I'm a Fournos lover and it never disappoints! I always order from the bakery but this time I went for their Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce is always important for an Eggs Benedict and this one was just the right balance.
I did find however, that the tables were a bit too small for three people to have a full breakfast.
Seriously the best spot in Jozi for breakfast! Fournos Dunkeld is an institution! Great vibe, great food and great staff! I always have the salmon rosti large, with 2 poached eggs = Delicious 👌
Be it to satisfy my untamed sweet tooth, pick up tasty goodies for client meetings or sometimes a lazy brekkie, this branch never disappoints. A hive of activity especially mornings, I’ve learnt not to be rushed both for parking and in-store. If resisting the decadent delights there is a bursting with color health bar, stocked with fresh juices and fruit. Service can be slow but always friendly, the take away coffee bar is also a winner.
This is my favorite Fournos in Johannesburg, serving delicious food. Service is a bit lacking, but food is very good. I had the eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was creamy and sweet. Ambiance is warm and like a restaurant in the countryside. Recommend it for coffee or a bite to eat.
A favorite stop off of mine , excellent for a coffee, breakfast and lunch selection, ideal for a business meetings or meeting friends , good bakery selection and pre prepared lunch selection , lovely setting to rest , catch up and watch the world go by , like the outside seating , so pleasant 😊
They catered for a pop-up job I did. And honestly it was great. Still upset I didn’t take a photo of the different flavoured croissants. I had the chocolate one and was very happy.
They company fed us very well. And the meat was perfect. Loved the Parma ham wraps. There were many more things, but I took what was to my taste but tried to take a bit of everything. Will always keep in mind if I need to cater for a big party. Was not disappointed.
This is the perfect spot to meet friends for a quick cuppa and indulge in some tasty pastries. The bakery churns out fresh croissants, cakes , tarts, quiches , sweet and savory options on site. It’s centrally situated in the Dunkeld West shopping centre, with ample free parking. My favorites here include the custard filled croissants, chocolate croissants the spinach and feta spanakopita ( too delicious 😋) . The chai tea and coffee served could be improved on . Motherland coffee is in the same centre and it’s not up to that standard comparatively - but I think they can improve in this area . They serve breakfast and lunch and do get busy during those periods however it’s not necessary to book. Service is good. Remember to grab some delicious take away breads , tarts, biscuits and pastries on your way out.
Fournos Bakery is conveniently located close to home for me. They have a wide selection to choose from and the food is always fresh. Staff are friendly and the service is great.
This restaurant is always busy and bustling with a real Jozi vibe. But over and above the yummy food and great service there is the warmest wekcome with heart from the general manager right down to the staff. Highly recommended for brekky, takeaways, coffee and business meetings. Keep it up guys!
This remains a solid breakfast option conveniently located! Just as long as you can avoid the stench of cyclist who believe a shower is not a pre-requisite for attendance.

This place is pumping from morning to night. Everything is fresha and delicious. Great breads that overfow from the shelves. Fresh juices and smoothie bar.
I was a little disappointed, I must say. Walking into the place made me feel like Charlie in the chocolate factory, because EVERYTHING looks nice and there is SO much to choose from!
When I finally settled on a chocolate croissant and cappuchino, I couldn't wait to make my tastebuds tingle. The coffee was so weak it tasted like milk and the croissant was doughy inside rather than light flaky. I'll maybe give them another try and hope the next goodie fulfills my expectations! Fingers crossed...
I love this Fournos! Its big and spacious, has an awesome bakery and service has always been fantastic. Had breakfast here on Saturday morning with a friend, and despite them being super busy, service was quick and food delivered what it promised. We both had the Rosti Stack (one with extra mushrooms) which we both thoroughly enjoyed and can recommend. They have such a big menu - I'll definitely be back to try something else soon.
I stopped to do a bit of work and pass the the time to my next meeting - had coffee with anchovy toast which also comes with pickled cucumbers and tomato - the nice thing about Fournos is the bakery has a generous selection of breads to choose from and I had really delicious grainy / seedy toast.the staff were lovely although they were very busy and if you sit outside you do have to ignore the constant traffic with no barrier between you and the car park which can get a bit noisy !!
The nicest Fournos out there. Often pop in during the week to grab a bite to eat. Staff are really amazing- especially Takalani at the sandwich bar.
Salmon rosti gorgeous in full blown flavour. Care and quality. What a win. Staff help to bring the existing warmth into a new level with their charm. Love this menu. Simple and complex but always incredible quality. The presence of the bakery and displayed delicacies make for an amazing venue to eat and drink in a cosy charming exciting atmosphere.

