I love this place for the great service, amazing food and even amazinger lemonade. I had the falafel on pita and it was to die for. The fillings are so delicious. It’s a place I will keep on visiting to try different combinations. The person who brought me here swears by the lamb on pita.
The ribs were absolutely amazing! They were without a doubt the best ribs I’ve had in a long time and I would return indefinitely just to have some. The service was good but could have been better. Over all, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

Best beef ribs in the city. Falls off the bone, sticky bbq marinade, generous portions and more-ish. The chips are also so yum and you can tell it’s made with fresh cut potatoes. Amazing! I keep coming back for them.
Definitely of the best Schwarma's in Joburg! I found it cute that they had a little shop by the entrance and it blended in perfectly with the restaurant environment. The portions are well worth it for the price. I'd recommend the beef schwarma over the chicken though, I feel as if the chicken gets lost when mixed with the other ingredients.

The Schwarma Co. serves one of Joburg's best scwharmas and falafels. They have a great range of fresh salads and as well as freshly prepared humus. The chicken is a bit dry at times but the beef kebabs and lamb are normally cooked to perfection. This place has very Middle Eastern food and is highly recommended be it for take aways or if you visit the place.

The Schwarma co has the best schwarmas, laffas etc in Johannesburg. This place is always busy. Their food is so delicious and they use quality ingredients. I would definitely suggest the Schwarma co if you're craving schwarmas, laffas etc.
After hearing so many people rave about the Schwarma Co., I finally got to try it out. The food was absolutely delicious, I ordered the lamb schwarma and my friend had the chicken laffa. Both were huge portions packed with our favourite ingredients. I love the concept of a sit down Schwarma restaurant as you can choose exactly what you want in your pita while still being able to enjoy your meal in a restaurant setting. The service was however a bit slow, which is strange considering the model of this restaurant. Overall we had a great experience and I would recommend this place to anyone with a big appetite.

This place is like our second home. Every week we undoubtedly grab either a lamb schwarma with all the toppings or the perfectly basted beef ribs, their fries are great too! It’s comfort food at its best.
Unbelievable. It's not surprising this place has been so busy for such a long time now. The food is incredible and fast. The service is friendly and on the ball. The ambiance, especially sitting upstairs is really awesome. The owners are friendly, caring and very hands on. I will return over and over and over again.

If anyone can get high on eating falafel, it's me! I'm from the Middle East born and raised and this sort of food as my best friend loves to say is in my blood. So I know a good falafel when I taste one. These falafels are divine! I could go on eating them. My friend ordered the haloumi laffa and I chose the beef laffa for myself. I was in shwarma heaven I can promise you that. Our server Susan was so great, she actually managed to make place inside for us when the unexpected downpour threatened to make us cold and wet. The guy at the salad counter upstairs is a genius with his suggestions of toppings and combos. I am very curious to try out other things on their menu and soon. It's busy, it's noisy, it's warm and friendly and it has good food. What's not to love?
This is definitely one of our local favourites. Have lost count at the amount of times we've been, and counting. The hummus is the best in Jozi, and their ribs are absolutely fantastic. Always a good vibe and great service. Well done!

Lovely fresh restuarant. Gets busy during the week. Had 2 falafels which were yum. Ordered a Schwarma, originally wanted a normal beef but they didn’t have beef or lamb so eventually ended up with fillet. Which surprisingly is delish as a left over the next day. Hubby ordered the chicken salad which was MASSIVE he couldn’t finish it. Overall a good experience I would go back.
A taste of the Middle East in the north of Johannesburg, the flavors are wholesome and delicious. Fresh salads to accompany their famous schwarmas and laffas. The hummus is creamy with a tangy twist. Service is fair and the prices are above reasonable. However , overall it’s a great spot to dine.

I have read that Schwarma Co is one of best places to get schwarma in Johannesburg and I was in the area and decided to pop in .Like a Anat style they have a lump of fillings to choose from for schwarma and laffas .I had a chicken kebab and enjoy it ,really nice flavor of chicken kebab in the pita .

