Excellent 6 or 8 course menus with wonderful south african wine paring. The food is a piece of art. There is plenty of staff making you feel comfortable. The best if obviously the view over Johannesburg. Come before sunset to fully enjoy the scenery.

Went here for a 10 year anniversary fine dining experience. Ordered the vegetarian 5 course tasting menu which was bursting with flavor in each course. Many theatrics made the special night, an unforgettable one. The palate cleansers were also absolutely delicious. Great service and altogether a perfect fine dining experience. Special instructions were followed with great care as the kitchen and staff offered a complementary dessert on top of the menu requested. Worth every cent.

Fantastic food, the tasting menu was presented in a fresh and interesting way. Staff went out of their way to ensure that every guest had an exceptional dining experience. Their view is definitely the best in Joburg with the tables overlooking a lush canopy of trees. I would definitely recommend going.

Very good restaurant. Has a very nice view on Joburg, the wine list is complete. The waiters and the staff were very attentive and nice. I would give 5 stars for the restaurant itself, but the two girls at the main entrance downstairs (the lounge restaurant or something) were just rude and condescending.

Truly spectacular food - not only was it delicious, but it was lovely to look at, too. I had the most perfectly cooked piece of Springbok. While it is a very expensive choice, the frills of canapés and little cakes after the meal made it feel worth the prices.

Breakfast at View, Johannesburg's loftiest urban chic restaurant, is reached via a glass elevator. Here decor is calm, quiet and understated with touch-friendly textures, however every dish from the continental buffet, bellows in tones of smoked salmon roses, cold meats, caviar and baked goods.
My favourite was the Eggs Benedict on a smoked salmon trout base that pulled me into a slow dance of soft yellow yolk melting into the hollandaise sauce, lulling me into a steady eating rhythm. My kind of comfort food and so worth a splurge. It's gourmet food with a view!

So we did the 5 course tasting menu, well balanced taste expeicnce. The taste and texture was mind blowing, execellent. The wine pairing was spot on, in fact best pairing and meal combinations we have ever had.
Was not a planned evening, but we were pleasantly surprised.
