This is the best Indian food I have ever had!! Value for money, CLEAN! Which is surprisingly hard to find these days and the food tasted like curry should taste! Each dish is made the way you want it and the service is great! I cannot recommend this place more highly! Please do yourself a favor and go to Aroma!!

Have just come back from supper at Aroma Restaurant - and wow, what a hidden gem! Bought the Groupon voucher - 1 starter and 1 mains per person. Complimentary Papadums to start with, which were delish, with some yummy dips including homemade chutney.
For starters we had the Brinjal Bhajia, Dum Aloo, Reshmi Kebab and Tandoori Garlic Chicken. All divine! First time I've had Indian cheese - which is made fresh on the premises daily. The chicken was super tender. Beautiful garnish, rose carved in beetroot. Indicates attention to detail.
For mains we had Butter Chicken, Spicy Mango Chicken and Chicken Shai Korma. They each had a unique flavour, all amazing in taste, the Korma being my fav. You can taste they were all made fresh, which is what the restaurant prides itself in. Everything is made fresh daily, so were told it would take some time. But the food still came out quickly if you ask me.
The naan was the best I've ever had, even better than Ghazal. The Jeera rice is also really good, very flavoursome.
The owners, mother and daughter team, came to chat to us. Both very friendly and clearly very passionate about their food. The kitchen is very clean and they have chefs who clearly know what they're doing.
It's a pity the restaurant wasn't full - it should be! Definitely some of the best Indian food I have had. And you can taste it's made with love. We will definitely be returning soon! Don't let the shopping centre/location deter you from going. Also, there is a reliable car guard on duty.
A definite must if you're on a quest to find the best Indian cuisine in Jozi. And you'd be supporting some wonderful people who love what they do and believe in quality.

I went to the Aroma restaurant today for lunch and I experienced the most incredibly fresh and ‘oh so tasty ‘ food. Delicious beyond!!
The ambience was so relaxing.
The service was so efficient, friendly and above all extremely professional.
The owners were on hand to ensure that their clientele were happy and that all their expectations were being met.
I highly recommend this restaurant for those of you who are wanting good fresh tasty food and excellent service.

My boyfriend and I happened upon Aroma last year through a referral - The first time we went we were blown away and have made it one of our regular date-night and special occasion spots. The team are always friendly and inviting like part of the family and the food is absolutely exceptional! We have celebrated valentines, mothers day and more recently our joint birthday party where a large group of friends were treated to an awesome meal and some beautiful cupcakes that Shalene rushed home to bake because she heard it was our birthday! We highly recommend and commend the team on always being the best - an absolute gem of Joburg!
Absolutely outstanding food and services from the best waiter Thebe. I would go back and back everyday. We travelled to the restaurant all the way from Pretoria and we are definitely going back soon.
This has to be one of the finest places to sample Indian cuisine in Johannesburg and it just so happens to be down the road from where I live! Attentive waiters, crisp, uncluttered decor, a personable host and above all, incredible food. I went there with three friends who are all big foodies and very critical when it comes to dining and they were all smitten. Aroma is Windsor's best kept secret but I suspect it won't be for long.
WOW! Aroma is amazing! I was impressed as soon as I arrived! The sevice is spectacular, the dining is lovely and the food is absolutely divine! Don't be prepared for a quick dinner/take away. The food is all freshly prepared and is well worth the wait! You can taste every flavour! This restaurant is definitely my new favourite. Thank you for a wonderful evening! Will be back soon �

My wife and I enjoyed a terrific meal at this beautiful restaurant. We loved the simplicity of the decor as well as the lovely ambience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It's a great family-owned restaurant that is way better than most other restaurants in Joburg. Our city needs more places like this.
We had another amazing meal at Aroma Restaurant last night. We ordered samoosas as a starter, lamb biryani, prawn curry and a fish dish (the name escapes me). All the meals were absolutely delicious but the lamb biryani deserves extra special mention. This dish is served with a roti topping so it looks similar to a pie. The portions are large and there is lots of lamb included in the dish - flavours were out of this world. Thank you to Shalene and team for another wonderful evening.
Used Uber Eats to get the most amazing meal delivered to us!!! Wow fresh and so amazingly tasty. Will definately need to come visit the restaurant.
Had dinner at Aroma with my family and I can honestly say that it is some of the best Indian food I have had not only in Johannesburg but in South Africa. The waiters were amazing and the owners were so friendly but most importantly the food was delicious!
Took us almost 2 years to visit ... now we will definitely be regulars! Food and staff are amazing. We were impressed from the minute we walked in. Who knew this gem was literally 5 minutes from our front door!