I just had a double espresso, which was of reasonable quality (they serve Illy's espresso blend here so it's nothing too out of the ordinary or adventurous)
The place is always buzzing with people chattering or quietly working on their laptops.
I always get into a kind of frenzy when I go to Fournos. It's the sight of all those baked goods - which to sample first. So far, my favourites have been the chocolate croissants, the spanakopita and the meze, always a picnic hit. I'd never actually had a sit down meal there until a few weeks ago, when i tried the rosti with salmon and avo. I take breakfast very seriously, and this had all the right taste. Service was slick and professional. I feel that Fournos is solid and reliable - not particularly glamorous adjectives, but you always know you'll be satisfied. Especially commendable for an eatery that's part of a chain, I feel.
Friday 12.30ish. Got a table easily. Sat outside where we had a great view of the parking lot 😣 and caught a pleasant breeze on a very hot day.
I had - could it have been - a 'dirty'? prawn and egg salad. I don't see it on the menu above. The prawns looked like little pink grubs but they tasted ok. I think I'm going to stop eating them anyway. It's bad for the environment. The food was nice and fresh. The cappuccinos were delicious. The lady serving us was very sweet and offered suggestions.
The menu's quite small although it's adequate. But check out the deli inside! Now that's another story! Fantastic breads; make your own sandwich with a huge range of fillings; wonderful quiches, fab cheeses and I once bought one of the nicest hummus I've ever tasted here.

It was a pleasant family outing at this cozy bakery that came has highly recommended restaurant. All that hype was certainly not misplaced. The salmon and cream cheese dish was fresh and inviting. The chicken livers with honey and mustard sauce on rye bread was rich but tasteful. All in all, enjoyable experience with the whole family.
I love Fournos for breakfast or lunch. It's cute and delicious but I've gotta ask... Why are your choc hazelnut croissant R5 extra than a plain one when there's basically only chocolate on the top? Everything is great except the prices. I guess you cater for higher incomes. Great place for a treat.
Great customer service. The place is great for a nice, relaxed Sunday brunch with friends or family. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, spinach & feta Benedict, although there was very little egg but it was great.
However the muffins are average but enjoyable
The best Fournos, hands down! Don't go in lunch time if you 're in a hurry -The place is always swarming with people buzzing around to get their hands on these freshly baked morsels! Their Greek shortbread half moons dusted with icing sugar are my absolute favorite and I drive out of my way, past 2 other Fournos, just to get my fix there! Baklava and Kaitifi are also killer!!!

Okay so I was at Fournos on Tuesday (11 October 2016) getting some pastries.
I often sit down and eat at this Fournos. The food is always freshly prepared and very tasty. The service is consistently friendly and helpful.
This time around we got lots of different things to take home as we had people over! We tried the chocolate croissants (which are absolutely delicious- a personal favourite and highly recommended). The almond pretzels, a miniature pecan pie, an apple crumble and so much more. We also got a couple of Florentines - which are another absolute must! So amazing. And their breads are to die for! Their selection is huge and always freshly made.
We also tried their iced cream on Tuesday. So creamy and delicious. I had a scoop of their florentine iced cream and my mom had a scoop of the berry! Both very very good.
So worth trying them out, even for a quick cappuccino if you're in the Dunkeld area.
Recommendation: although we did not have any this time their chicken schnitzel is great. I love their sandwich bar where you can choose what you want and what bread you'd like it on. Great to grab a freshly made sandwich, especially if you're on the go. 🍞🍰🍫🍩🍪☕️🍽
Wanted to try this Fournos for years!!! Finally webt on Sunday with a bunch of girls after our woman's spar race!! I was soo impressed, we got a table within seconds and our waiters were friendly fast! Food was absolutely delicious and I can't belive how well priced everything was. Felt like I was getting far more than what I paid for and there's no better feeling then that!!
Drove to this Fourno's after having a horrible experience at the Blubird Fourno's.
This Fourno's is always packed, which is a great sign in it's own. The food and coffee smells throughout this restaurant is amazing. The services was absolutely stellar!
We had freshly squeezed carrot juice, blueberry french toast and their legendary bacon benedict. All of these were absolutely fantastic!
We even left with a few croissants for later!
This is such a great spot for breakfast over the weekend. The smell here is absolutely AMAZING!

