I absolutely love this restaurants decor. The service is excellent and we forgot to order a meal and the rushed the order. The chicken risotto is amazing. The salmon and lamb chops were amazing. The overall experience was great.
There is absolutely nothing on earth that tastes as beautiful as the prawn risotto! I have dreams about how good it was, I would go as far as to say life changing. Creamy, earthy risotto topped with fresh, perfectly done prawns.
One of my favourite spots! The Queen Kelly (calamari in limoncello sauce) is my absolute go to dish here but the risotto and pasta’s are just as delicious. Tried the Black Lightning last night and was blown away by the delicious flavors and velvety home pasta. Will definitely have it again!
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Joburg. The service is always excellent, their food is absolutely delicious and we stumbled upon the most delicious Chardonnay on our first visit here that we keep going back for more!

It was definitely the best decision of the day to escape the seriously cold August afternoon at cafe Del sol in parkhurst.
The staff are warm and inviting and made us feel at home. We never felt rushed... which is impressive since we did spend a good portion of the afternoon there.
We had the Diga diga doo and gold digger (gotta love the names)! It is highly likely that we’ll have the same next time!
The first time I went everything was invredible, the second time was a bit average and the cocktails are awful, very expensive and I’ve tried about seven in total and they all just taste like the alcohol in the with no flavour or hint of the other ingredients. I will try again though.
This must be my other Parkhurst favourite place! How delicious is the Gorgonzola and pear salad with the black mushroom papardelle?! Omg if I went back there again I’m ordering the same dishes again. My fiancé had the Asian chicken which was also delicious!
This was an amazing evening with fantastic food - full of flavour. Service that was sheer excellence and management involvement by Gugu. It was our 2nd visit after Bryanston. We enjoyed the intimate ambience of Parkhurst and will definitely be back
Awesome ambience, steady service and and delicious fare. The lazy Sunday afternoon was perfectly paired with CDST, salad starter was delicious and the mains decadent, rich and flavourful. A tad pricey but a treat every now and then. Cheers and enjoy

Wow what a wonderful experience I had here , the food was absolutely mouth watering . Authentic Italian food at its best . You can see they make their pasta from scratch as it hangs on the past racks by the kitchen to dry! I really loved it here and the restaurant is modern and beautiful. Also their Turkish delight Creme Brûlée is to die for .
I’ve always wanted to try this family member of the cafe del sol in bryanston and olivedale. The decor inside is beautiful but we opted for outside with the comfy chairs and candle ;)
The waiter was good but the food was better.
Try the oxtail risotto, it’s quite rich but I love that. The carpaccio and chicken pasta were also amazing.
Another point to note when ordering is that the portions are so big for the pasta and risotto that you will more than likely have lunch for tomorrow 👍🏻
The food and service is amazing. We had a salmon main meal as well as the chicken with a heavenly mushroom risotto. The accompanying vegetables were fresh, properly cooked and flavourful. I’m sorry to have not taken a picture, but I was enjoying my meal too much. Go. You won’t be disappointed.

Simply divine! Loved the ambience here. I was quite excited to try their menu as I am a fan of their outlets. The dishes we delicious. Well presented, generous portions with amazing flavours and cooked to perfection. Was not disappointed one bit!
Pricey but food was excellent. As a vegetarian, I particularly enjoyed the Mushroom risotto with truffle oil. Divine. Not clear if they cater for vegans.
I have been to the original Cafe de Sol and the Botanica, so decided it was time to try this one. This was a great experience all the way from the very helpful and friendly booking through to the vibe and the food and he outstanding service. This is a place that I will come back to over and over. We had the Star Dust main which is a Scottish salmon with a sesame seed crust and the Feather your Nest main which is a free range chicken with a sesame seed coating. Both dishes were outstanding in taste with the same seeds crispy and very good. Really a great experience!
So, after a hectic morning of gym and shopping...my partner and I decided to venture out of sandton. Was I delighted to experience Café Del Sol TRE. The seared salmon was an absolute delight.
A flavorful experience indeed. My partner was slightly disappointed with his Salmon as his medium salmon turned out to be slightly raw.... not to his preference... but I on the other hand would’ve devoured it... non the less, the hostess of the restaurant was pleasant and apologized profusely...apart from that, she constantly kept an eye on us and all tables, ensuring that we were well taken care of...
We will definitely be back... only to experience her pleasant aura and beautiful food...