My most favourite Indian Restaurant in Johannesburg! The lamb biryani is absolutely amazing and you also get a decent portion. Also ordered naan as same makes any Indian meal complete. Can definately recommend!

What a Joburg jem! We found them on-line and dropped by to pick up some take-aways. The food was an absolute delight with generous portions, perfect balance of heat and spice and wonderful fragrant rice. We will definitely become regulars. I’m so full right now but I could do the meal all over again.

The location isn't the best in a small dark shopping center but the food is excellent with an emphasis on fresh. Nothing is pre made and meals are made to order. Service is excellent and helpful.

We decided to try Aroma today because it's so cold and wet we thought "perfect curry weather " and we were not disappointed. Aroma is what hits you as you near the door and follows through in the delicious flavors of everything we had. They pride themselves on fresh food prepared from scratch and you can taste it. One of the best Indian meals we've ever had.
This place is an absolute gem. I could not believe that it is so close to home and has never been on our radar before. The fools is excellent and the people are friendly and most of all they aim to please. Lovely simple chilled atmosphere, food is cooked fresh and is definitely worth the wait. We had the brinjal and paneer bhajia, the mixed tandoor platter, lamb rogan Josh and the methi chicken. Wonderful taste experience! Please do not hesitate to take your friends there!
Food was superb! An authentic Indian feel. The kitchen is open plan so customers are able to see exactly how the food is prepared. Hygiene is excellent! Service is great. The Fish Tika was particularly outstanding; fresh and flavorsome. The restaurant is a mere 19 months old and already thriving. Decor was thought out with sentimental intent and to set a very tranquil atmosphere for all who visit. Would most definitely recommend this place to everybody!
Brilliant Indian gem in the 'burbs - food is super tasty and is freshly prepared so be prepared to wait a while -this is not a fast food joint. Only drawback is the centre its located in -busy undergoing renos for PnP so looks all deserted and dodgy however hopefully in the near future will be a happening and vibey centre.
Waiters are being well trained and if they dont know they make a point to find out and report back to you , which I v much appreciated.
Am just waiting for owners to implement their delivery service so I can order in - bit of a schlep to drive out to collect orders

12 March Dinner : What a delightful way to end our weekend. Based on the reviews on Zomato, we headed over to this place to try some of their authentic Indian flavors. I must say it's one of the best Indian dining restaurants in Jo'burg so far and is now added to my favorite list.
To start with, the tranquilizing interiors were well lit for a perfect evening. The seating arrangements are spread across the outer area as well. Totally loved the melodious Indian instrumental played, that just adds to the perfection.
We ordered Garlic Chicken, Lamb Sheekh Kebab for entrees and in the main course we ordered Methi Chicken,Garlic Naan and Tandoori Roti along with Steelworks for the drinks. Kulfi ice cream - Pistachio for desserts.
Lamb Sheekh Kebab was succulent and flavorful. The Garlic Chicken was delectable.
The Methi Chicken here was our favorite curry and by far the best we ever had in Jo'burg. It was heavenly with the perfectly chopped Methi. The breads were great and well served. The food was cooked to perfection from scratch with the authentic Indian flavors. For the desserts, we ordered the Kulfi ice cream - Pistachio. The Kulfi was home made and had an Indian twist. The food was just on time with generous portions of Chicken and Lamb pieces. Brownie points for the well garnished food and refreshing Steelworks drink.
The service was commendable. We were overwhelmed with the staff, the Manager and her daughter who put their heart and soul in serving these authentic Indian flavors in Jo'burg. Overall, this place is a must try and such honest-straight from the heart ventures should be encouraged.
Note : The opening hours for restaurant on Sunday is 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and their extensive menu has not been updated on zomato yet.

We stopped into Aroma for an early dinner today; and we are still full at almost 9pm. It was our second visit in two weeks. Fabulous service on both occasions - without our waiter being pushy or absent.
Soothing decor in a 'getting there' shopping center. No blasting music - which is a plus for an ADD person like me. Just lovely purple and pear walls with spotless table linen and fresh-cut flowers in small, neat vases.
My partner bravely chose the Lamb Vindaloo - hot - and he cleaned his plate. I had the chicken & prawn curry. So delicious. We shared a bowl of steamed basmati rice & a garlic naan between us. The owners sent over another naan - on the house - to mop up every last drop of sauce.
Aroma's wine list offers lots of choice by the glass or the bottle at reasonable pricing.
Even though I was approaching full, I could not resist a hot rice pudding. So creamy and just what I'd imagined.
Oh and reasonable pricing - especially since everything is made from scratch.