Great breakfast spot. Good vibe, great food and enticing aromas coming out the bakery. Been here on multiple occasions and food is always good. Menu options are great and well priced. With great service to top it, this is a must try.
Fournos knows their market, which during the week is the office worker, who needs a quick turn around. We had a quick lunch there on the weekend, and i was very impressed with the speed and friendliness of service. I had an unusual salad with potato cakes and lentils, which i would definitely have again. The boyfriend had spaghetti bolagnaise which he was very happy with as well. One does need to find a table out of the way of the shoppers, as it can be a bit over crowded.
Such a great spot for a morning breakfast :) with the fresh magical smells from the bakery next door, I orders the salmon eggs Benedict and it was to die for. With the tastiest sauce and fresh farm eggs, I absolutely loved my meal. Great service and setting with such a positive happy vibe inside. Never one for Franchises, I haven't taken the time to visit Fournos for a meal (although have often popped in for a quick quiche, kitka, croissant or cake!) However, I must say I was pleasantly surprised!! Delicious Illy coffee served with the yummiest biscotti and a super menu from "baked baddies" to Banting.

Loved it. I've heard that this particular Fournos is amazing and I agree. Had their bacon and tomato bagel and I loved it. The service was a little slow but it was packed so I totally get it.
I love this place! I just loved the atmosphere and the fact that it's a bakery as well. The food was really good too and it wasn't too pricey either. It gets full really quickly so make sure you go early.
Absolutely packed on a public holiday, but despite this the service was efficient and food came out quickly. We were just having a quick meeting so a green juice and a carrot muffin were perfect to tide us over. Fournos always en pointe with their menu and all around us delicious looking breakfasts came out at the speed of lightening. Burgers, salads and pastas as well as snacks and cakes are the order of the day - and why not grab a fresh bread or pastries to take home with you from the bakery?
The atmosphere of fournos is always wonderful. the chocolate croissants, the smell of fresh coffee, the delicious pastries and the fresh juices. Always a good place for a coffee and cake.
Oh what a great little spot! Parking is a bit of an issue as it's a very popular little centre. But once you step into this bakery your tummy starts rumbling! There is so much to choose from that you actually can't help over indulging! The pastries are fresh and melt in your mouth! The coffee (double shot latte) is great! The food was delicious and comforting! I'll be back plenty!!!
Great Fournos, nice for breakfast. I really enjoy their scrambled eggs in rye with AVO and rocket. Sometimes stock here to grab a take away cheese or spinach pie which are both delicious. They also make vlaounes over Greek Easter which makes my Greek heart happy.
I'd love to know why the tables are so small at Fournos. While the places will take up every bit of space. I mean the food is always good but having a relaxed sit-down breakfast with more than 2 people always poses a challenge.
Also, I love french toast. I wouldn't go to Fournos for french toast.

My teenage sons are my barometer and the speed and delight with which they inhaled their eggs Benedict is testimony to the quality of the food.
It's busy in this Centre with a lot if foot traffic from locals and cyclists but it's a real win for a mid morning Sunday breakie.

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast with a friend this morning. Excellent service at this branch specifically (less so at the one a few k's away). The best thing for me about Fournos Dunkeld is the value for money - quality food at really reasonable prices. And their food is always consistent, which is a big plus. My friend and I both had the french toast with fried banana and pecan nuts. Four generous slices of italian bread with more than enough pecan nuts, syrup and two halves of a banana for only R35!! It was delicious. Their cappucinos are great too and served with really, really nice biscotti. Ordered more cappucinos, just to get some more of that biscotti. I've only ever had breakfast here but really want to try something for lunch soon. Really wish that I remembered to take photos, because the food is also beatifully presented.
The original is best. This bakery is a Johannesburg institution on weekends mornings it's jam packed with an amazing vibe, from the running clubs having a post run cool down breakfast to us foodie families running in for a brilliant brunch.
The food is always great, the eggs benedict are a staple on the menu.
Weekdays it's busy with a morning coffee rush, then buisness meals all day.
I don't think there is a bad dish on there menu.
Recommendation if there for lunch go to the sandwich bar and let them make a bite of your own personal heaven.

