!👌
Hana
Love this place. Situated in Fourways just off Witkoppen, it is quite a drive for us that live in the East. Still worth a visit though. I organised my husbands 30th birthday party here several years ago and everyone had a blast playing soccer and eatinpg the platters that had been ordered. The service is good and it is always crowded on a weekend. On the other side is a nice kid's play area. Definitely worth a shot if you are close by.
Michelle Krause
We finally decided to go the famous Picolinos. We were impressed. It was very busy inside so we sat outside. Received good service and the pizzas was delicious. Looking forward to our next visit-probably a lunch visit.
Jessica
Great vibe, been here for sports matches (plenty of TV's) birthdays, catch ups - the lot. Known for their 'make-your-own-pizza' just watch out, they mark pizzas in the oven with stones and when it gets busy sometimes forget to remove them... Not so fun to bite into.
Kelly Emerton
Cozy and laid back pizza joint in the heart of Fourways. I'm not going to lie, the place looks like a dive, but that's the appeal. It's relaxed atmosphere is complemented perfectly by the open fires and occasional chicken pecking at your feet. The pizzas are made just the way I like it, a thin crispy crust with tons of delicious toppings
Nikki Alice
Picolinos has got a very chilled vibe, which is perfect for those days when you don't wanna get all dressed up just to catch up with some friends. The food portions are generous and the make your own pizza selections are delicious. And the drinks are affordable.
Marnich Winterbach
One of my favourite restaurants in jhb.
The atmosphere here is very relaxed and the build your own pizza is addictive. Prices are very reasonable and the service is also good
Chris Hartman
Picolinos is a slightly obscure spot to find, tucked away behind what looks like an industrial DIY store. Inside is a great layout, with separate thatch covered tables and a fair size kids area for older kids.

A touch cold in winter, but great on a warm day. The kids area could do with some child minders and a bit could be done to improve the overall safety. During our visit 3 kids almost plunged to certain death off the seesaw in separate incidents, a rubber mat would definitely add an element of safety.

Pizza is great, the rest of the food is middle of the road average to slightly below.

So all in all, pop in, grab a pizza and stay off the seesaw
Christiaan Du Plessis
Amazing place. Out of sight with good food and atmosphere. Well priced with a stuffed pizza there is nothing better
Will definitely come here again

Definitely one of my favorite pizza joints!! All of their pizzas are 'choose your own toppings' and they are very generous with their toppings!! Their pizza sizes are fantastic and they even have an extra large size for when you're really hungry (me - all the time). Great atmosphere with good food under a thatched lapa.. Perfect for the winter chill. 🍕

Picolinos offers an 'escape' form fourways in fourways;) Enjoy having a few drinks after work and choosing my own ingredients for my pizza. I really enjoy the vibe, the live band and my pizza has always been delicious.

I live the vibe and set up of this place! My pizza wasn't the best last time, however it was very busy so soon I'd like to go again and re - assess! Been going for years and still love the place though.
Lisa
Good place to have a drink but definitely no food. The service is bad and the pizza was terrible. Took forever to get my food and it was not busy
Tanya
This place is absolutely amazing! I have ordered food from them for delivery on numerous occasions. They are quick and the food is fantastic!

Nice chilled out, outdoor spot in busy urban fourways. Good pizza and prego rolls, friendly bar vibe. Nice place to watch live sport and look at a chicken and a duck while socialising over a few drinks with friends.

Hidden off a gravel type road by witkoppen is this little family oriented restaurant. Known for their pizzas, they have a separate play area for kids to run around and do their thing. It was nice sitting outside on the bench type tables enjoying the sunshine with a chilled atmosphere

I have been to picolinos many times as it has a good vibe and seriously delicious pizza. I have tried other food on the menu before, but was not impressed and would definitely suggest that when going to picos that you have a pizza.

This spot is tucked away in a strange and relatively unkept area. I suppose others will call it "rustic" but I think it's messy. As for the decor and layout, that is rustic too. The waitstaff can be conspicuously visible by their absence so don't be surprised to have to go look for one. Now for the surprises; great bang for buck value and excellent Eisbein. Better in fact than I had in most German eateries in recent years. The pizza is not bad either.
Michelle
Decor is in the garden setting with ducks and geese walking around you.
Service is a bit slow.
Not bad for a lunch, I like the design your own pizza from scratch.Pizza's are awesome!
Prices are really cheap.

This must be close to the perfect venue to take kids for lunch on a Sunday. Lots of things to do and a spacious play area. Make your own pizza, don't bother to order a large, medium will suffice. Will be back...

Nice place to bring the kids but had very bad service, we had to constantly call our waitor and our food took forever and they weren't even busy. Had a chicken and halloumi salad which was horrible, the cheese was dry and rubbery and the chicken was un appealing.

Have come here before and the service was ok and had the pizza which was amazing. Today came here and the service was awful. We waited over an hour for our food, our waiter didn't come back to ask to refill our drinks. The place wasn't even that busy. When we finally got our food, which was burgers, I was very disappointed. They were small, chips were over done and waaaay too crispy. So yea, I think if ur gonna go to this place, don't expect fast service and stick to the pizzas.