I have been to this restaurant on two occasions.
The first time I ordered the duck and the second time my boyfriend did. Unfortunately the second time the duck was chewy and did not taste as good as the first which leads me to believe that the standards are not as high when the restaurant is too full, therefore I recommend going on a week night instead of the weekend.
I loved the art deco theme. The service was excellent. I liked that the menu is not massive but offers enough variety. They also have nice options on the wine list. We shared a happy days salads that was scrumptious and then ended up both ordering a mushroom truffle dish. I had the pasta and my friend the risotto... and oh my word. I highly recommend both. I'll be back.
Beautiful fine dining establishment! The kitchen were happy to Wow our sister with their decadent fondant and a birthday message and sparkler! They also created a delicious vegan pasta, and the rest of the dishes were incredible - from the glass noodles with the beef, to the prawn ritz (which I highly recommend - as well as their creative melazane). Beware the potent but refreshing cocktails! Thank you for a superb meal and excellent service!

Really awesome spot in the vibey Parkhurst. Lovely outdoor seating area with heaters for a cold winters day. Waiters are very professional and well dressed. Food is delicious- had the rump penne pasta. Rump melted in my mouth and pasta was perfectly cooked.
My meal here was absolutely fantastic! Their flavors were punchy, tasteful and took their food to another level. Their service was great and friendly, with a great vibe around. Their managers were interactive with us and made sure we were well looked after. My only centers is the price of their food, otherwise a great experience and would recommend this to anyone who can afford it!

The third in the cafe Del Sol trio - we had a lovely evening here. The decor is cool, service is great and food delightful. We had ravioli and the mushroom pasta. The portions are generous - no hungry patrons after dinner! They've a good wine selection with lots of wines available by the glass - felt like I was in CT 😀. I'll arrive hungrier next time so that I can really do justice to the lovely food!
I had been meaning to have dinner at Café Del Sol TRE since it opened and it was well worth the wait. This truly is a beautiful restaurant with a stunning bar and waiters in cool uniforms. The cocktail menu is big with some really interesting options. Megan Schutte and I both had the gnocchi with Gorgonzola and walnuts which was fantastic. A few more bits of walnuts would have been nice though. The desserts were so prettily presented with little flowers. Both the Turkish delight creme brulee and chocolate fondant with peanut butter ice cream were great. Service was attentive and our food arrived quickly. This restaurant also has one of the nicest restaurant bathrooms I have seen!
The most amazing decor, great ambiance and even better desserts. The Pavlova is absolutely perfect and a MUST try as well as the chamomile panacotta 👌🏼
Had the starter salad and my friend had the starter livers. These had to be thee yummiest livers ever😋 I need to go back on an empty stomach😎
Beautiful Italian restaurant. The gnocchi was outstanding, as were the fish cake starters. Decor is lovely, the service was great and it has a cosy atmosphere, especially with the buzz of the street right outside. The only fault I have with it is the open kitchen with the bright fluorescent lighting. The warm lighting of the restaurant is ruined by the harsh light from the kitchen which seems too bright and overbearing. Would take a table outside next time.

Cafe Del Sol Tre is certainly a restaurant that can get its atmosphere and food right. The decor is beautiful and the staff are friendly and attentive. The food didn't fail to disappoint either and the portions are certainly worth the price. What I did find weird is that they ran out of cutlery often and they only had two latte glasses. So if you wanted a hot beverage that wasn't coffee, you were given a normal glass. All in all, a great experience
I have been to all 3 stores - Tre is my favorite the food is great and service always phenomenal but I am so saddened about he fact pamela is not around. She was a breathe of fresh air. The new manageress is helpful but doesn't have much of a personality. Bring pamela back pls. Thank you to Linda our waitress who was so good and we asked her we're is Fab Pam.
A great addition to the popular block of 4th avenue. The inside interior is beautifully plush and the waiters have bow ties and braces which is a nice touch. We unfortunately were a walk in on a sunday lunch time so sat outside, so bookings are essential.
Onto to the food, we shared the salmon fishcake starter which was good however I did get two bones in mine which meant we were careful when eating. Mains were great. The duck served with butternut gnocchi, would have preferred a crispier skin but the flavours were amazing. That gnocchi was a star. The lamb with risotto was the other dish, it did annoy me that even though asked how lamb must be done the meat come rare (requested well done), so whilst I munched down , the other had to wait. Though once again the flavours were amazing. Dessert we shared the berry meringue and this was a yummy marshmellow meringue with loads of cream and fresh berries, decadence!