I was at the Schwarma Co a couple of days ago! Definitely not my first time, one of my favourite places for a schwarma or laffa in JHB. I have been a huge fan for many years.
My uncle and friend both had the chicken schwarma and I had the falafel laffa. All of the food was exceptionally good.
The service was okay. I found it a bit hard to get attention from waiters and I think it could've been a bit better as the restaurant wasn't that busy. However, this isn't really a problem when the overall experience is as amazing as it is.
I didn't happen to take any pictures as everyone was ravenous, however on my next visit I'll be sure to snap some pics!

I'm almost certain that they have the best falafels in Jhb - I had the falafel pita 2 days in a row - I like the fact that you are able to choose 5 salads for your filling - everything is really fresh. I really want to try the rest of the menu but I cannot resist those falafels - Good food, friendly staff, central location and an overall good experience.
I've been eating at The Schwarma Co. for as long as I can remember. The food is of great quality and the relatively recent renovation has served the restaurant well! It's always bustling with people who are either waiting for a seat or grabbing a take away, but the customer almost always leaves satisfied.
Delicious array of all things Middle Eastern with a lively vibe and welcoming, helpful staff. I had the falafel Laffa and my partner had the lamb Laffa. The portions are unbelievably generous and slathered in humus and Tahini. Will be back.

This was the first time visit for #KevFabFood and after rave reviews I was excited to try the legendary restaurant. It did not disappoint - service was friendly and very attentive - food was fresh and tasty with very large portions. Restaurant is busy and with a fab vibe. I would love to return and try more of their delicious food...a true gem to spend time with friends over good food.

Schwarma co offers the best variety of salads and sauces for pitas and laffas. All the good stuff, and it really is good,great falafel and everything fresh.
It can be surprising to first timers to be summoned to the salad bar to choose their salads for the pitas or laffas but just go with it. I think you can choose 5, make 1 babaganouch.
I lOve the fact that the owner/s are there all the time working the line and making sure standards are kept up. For me this is the first indication that its a good establishment.
Surprisingly, they do a good grill too, melt in your mouth ribs (lamb n beef,no pork), lamb burger is a classic. coffee is legit good amd they do a turkish if you're brave. Round it out with a lump of halva.
The place is also pretty reasonable value, not cheap but not overpriced. Service is good enough and friendly, no hitches ever.

I finally made it back to Schwarma Co.! It's been a while but I managed to nab a date night at this quaint and homely little spot in Norwood. They're quite pricey but you do get a large portion (my boyfriend and I both ended up taking half home).
• Lamb Schwarma: I opted for a Schwarma instead of my usual Laffa because I wasn't feeling super hungry. I also decided to give lamb a try, and I must say I wasn't too impressed with the meat. It wasn't tender enough and it was a bit dry. I did try my boyfriends chicken and it was excellent though, I would definitely recommend the chicken option.
I love that you get to choose 5 different salads, because they all look so fresh and delicious! The avo and corn are definitely a must, and the carrots were really delicious too.
A great option for schwarmas if you're looking for something a bit more wholesome than Anat and Mi Vami, will definitely be back in future.
This place can be busy and the service slow. I've had really dry tasteless chicken shawarma but somehow we always return. It's very relaxed and casual and it's open on a Sunday night.
Had felafels and salad in laffa. The laffa was too thick and stodgy but the felafels and my choice of salads were delicious. Next time I'll order it without. Saw a friend there who says they have the best ribs in town. And I think the best hummus. You can buy it in a tub to take home.
There's no wine list but there are some bottles to be had. It's not a great selection. We had the Delheim merlot 2013. It cost a R200. I couldn't drink it.
I grew up with this place. My favourite is the Chicken Schnitzel schwarma. I have yet to find a better place. Although now it's always full :D

I feel like the last foodie in jhb to try this place out. I heard many praises, with a couple of people telling me that this is their favourite restaurant in jhb. It certainly is very good. I had a lamb schwarma, with tzatziki and hummus. The lamb is nicely done...lovely flavour.
What's better on a rainy day than a packed full of flavour shawarma? We received great service, promptly seated and served drinks. A quick look through the menu and we quickly decided to go with the shawarma option. There are numerous choices for filling to suit any craving you might have. I chose beef as my protein and the non negotiable we're pickles, fried brinjal and hummus.
A side order of chips that we shared as the shawarma is so packed I struggled to finish it. I'd definitely take a friend or 6 for a chilled, no fuss restaurant dinner.