I like the fact that you can pick and choose your toppings. Great day out with good pizza!

Loved the ambience and setting. . We ordered the escargot and three types of pizza, which were all brilliant. However, the ambience was what made it so amazing for us :) perfect place for a family lunch during the weekend!

Oasis in busy Fourways! Look, I've been hearing about Picolinos for years! Our friends raved over their pizzas. And quite a while back I made a point of driving in there ... looked around, but I'm positive I looked at the wrong place. It didn't grab me at all.

Yesterday Hein said I must meet him there for lunch ... I thought, uggh. I walked in and was absolutely shocked! What is this lovely rusty and peaceful place? I didn't recognise it from my previous visit, so I definitely went to the wrong place. We sat next to the dam, watched a floating crocodile head and a duck in the water.

Place is big, there's tv's for sport and a fireplace for colder days. Trees are all around and chickens & cats stroll in-between the benches. There's a nail salon and a small shop filled with clothes, jewellery and hats. Worth checking out.

Service is good and managers are on site.

We decided to share a pizza (and boy, the pizzas are huge! I think they're about 45 cm in diameter!) but looking at the menu, we decided on a Burger Pie Calzone. It took quite a while, cause the patties were still frozen, but when it arrived ... wow, it was big!!! For R85 to share, very reasonable.

Really tasty, filled with gooey cheese, the patties and tomato relish. The hot sauces on the side are really yummy too!

It was a lovely experience and I really soaked in the peaceful atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

I would like to update my review on this little place as the last time I was there, not only was my 'written down order' wrong twice, but the pizza wasn't good when it eventually did arrive. This visit, however, was a pleasant and completely different story!I was invited recently, to a fancy dress birthday lunch at Picolinos and I actually found the pizza much improved and the beer ice cold! I also found the service to be much-improved and they made a big fuss of the birthday girl! Well done Picolinos! :)

The food is always good, but don't expect quick service from the kitchen.

Picolinos pizza is situated in Fourways and has a separate take away option as well which is at the entrance. The venue is a farm like setting and more suited for sunny days. There is a great vibe and kids playing facilities. The pizzas are delicious and a large pizza feeds 3-4 people. Although the food is good, the service is really bad and we had to wait a long time before the pizza arrived. There was no order in how the waiters did things. 5 different waiters served us. We did go at month end and ut was very busy. Nevertheless, it is a great place to visit.

Picolinos is a great pizzeria, you are given the option to design your own pizza which is really cool! The restaurant is a little exposed but it is really comfortable with a really big 360• fire place next to the bar and restaurant, Picolinos is the escape from general restaurants situated in malls and other entertainment centers which is something I really enjoyed. If you haven't been to Picolinos before, it's a must!

Great Pizza, perfect place for lunch with kids but my only issue with this place is you cannot just arrive on the weekend for lunch. They have accepted every booking that's come their way and you can't pop in for a quick pizza at 12 cos tables are booked from 2. They are losing money as could turn a lot more if they just restricted bookings and let walk ins enjoy a quick meal.

Lovely place. Service not so good.

I've never had a bad time here! Pizza's are enormous and very well priced (I've never ordered anything else and the price is standard no matter how many toppings you choose!) the outdoor setting is great and very vibey, you won't be disappointed! They've started to bring in a pretty good selection of craft beers, not the usual ones though which is quite refreshing. You can literally just arrive (you may want to book if you're in a group) and just enjoy a weekend afternoon completely relaxed for a good couple of hours.

I've lived in Fourways for a few years now and I didn't even know this place existed! I asked for a pizza slip and made up my own pizza which was delicious. They have a homemade peri-peri sauce which was also fantastic. Vibe was so relaxed, we went for dinner and there were lot's of people socializing at the bar or in big groups on a table. It's the kind of place you can go in your Sunday home clothes and fit right in. The center itself is very quaint and rustic which makes it a great lunch spot too. Kids will love it as it has the whole farmyard atmosphere going, with chickens and ducks everywhere. I will definitely be going back, what a find!
I've had to update my review on Picolinos as I recently went back and was rather disappointed with the food. To be clear, their pizza is FANTASTIC but everything else on their menu sadly falls way below standards. The vibe and service is still great but due to my disappointing meal I've had to bring down my rating of them.

Terrible service personified by useless and unfriendly waiters.

I love Picolinos! It is one of those lunch....stay for dinner spots. Very casual and rustic. The perfect spot for catching up with friends. I love the fact that there is entertainment for the kids. The whole outside vibe makes it feel like a day out in the countryside. The pizzas is of course the signature dish, well for me at least. They have a concept of filling in a little pizza sheet with basic toppings and extras for you to build your own pizza. You write down your name and table number and your specific pizza is served with a smile. Portions are very generous, ladies will have left overs for breakfast and lunch from a large :-). My vegetarian friend requested that her pizza be cut with a clean pizza cutter to ensure no meat transfer. We were very impressed when the waiter arrived at the table with a clean cutter doing the cutting in front of her. I really thought that was a nice personal touch with a smile as well. The only thing that can be improved, partly due to renovations, is the state of the toilet facilities. They now have take-away options as well which i will definitely consider in future over other pizza places.