We had the mussels and melanzane to start, followed by the lamb gnocchi, fillet steak, calamari and a steak pasta. Every meal was wonderful!
The service is friendly and welcoming, they get very busy so make sure to book!

Food was great. The restaurant is beautiful and has a sophisticated yet chilled atmosphere. Our waiter however did not live up to the standard. He was unfriendly and at times rude. Based on service I would not return.
Amazing decor and a relaxing Parkhurst vibe with incredibly delicious food with robust and punchy flavours. Combined with friendly staff and you are set for a fab evening. I had "The Girlfriend Risotto" which is Ox-tail based and very beefy and satisfying - my partner had the chicken breast with pea risotto which was also fab. Be sure to book before you go as the restaurant does get fully booked.
On a busy Sunday over lunch the staff and kitchen delivered good service and decent food. Family atmosphere creates a welcome feeling. The oxtail risotto was amazing! Food is presented beautifully. The chocolate fondant was, however, a big disappointment. It was definitely baked for too long as it didn't have a soft centre - it was dry. The accompanying peanutbutter icecream was divine though. The coffee is not good.
Had the most delicious meal here again for a birthday treat from my work team! The Star Dust main is a 180g piece of seared Scottish salmon with a roasted pistachio nut crust served with chickpea mash, green olive salsa and a medley or roasted veggies including grilled baby carrots, peppers, butternut and mixed blush cherry tomatoes. The salmon was moist but not raw and the flavour combinations with the salsa and mash just balanced so nicely. Beautifully plated too and well paired with a glass of Kleine Zalze blush MCC:-) All the Cafe del Sol's have always been pricey but you get what you pay for and in terms of quality of food and ingredients and level of service, you can't go wrong here.
Day dreaming about that angel hair pasta on the "Shaking the Blues away" main meal. Went to Cafe Del Sol Tre when it first opened up and I have never forgotten how good that pasta was. Can't wait to go back. Hopefully lives up to the high standard first set 😄

We started with the Gorgonzola & walnut salad, it was delicious.
I shared the Feather in the Nest chicken, its sesame coated sticky chicken with angel hair pasta and the Gorgonzola gnocchi . That was an amazing food experience. Both dishes were outstanding.
The service was superb, Pam the manageress advised us on what to eat and kept coming to check if all was ok.
I was very impressed with her.
Tawana our waiter was also top class and his service was fantastic.
I would definitely recommend it, the decor is gorgeous and there is a great vibe in Parkhurst.

Went there for Saturday brunch with a bunch of friends. Cool vibe and great food. Pamela the manager came over to our table to make sure all was ok and told us the specials. Food was excellent - I had the truffle risotto. It has beautiful decor and a varied menu.
We had a delicious meal there on Saturday. Good jazz music, attentive staff and good ambiance. Pamela was super efficient, as always, booking us a table despite being off duty on the day.
Decor is really beautifully done and service was outstanding. Wine list - a really good selection. I had two starters - the one with heirloom tomatoes was really good - although I would have loved a little more of the crisp ham, the seasonal greens with danish feta for R88 was so unspecial - my table didn't agree but I think if you're going to charge that for a salad - it needs to be more than a regular salad.
We went to Café Del Sol TRE on Sunday (5 March 2017). We frequently visit their branch in Bryanston and their Parkhurst branch certainly lives up to expectations.
The service. As always- fantastic! The waiters are super friendly, extremely attentive and totally professional.
The food. To start me and my step-dad shared the melanzane - absolutely delicious! So so tasty.
For mains I had a mushroom risotto. It was outstanding. My family had the salmon, the steak and a salad. All of their food was delicious and extremely fresh as well. Something that stands out for me is the attention to detail. My oh my. The presentation of every dish is wonderful.
I highly recommend going for a nice lunch or dinner and having a bottle of wine if you are in the Parkhurst area. 🍷

We had an awesome afternoon/ evening! The food was delicious, i had the "Black Lightning" which is a vegetarian mushroom based pasta and my hubby had the steak. The dessert was also yummy, we shared a chocolate brownie with ice cream. The service was excellent and we even met one of the manageress/ hostesses, Pamela who was exceptionally sweet. We share a love for the colour yellow:). The Gatsby inspired decor is beautiful and our overall experience was great! We will definitely be returning soonest.