I think this is probably my new fav place for a delicious salad fueled day.
I've been here twice, on the first visit I had the chicken and mushroom quiche with a flat bean salad that was so scrumptious, such a pity that the salmon quiche is not available per slice because it is DELICIOUS.
On the second visit I had just salads, it's a bit pricey but worth the splurge if you want a filling, quick take away lunch.
This Fournos Bakery has been around for quite some time, and they offer a huge variety of delectable baked breads, cakes, pastries and tarts. The restaurant has a good selection of dishes on the menu, and my favourite meal here is definitely breakfast.
I often have the protein omelette or the eggs Benedict, which comes with a superb Hollandaise sauce. They also serve Illy coffee, which is my preferred Italian coffee brand.
If you come for lunch, try something from the deli section.
The service is usually quick and always friendly.
A group of Dietitians meet here once a month. We really love it because the energy is excellent and we always get treated like queens! We often get goodies to take home as well. I definitely recommend it for a coffee and cake or a light lunch.
My favourite Fournos 😍. The bakery is amazing and the roasted chicken is always cooked well. The manager provides good customer service. Love love the quinoa oats breakfast !!

Yes, just yes. Freshly baked everything. That's everything that an indulgent breakfast should have. I have honestly never found a chocolate croissant that can beat their chocolate croissants. I love sitting on one of their little tables outside and then browsing through the baked goods.

I have just enjoyed the Frittata Stack for brekky - what a clever idea! Very tasty and excellent value for money. Definitely going to try this at home as I am on a carb-restricted plan (no not Banting!). Sundried tomatoes mushrooms and back bacon. Yum!
Do yourself a favour and go build yourself a sandwich at Fournos. The ingredients and breads are always fresh and well stocked. Definitely recommended if you're on the go. In saying that, also relatively well priced for what you're getting.

I hadn't been to Fournos for breakfast in a while because I feel that there are much better options around.
Nevertheless, I decided to give it another try. I was disappointed to put it mildly. I always maintain that a good dining experience comprises the quality of the food, atmosphere of the restaurant, friendliness and efficiency of the service.
The quality of the food and atmosphere ticks the boxes at Fournos however unfortunately the efficiency of the service was terrible on this past occasion that I've been there. There's only so many times you can ask for the same thing and not begin to get annoyed. On the weekends I think this place is completely understaffed or the kitchen just can't handle the capacity. It took ages for our waiter to get back to us to take our food order once he had brought us our drinks and once we were done it took us ages to get someone to bring us the bill. Unfortunately the overall service will make me think twice before returning to Fournos because there are so many alternative restaurants that manage to get the basics right which makes for a much more enjoyable dining experience.

Fournos is a brilliant place to have a chic breakfast or brunch. The chocolate croissants are legendary and now with the addition of their juice bar and array of gelatos, this is the perfect family weekend treat. I had the Light Breakfast and it was done to perfection. Friendly staff and a charming atmosphere.
Popped in for a quick lunch. They didn't have water for tea but offered us coffee instead.

I absolutely love this Fournos! I think that the quality of their baked goods is miles better than any other Fournos and the sandwich bar is just heavenly, and well priced.
So pleasantly surprised by the amazing brunch I had here. Fornos has some great healthier options on the menu, I had their cauliflower rosti which was both super tasty and super healthy! They have a 'make your own smoothie' bar and have other reliable healthy options on the menu. Service was very nice and accommodating, professional and quick so was very pleased. I like that it's busy, the atmosphere is laid back yet buzzing. The bakery, of course, is so good I can't resist walking around just to look at their tempting treats and smell all the freshly baked goodies. Highly recommend for an easy breakfast/lunch with friends and family.
Breakfast was a win! Although exceptionally busy the service from Linda was very good. We ordered eggs Benedict and French toast. The French toast with pecan nuts, banana and bacon was a real treat. By far the best fournos we've been to!