We just ordered takeout from Aroma through UberEATS (awesome app btw) and were blown away by the quality of everything! We had Lamb Vindaloo, Dahl Makhini, Chicken Breyani and a Garlic Naan - all incredible. So impressed.
Only fresh ingredients served. Lovely owners and food excellent quality, tasty and probably the best Indian I've had. Don't be put off by the center, it's a worthwhile visit.

Wonderful delicious fresh North Indian food with an authentic taste and chef. I lived in the UK for 15 years where Indian food became the national dish and I have been looking for the same experience since returning to South Africa 4 years ago. I have found it, just around the corner from our house which is exceptional and unbelievable. Aroma Restaurant in Randburg, please look it up, definitely worth it. Try the signature dishes – aroma chicken and the Rogan Josh is also really good.

Most Indian restaurant in Johannesburg offers the same dishes. It was so refreshing to see and experience some different additions along with the usual favourites.
The combination of flavours was superb, and a lot of love went into the presentation of every dish we had. I also loved the ambience. I’s both romantic and stylish, and there is a nice outside section for warmer summer days / evenings. Prices are very reasonable, especially when it came to the wines and there is a small, but good selection to pick from. You can tell the owner really cares about her customer’s dining experience and she’s also excellent with recommendations. Well worth a visit.

Aroma restaurant is a lovely Indian restaurant. Cuisine is delicious and presentation is charming. Shalene & Shanti is passionate about making your experience unforgettable.
This little gem is just round the corner, serves good food and the food and wine are reasonably priced. The owner and chef are friendly and really interested in your experience. I've never been to an Indian restaurant before that offers to change the heat of your food/curry after it has been served. The hot was perfect for me so if you really like that Durban burn you'll need to ask for extra hot. You can also opt for something in between mild and medium or medium and hot. Great experience so you should buy the Groupon and give it a try.

It was my first meal here today and I was very impressed. We were a group of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meals. The manager is attentive and friendly but without being overbearing. The waiters are top notch. Will definitely be back!
We popped into Aroma on a Groupon - and I;m so pleased because I wouldn't have discovered it otherwise. The decor was fresh and clean - not your typical curry house. The service was a little slow but at least we knew our food was freshly prepared. My mother and I both enjoyed our chicken dishes and husband had the Tandoori prawns - all were very happy. Jeera rice was exceptionally tasty. Unfortunately the waiter misheard me and didn't confirm the starter order so I missed out on my Paneer but we will be back. Owner came and greeted at the end of the meal which is always a plus. We liked Aroma very much.

We had dinner at Aroma last night and it was delicious. We shared the Brinjal starter - it's stuffed with paneer and was scrumptious! For mains we had the Aroma chicken and Spicy Mango chicken and both rocked. We'll be back:)
Had another amazing meal there. Now if only I could move on from the tandoori lamb chops and chelo rice which is very addictive to something else. Tasted the miloni fish which was also extremely tasty. The owners are very hands on and friendly. This restaurant is tucked away in an obscure neighbourhood shopping centre so you have to really look for it but it is well worth the visit .
Went to Aroma with friends yesterday. Has a nice vibe, and wasn't busy. Menu was good and food was awesome. Our meals came through in a decent enough time. I had the aroma lamb curry, which was really good. Portions were more than enough for one. For drinks we had the bombay crush and don pedro - which were equally as nice. We even got our dessert on the house !
What an awesome Indian restaurant!! My wife and I went there for their Diwali dinner and boy oh boy was it fantastic!! We both had the seafood thali... I would eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The flavors was amazing! If you're looking for propper Indian Cuisine then this is the place to go to.

Ate out at every Indian restaurant in Johannesburg. Had to try out Aroma after reading all the reviews. It didn't disappoint at all. Food was delicious 😋. Love the cleanliness. Excellent customer service. Will definitely be visiting again to try out the rest of the vegetarian dishes.
I cannot recommend Aroma enough. They’re service is top tier 👏🏾 We had ordered a meal during loadshedding on uberEats (first time ordering from Aroma), but the delivery was a total disaster. The manager of Aroma went out of her way to get the order to us, personally Ubering the meal herself! We couldn’t believe how much effort they put in to get our food delivered, albeit over 2 hours after ordering. The taste of the food was also incredible. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you so much again for the outstanding service. This is now a regular spot for us. Do pay them a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Some of the best curries I've ever had. Great staff. And I mean GREAT! And the owner, Shileen, is so passionate. Although a bit hidden away and surprisingly empty (considering how amazing the food is), you must try this. The mango lassi was just like the one I had in Jaipur! Yum!
