An absolutely beautiful and tranquil restaurant. Both the food and the service was great. I would highly recommend this place. A few hours at Olive and Twist feels Ike a weekend away.

When ever Pizza comes to mind think Olive ń Twist. All their food is good but their pizza is what drives me crazy.

After seeing this on Zomato and realising it's about 200m from my house I got a chicken mayo pizza take away from them.
The staff were incredibly friendly and fell all over themselves to be of service but keep in mind that they only had two tables with people so I don't know what it is like when they are busy. I would like to think that they are their same friendly, helpful selves.
I waited about 10 minutes for the pizza and it was really delicious with a lot of filling.
I do think that for a take out R101 (odd amount) for a pizza is a little expensive but I suppose for a restaurant this is the norm (not sure).
The decor is really lovely with pictures of Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, etc on the walls. It looks like a lovely setting to have a relaxed meal with family and friends.
Short of the price tag, which I guess is not way off, I cannot fault them. Thank you for great service and a delicious pizza
Decent food, friendly staff and awesome kids play area where parents can watch while kids play. Not recommended for breakfast buffet - was sadly disappointing. But we come often for lunch and dinner and enjoy our meals.
Here in north riding we are blessed with so many pizza joints in close proximity, today was olive and twist’s turn. We opted for uber eats option so cannot really comment on the establishment or staff.
So lets get to the real important stuff, the food. To be honest the pizzas are just okay, miles ahead of the likes of debonairs or pizza hut but lacking behind its peers of “specialised” pizza joint. The toppings are generous and actually of good quality but its the pizza base that is disappointing, its thick, chewy (not in the good way) and just not what i like in a pizza base. The chicken mayo was good with decent amount of chicken. They have nice additional extras to build your own pizza. So better than the heavily commercialised places but lacking behind its competition in this neighborhood
One of the first places we visited when we started dating. We often forget about it when we decide where to go - but we REALLY shouldn't!
When we went there they had two birthday parties inside so we sat outside. The food came really quick for such a busy night! It was amazing. Romantic candle lit garden with clean tables - which means something because most places leave outside tables dirty.
Don't be a sheep, sit outside when you visit. It's so worth it!
Great family restaurant. Pizzas are top class. They have a little bar area which is good for watching the games. Management are hands on. Will be back
Another restaurant that has been on the waiting list for a while... lovely outdoor seating on the deck... friendly service without management hounding you as you take your first mouthful... we started with the focaccia, awesome thin base with a slight coating of mozzarella and herbs, it did need more garlic... the egg and steak was reasonably priced and cooked perfectly, it was served with a good sized and nicely dressed salad... the Uncles pizza, topped with bacon, figs and cherry tomatoes was a brilliant combination ... however it needed something else, maybe some herbs or garlic, maybe chillies?? Not too sure, just a little lacking... wonderful Sunday lunch with incredible company...
We went to Olive n Twist for a birthday and had such a lovely experience! It is beautiful there and we loved their little italian buffet! Lasagne is a must there and we look forward to our return.

We tend to only order pizzas and sushi whenever we go to Olive n Twist. The pizzas are fantastic and everyone has their favorite.

Went here for a friends birthday dinner & really enjoyed it! The menu has lots of delicious items & the service was good. I had grilled chicken breast with onions and avo and a side salad. It was delicious but unfortunately my chicken was abit raw in the middle. Will be back to try their pizzas!
Beautiful setting and divine food. We had delicious scampi prawns for starters, fillet steak done just as we asked for mains and ice cream for dessert. Bought the Groupon special and staff were extremely accommodating. Efficient service and attentive owner. Prices are reasonable as well. Will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful venue in summer outside under the trees or winter's are warm and cosy inside the main restaurant. Sports is on on Saturday afternoons, so head down for a few beers and the rugger. Ample parking and great service - the owner's are amazing. They even have a little upstairs venue with great views out of the city. We joined a group that had already ordered sushi platters, which were good and I would love to return to try the a la carte menu soon!
Great restaurant for a family outing. Plenty of entertainment for the kids, as well as Craft beer on tap for the adults. Food and service is good. And management involvement is evident!
This is really a gem of a restaurant! Located in a nursery, it has a wonderful kids play area, goats, chickens and guinea pigs roaming around (the goats are in a pen), and a lovely natural setting overall.
I had the mussel hot pot, which was divine. The mussels were a bit small, but the sauce was delicious. For mains I had the Southern chicken wrap, which was the best decision I made all day. I will definitely go back go try other items on the menu, as well as the cocktails!
Tucked away in an awesome little center you'll find an amazing restaurant. I have attended numerous dinners and functions at Olive and non of them have ever let me down. The pizza is good and the sushi fresh and tastey. The deck area is well suited for all types of functions - 21st, wedding ceremony and reception, baby shower, birthday celebrations, any reason to celebrate actually. The manager and staff are accommodating and friendly. The outside gardens are perfectly suited for lunch and/or dinner. You won't be disappointed.