Schwarma Co is a great restaurant that has tip-top service and food. I've been there several times, and have had many pleasant experiences. My favourite meal is the cubed lamb in pita. Most meals are available as platters as well, for the more hungry customers.
The last time I went there, I ordered the normal lamb schwarma, and was disappointed to find that most of the meat was fat and cartlidge. I won't be having that meal again. I'll stick to the cubed lamb.
However, this is usually a lovely place, so I'll be going back and hopefully having my faith restored in them.

Went with work colleagues to this place, I wasn't very excited - turns out the food here is great! The lamb is served in a massive wrap, had hummus, babaganoosh, brinjals, chilli sauce. It's big enough for two people to share or take a doggy bag, no wonder they are so pricey. Delicious thanx!
Was very satisfied with my meal. I had the falafel and it was hands down the best I've ever had. They had an amazing selection of extras that were generously applied. A little bit on the expensive side for what you get however I definitely think it was worth it. I would recommend going upstairs when you eat there. It's so much quieter and you have a much better ambiance.
30.09.2016 Finally made my way here after continuously hearing good things. Luckily it wasn't as busy when I arrived to order takeaways. Ordered a chicken and a lamb schwarma. I was overwhelmed with the amount of toppings to choose from but tried to keep it simple with hummus, peppers, salsa, coleslaw and sauce along with a packets of chips. The shop has a lot of other little things to purchase and the staff were friendly and efficient.
I tucked in when I got home. I enjoyed it a lot and the portion sizes were good just felt it lacked salt on everything including the chips to bring out that extra flavour.

The falafel is the best I've tasted (Anat who?) And the lamb options are great. The lamb kebab and lamb shish kebab (note the difference because I didn't the first time around) in laffa are my favs. I really like that you can pick your own salads even when dining in and they're always fresh and good. Portions are very generous so go hungry.

What a great little discovery, courtesy of a friend. A group of us popped in for dinner last night, and I was really blown away by the quality of the food in this pumping little shop. You can either sit down and order, or grab a takeaway - the queue at the takeaway was really long.
Select your fillings and your vehicle - be it Laffa or Pita or even as a platter. Burgers and salads are also on offer. My falafel in pita was delicious and really well priced for the size. Service was good, and judging by how packed it was, this is certainly a local hangout of note.

I haven't been to Schwarma Company in ages so we decided to come by for lunch and it was as good as ever. Absolute best schwarmas I've had outside of the Middle East. To drink I had the big 5 juice which was yummy and fresh, their lemonade is also really good. To eat I had a falafel laffa wrap which was really delicious, the falafels are packed with flavour. My boyfriend had the lamb schwarma which was also really delicious. The small restaurant/store is also packed with tasty treats like baklava and halva to take home with you.

Around the table we tried lamb and chicken schwarmas and they were all met with equal enthusiasm. Absolutely stuffed with meat and salad, the portions are massive!
The staff were friendly albeit a little slow, due to the place being packed on a Friday night. We were a bit cramped at our table upstairs, but that's the only complaint.
Delicious food, great coffee (with a red cappuccino option for me) and a good vibe. We will be back!
Was here the other night and I went with what I always get, the lamb laffa. The portion size is awesome with a generous amount of lamb. I love being involved in the selection of salads and the variety is wide so you can have it just the way you like it. One of these days I may have to stray from the tried-and-tested laffa because the food going to other tables always smells and looks incredible.
However whenever I go the service never seems to be very good which is a let down. The waiters just seem irritable and are absent.
I haven't been here for awhile but it is noticeably a regular for most people who love a laffa or a pita. Baby chicken and ribs are also delicious.