When a restaurant knows how to make soft poached eggs you will always see me back :) The food did take a bit long but that's because it is so popular and even at 10am the restaurant was packed. But all in all a good experience
You cannot go wrong with any pastries from Fournos. We visited this outlet recently, and it was packed. It is obviously a very popular place. This time, we tried the sandwich that you can make, and it was OUTSTANDING. I always thought that Bread Basket made the best sandwiches ever, but Fournos impressed me even more and it was not half as expensive as other places, and I could choose exactly what (and how much) I want on my sandwich. Thank you for good food!
I can't say I've ever eaten much here other than their chocolate croissants, and I probably won't be changing that anytime soon simply because they're so amazing. If you time things just right and arrive at the same time as a fresh batch is being brought out you will understand what I'm talking about. Their service is quick, their coffee is hot, and their fresh pastries are unlike anything else in the area. Definitely worth a quick detour on the way to work in the mornings.

A regular lunch spot for me. The food is good no matter what you order be it a toasted sandwich which always has generous fillings or a salad (the roasted butternut and halloumi one is my favorite). Delicious cappuccinos! The service is always good and attentive and they can have you in and out during a lunch hour which is great.
Out of all the Fournos outlets - this has to be my favourite. Easy access from the parking. The bakery is always at full force, with incredible variety of treats placed at the entrance- Great disipline is needed if you are trying to diet. I just want to eat it all.
The food is always great - we love the rotisarry chicken, it has the most enjoyable flavours. The convience factor plays a major role as you can take-away a variety of salads, sides and cooked dishes during lunch time.
Service varies but I have had more good experiences than bad.
A little secret : If you go just before it closes, they will give you free croissants or any baked good to avoid waste. Its always a bonus.

This Fournos is going to be the death of me... the croissants are amaze-balls... crispy, fresh and warm... *nom, nom, nom*... The pastries - OMG I love their pastries. The beef and chicken spring rolls as well as the samoosas are my favourite on-the-go eats to grab. Somebody stop me!!! I'm literally going to have to start taking another route to work just so I can stop making a quick stop over there in the mornings.
I simply love this Fournos particularily because the service is so good, there's always someone there to help you, it's big and spacious, it gives you a warm and home-like feel, it's neat and clean and the food is so appetising unlike the one Fournos in the Johannesburg South area - that Fournos sucks.
I actually would love to have a sit down breakfast or lunch at the Dunkeld Fournos instead of always getting takeaways, it's such a chilled spot to grab some grub with a friend or two. I haven't done it yet but certainly going to have to soon. The food looks fresh and appetising - always. Oh gosh... and they have bread - lots and lots of bread...and I love bread, bread is my ultimate weakness. Can't wait to go back and try their sandwiches. I'm a huge Fournos fan because there food is great quality and portions are generous. Not only are their breakfasts and lunches great but their pastry section is what makes them stand out. You can't go to Fournos without getting a chocolate or almond croissant, but they sell out fast so go early. The toasted sandwiches are my favourite as they have a selection of breads and are served with chips or salad (a proper salad not same lame garnish). They also do a bread 'platter' which is good for a big group of people who feel like some tapas type snacks. Otherwise their double prego is such a win, and can easily be shared between two. Service always friendly..

Been to this branch a few times. Sadly i havent taken pictures here as it was full of lovely cakes and treats today but just as full and busy with people to try and take pictures.
Friend took me here for breakfast. we ordered the breakfast wrap and the fournos breakfast. Both were good and the portion size is quite large. Had the spicy chai which was tasty and not too spicy or over the top.
I was good didn't even buy a chocolate croissants to go :-(
My wife took me here for a special birthday breakfast and to finally put rest to my endless pleas for pancakes.

Fournos dunkeld never cease to impress. What k love most about them is their consistency. Every meal ordered, be it off their buffet menu or a la cart is always good. I have to say that their chocolate croissants are very possibly the best in Johannesburg. Wow!