Olive n Twist is found tucked away in the Stepping stones garden village, and is surrounded by some very beautiful gardens. It is like stepping out of Joburg and finding yourself somewhere else entirely. There is plenty of seating options available, with plenty of space for all different functions.
The children's play area is bright, and colourful, and brings out the inner child in some adults as well.
The service can be a little slower, but when you are in such a rustic environment, it is rather pleasant not to be rushed while catching up over some fresh fruit juice (or a cocktail). The staff are very friendly and helpful, and are around when you do need service (but not lurking in that way that makes you feel like you wasting their time, and they want you to hurry up and make up your mind).
The food is always freshly prepared and delicious. The buffet breakfast can get very busy, and has regular visitors (so book a spot if you want to try that one out). The pulled pork burger actually has a decent amount of filling and is bursting with flavour. And the salads are always fresh.
Definitely recommended if you looking for a lovely meal away from the rest of the usual joburg stress.
Went yesterday to Olive and Twist. Not my first visit. As usual the food was good quality for the price. I had grilled chicken breast with rice for R69. The rice was good and chicken well prepared. What's fantastic is the setting. The outside is geared for families with kids play section and lovely garden.
The gardens are lovely and the play areas are great for parties. However, the service is very very... Very slow! As for the pizza, the red chicken is off putting a it tasted like someone opened the salt cellar all over, we were able to tell the manager, he was very accommodating and took it off our bill. Hope they fine the over salted ingredient culprit.
Tucked away behind "the Windsurfer" this is a less known non-franchise restaurant. The garden is a cooler option than the deck under canvas, with a great jungle gym for the kids, Guinea pigs, goats & chickens are on the loose, adding to an informal atmosphere. Salads were fresh, helpings were a good size, pizza was delicious and generous, drinks were not overpriced. Great place for a relaxed meal that won't break the budget.

Disappointing visit last night. Indifferent staff more focussed on going home than on service, and the food was bland. Had a T-bone which came as ordered - rare - and with a Blue Cheese sauce. Had to scrape the sauce off as the taste was not for me. The veggies were not cooked - butternut was hard and the spinach tasteless.

Very pleasant little place tucked away in Honeydew. Beautiful gardens with resident chickens that visit occasionally in the restaurant. Lovely canvas covered deck for the warmer days, or you can sit inside. The menu is very varied - salads, pizzas, pastas and meat. The "Oom fillet" and the "Blue Rock fillet" would be my recommendations..
Always a lovely place to eat. One of the few places to sit in a beautiful tranquil garden setting and eat in Joburg. Food is basic Italian fare - well cooked . Pizzas are yummy and I have yet to be disappointed with anything I have ordered.
Staff are friendly and helpful but service can be a little slow. To be honest when sipping on my Sangria and sitting in such peaceful, lush surroundings that doesn't bother me at all!

I believe the BEST Chicken Schnitzel i have ever tasted, moist chicken, plenty of cheese sauce and topped with fresh avocado.

We were treated to breakfast here this morning by very dear friends of ours. The setting is gorgeous and very child-friendly: there are farm animals for children to look at as well as a jumping castle for them to play on. They offered us a buffet for breakfast that consists of your usual cereals, fruits, yoghurts and English breakfast. The food is tasty but the service leaves a little to be desired, which is made up for by the company as well as the beautiful setting.
Pizza was delicious. Service was lacking in places and they forgot the chili on my pizza, but it was still a very nice experience! The venue is beautiful. Would like to go back during the day.
I was invited here for a birthday party and really enjoyed both the food and service - Olive n Twist's combination of snacks on the night for my friend Hayden, included sushi and pizza which was really yummy and I just loved the location (although it did take me quite a while to find the place on the night)!
This is a perfect little place for families. Kids will love the Jungle Gym and the farm animals in the open area outside, which is also perfect for a birthday party. Their pizza was very nice and to our surprise so was the sushi! You would expect the pizza (kids favorite) to be good at a place like this, but the sushi was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the crumbed prawn salad which was very poor in taste and flavor! The greens in the salad were fine and fresh but the prawns were over cooked, hard and did not have an ounce of salt or seasoning!!! Overall, this is a place for families; for children to play around and for the parents to enjoy a drink under the tree shades with good and friendly service from the staff.

Olive & Twist is a great summer spot for the whole family to enjoy a good meal. We popped in for a quick lunch this past weekend while driving through the area. I really love the set up- it's perfect for a summer day. Downstairs seems to be the family/kids area, and this is where we were seated. There was a kids party happening everywhere you looked, but we weren't fussed by all the noise and kids. I had the prawn and avo salad. Everything was really tasty- except the crumbed prawns. The coating is so thick, I ended up peeling it off. I would definitely prefer a tempura prawn or a plain prawn. My boyfriend had the catch of the day - grilled hake which he really enjoyed. Our waiter, Nyathi, was excellent. I would definitely like to go back on a Friday or Saturday night when there is more of an adult vibe, but Olive & Twist is a great spot! Good job guys.

I really enjoy this restaurant because the vibe is great. Been there a couple of times and have enjoyed it a lot. Steak is deliciously done to perfection as well as most of their meals.Service is also a big thumbs up!
This restaurant is set in a pretty garden-like environment. You can choose to sit under a tree or on the deck to enjoy the lovely summer weather. They also have an inside area where we moved to when the weather changed.
I definitely recommend the prawn scampi starter and the baby chicken. The baby chicken is reminiscent of the Mozambique Portuguese chicken - grilled to perfection where the meat is tender and the outside char grilled.
A lovely garden setting for a restaurant. They also have a big deck with a 'sail umbrella', but it does get a bit hot in Summer and a big inside area. Their service are not that good ... the waiters tend to disappear and not be on the look-out.
With a party of 9, we had some awesome dishes! For the table, we ordered a Starter of Cajun Potato Wedges - the wedges are HUGE, the portion is big (each person got a wedge) and it is served with a cheese sauce. Really worth it!
The chicken livers are really good, smothered in a creamy tomato chilli sauce and served with bread slices.
The Haloumi salad looked yummy and the Haloumi was cooked perfectly! Sushi looked stunning and the Joe's Burger ... a good choice if you're very very hungry!
It's definitely a nice spot and worth a visit.