Had a great time at Cafe del Sol Tre on Friday afternoon / early evening. Staff were attentive, atmosphere was bustling but not loud and rowdy and it was a perfect evening to sit outside.
We loved the springbok carpaccio with its heavenly truffle scent and preserved figs, and enjoyed the mussels too. I had read great reviews about the stuffed calamari (Shakin' the Blues Away), but I was disappointed with it. The calamari was delicious but didn't think the angel hair & seasonal veg was the best accompaniment. For dessert we had the Turkish delight creme brûlée which was divine.
Next time, I'll definitely try the risottos.

Excellent spot for a vibey dinner in Parkhurst with fabulous food. We had a girls dinner there. Wine and drinks selection is superb. We admired the retro come art deco decor, with crockery and glassware to match. Must try dish = Black Lightening. Trust me. My friends said the seafood risotto was yummy. Our waiter was fun. If I had to be critical, the service started off slightly shakey.
Stunning venue, exquisite cuisine, took my lady there for a romantic dinner, Pam the manageress was very helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with when asked to solve a minor hiccup, made us feel right at home and treated us like VIPs
A really good food experience, with a varied menu.
My favourite dish is the Black Lightning - homemade pappardelle (a flat ribbon like pasta noodle), flambéed in whiskey & porcini mushroom cream, served with a textured forest floor, earthy mushroom powder and truffle scent.
Service started well, but dropped off toward the end with servers just hanging out together and not observing the room.
And no fault of Café Del Sol TRE, the neighbouring establishments can get loud.
Menu is interesting enough to bring us back.
Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday on the evening of the 15th with friends and family. The decor and ambience just takes you to another world. Our waitress Plexena was just more than perfect.
I brought my own birthday cake, the kitchen helped me set it up with sparklers and the owner enjoyed a piece of celebratory cake with us.
My boyfriend's comment about the food was,: "looks like something from Masterchef" and my best friend who is a Chef raved about the prawn risotto.

Ambience - delicious food - great service. Key phrases for a fantastic dining experience - and Café Del Sol Tre shows commitment to all three. Pamela & Chester's service was excellent: we felt welcome, our drinks arrived in five minutes, Chester's food recommendations were spot on, the dessert chef's suggestions were excellent. The Avo Ritz and Panna Cotta were particularly heavenly. Highly recommended.

Last night my boyfriend and I went to Cafe Del Sol Tre for a pre-valentines day dinner and what a good choice it was! As you walk in, the restaurant just exudes "The Great Gatsby." From the waiters uniforms to the low hanging, dim lights, everything just screamed the 1920's. For starters we shared the muscles which were delicious. Some were a tad chewy but the sauce and portion size were phenomenal. For mains I had the Diga Diga Doo - a seafood pasta with squid ink tagliatelle. My boyfriend had the "The Girlfriend," an Oxtail risotto. The portions were incredibly generous and neither of us could finish our meals. I definitely had the winner, the pasta was perfectly al Dente and the amount of seafood in the pasta was more than substantial, which was great because restaurants tend to be a bit on the stingy side when it comes to seafood dishes. The oxtail risotto was definitely a close second, and with such a massive portion, we were able to take it as a takeaway and have it for lunch the next day, and it was even better. The dessert was incredible, a Turkish delight creme brûlée, with a rose water ice cream in the side. My boyfriend described the experience as "happy to die now" it was that good!
What a great meal. Had been there last year and was not blown away but this time was a different experience. From booking a table with Pamela to the meal, was all a fantastic experience. Liked the "wine by the glass" option where they give you a bit more than a glass at reasonable pricing which gives you the chance to experience different wines. Food was spectacular. Will be back soon.

Her vibrant personality and big smile was a breath of fresh air. Not often a manager takes time to talk to customers which such service with a happy smile. A great experience overall. We celebrated my parents wedding anniversary at Cafe Del Sol Tre the other night. From the decor, menu, staff and food everything was brilliant. The lovely manger Pam looked after us and made my parents feel extra special with one of your lovely deserts. The food and decor was the talk of the night. We will be back for sure.

What a spoil. Just loved the entire experience at Cafe del sol Tre. Wow. The service was great, felt so welcome and looked after - just the right balance. The atmosphere, ambiance and the food was amazing. We didn't order any starters and ordered mains. I had the stuffed calamari, we had some Pork belly and the chicken stir-fry, that was one of the specials of the day. All very, very good and tasty. My highlight was the nougat cheesecake, that was recommended to me by a friend and it was to die for. So good, yummy. I will definitely be back. Special place!

After a last minute cancellation with friends last Thursday night, we decided to go have a date night anyway and we were quite delighted with our experience at Cafe Del Sol TRE.
Parkhurst was buzzing and all the little street cafes and restaurants were alive with revellers. Going to a new restaurant (for me) is always quite exciting and similarly nerve wracking as you never know what to expect.
Having read a few write ups, we were keen to try a few recommendations. I started with the chicken livers and it was excellent, rich and creamy but lacked a little bit of spice.
We had the seafood pasta (see picture) which was very tasty and beautifully presented and the pulled lamb gnocchi which was comforting and rich, but delightful. Again it lacked a bit of seasoning but a bit of fresh chilli sorted that out.
The ambience was very relaxed and the restaurant decorated in elegance. The staff were also dressed in cool uniforms and gave relaxed service as well.
All in all it was a nice overall experience and I look forward to trying out the other venues special menus.

I have yet to explore the other two branches of this brand restaurant, I'm a little reluctant though considering some of the feedback I've heard, mostly about location and service. I am throughly enamored by this restaurant and the decor, as well as the fabulous way the staff are dressed.
Service is wonderful too, and mostly and likely more importantly, the food has yet to disappoint. Consistency is very important with restaurants, and for me, having flavoursome and unique vegetarian options that extend beyond the halloumi salad.
The beetroot carpaccio starter is fresh and inventive, with dehydrated strawberries, rocket and tiny balls of herbed goats cheese. It's also perhaps a big enough portion to be had as a main, depending on how hungry you are.
The risottos are equally delicious and beautifully flavoured. To make the entire eating experience even better, their cocktails are delectable as well.
Oh, and it should also be noted, the bathrooms are great, nice and clean and there are hooks for your handbags. It's surprising how many restaurants fail on this.
All in all, I'd say TRE is my go to place!
Absolutely love this place! The decor is great and the staff are beyond friendly and accommodating! The food is also fantastic in keeping with other Cafe del Sol outlets I've visited! Can always recommend the gnocchi!

The food was good and arrived on time.
My lamb cutlets could have been a little better, they were just not WOW...

A fabulous eating experience in trendy 4th Avenue Parkhurst at Cafe Del Sol Tre. My husband ordered a whopping 450g fillet on the bone with brandy and pepper sauce topped with caramelized onions, my daughter a melt-in-the-mouth homemade gnocchi with a creamy tomato sauce and I had a fresh seared Scottish salmon with a black sesame crust served on a bed of avocado mash. Simply delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by us all! We completed the meal with coffees and a to-die-for baked carrot cake. Good portion sizes, service was excellent and bathrooms were spotless. Not a cheap restaurant but well worth it with quality ingredients used. Only thing better was the company!
Really loved the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. Waiter was inviting and the service was definitely above average. The menu was surely dissappointing as it's quite a limited selection. Food was excellent and worth every penny.....

My fiance and I went here for a valentines day meal. We shared the aubergine melanzane for a starter which was delicious. I had the oxtail risotto as my main - it was incredibly delicious, juat thinking about it is making me hungry. We topped it off with the Turkish delight creme brulee which was a delicious mix of flavours. All this was complimented with great cocktails, excellent service and a unique environment.

The atmosphere, food and staff were wonderful. Had the main of sesame seed coated chicken, on angel hair pasta with a peanut based sauce. Would definitely have it again. My boyfriend had the lamb gnocchi which was rich and well flavoured. It is pricey, expect to fork out a decent amount of cash for one cocktail and a main but know you are getting a very well prepared, beautifully presented meal, a well made drink and top notch service.
We had a wonderful first night out at Cafe Del Sol Tre. The Art Deco inspired menu, cocktails and interior design transports you to a bygone era of the Great Gatsby! Friendly staff and management. This place is well worth a second visit.

Amazing menu, hard to choose what you would like to have. The best cocktails ive had. Pricey but worth every penny. Very disappointed when hubby called and said its a special occasion and they didnt bother to make any effort!!! I would like to drop the review to 4 stars but the food keeps it at 5.

Great addition to the Cafe Del Sol legacy. Loved the beautiful restaurant decor and set up. Food was sublime. My parents and I left very satisfied. Excellent service. Will definitely be back again when I visit South Africa.
You can't see it from the road, but the decor is incredible. Like being in the great Gatsby novel! Amazing food, and beautiful menu. Cocktails are also incredible. Really worth the high prices.