The best part about having the Schwarma Co on our doorstep is that every Mediterranean craving is cured in a matter of minutes. Although their Schwarmas are, of course, world-class, we decided to share the lamb shank this time around and what an absolute delight it was! I decided to meet my friend here for lunch the other day and it was honestly such a great dining experience. When you walk in you are greeted by tables of freshly baked treats. The different varieties of baklava definitely caught my attention.
What I find cool about this restaurant is that it has an upstairs and downstairs section. Both sections have their own chefs preparing your food. You can take a glance at them as they work their culinary magic.
I love my cocktails so naturally I ordered one. I decided to try their apple and kiwi mojito. It was absolutely refreshing and had well balanced flavours.
In terms of my main, I opted for their chicken schnitzel in laffa. You go to the chef and you choose five toppings. I decided to get aubergines, salsa, hummus, a falafel, spicy potatoes and guacamole. Let me just tell you that the laffa is massive! I could only eat half of mine even though it was incredible. Every topping has its own distinct taste, yet they all work well together. Every bite was better than the last, that's how good it was.
I must also commend them on their superb service. They are friendly and they work very efficiently. Honestly one of my new favourite lunch spots.

Best lamb Schwarma is South Africa. Just a little disappointing that they do not serve pork. If you are in the mood for a Schwarma, give it a try.
Nice vibe and amazing food their shwarma's are the best I've ever had. A plus for this restaurant is the ribs and burgers and steaks are extremely tasty too. So a variety of dishes that can suit multiple cravings at the table. The portions are big so you definitely get what you pay for in both quality, taste and portion. There homemade lemonade is awesome so try that too. The only negative I have is they get very busy so service might be a bit slow sometimes dependent on the night.

It is in the middle of a busy street in Norwood and you can easily miss it, BUT if you get the chance definitely stop and give your taste-buds a night out on the town.
The staff are very friendly and eager to please.
BUT the important part is the food. The decor leaves a little to be desired, but the food totally makes up for that. The half Chicken, half Halloumi Laffa i hands-down one of the best meals you will have! The variety and quality of the sides/additions are great and well prepared. t never fails to please!
I think i go there at least once a week and this week will be no different! They should consider investing in loyalty cards because i would be there every week!

A visit to shwarma Co is a bit other wordly. Are you in Europe, the middle east or Norwood? A meeting place for many, the restaurant buzzes all day all week. The food is heavenly, with fresh and generous portions. I'm sure the angels eat their humous, it is silky smooth and delicious. A regular haunt for many regulars. .Unfortunately it's on the other side of town from me , or I would be one of those.
This popular middle eastern restaurant has been the hype of Grant Ave in Norwood for as long as I can remember. They are notorious for their delectable shuwarma (as the name suggests).
My favourite is the chicken laffa - choose your 5 salads from their vast selection, add some hummus, top it with their secret sauce and voila! Be warned, it's enormous - so come hungry!
I've also had the fillet steak here several times, as well as beef burgers - both were mind blowingly delicious. Their chips are equally tasty.
The place gets absolutely packed on weekend nights, so be prepared to wait for a table or in line for your takeout. It's a good idea to phone ahead in advance and place your order for take away/ pick up.
The staff are friendly and efficient, even though service can seem a bit chaotic during peak hours.

This place is great for a Sunday lunch. A variety of fresh salads to fill your shawarma with and their hummus is absolutely great. Te prices aren't low for a shawarma place but they're not too high either.
My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for years and one of its best kept secrets is most definitely their RIBS!
Order the 1kg ribs with half salad and half chips and I promise it is well worth the try. The meat on the ribs are the juicy, fall off the bone kind of meat. A definite must try! Real bang for buck as there is a ton of meat on the ribs.
Another winner on the menu is the mushroom and chicken livers on a platter (you get to choose 5 salads with chips/rice). The chicken livers are done to perfection!

The food is really fantastic. Very authentic and tastes homemade. Service is alright, we were left unattended for around 15min before we had our order taken.
Best restaurant in the area and has been for my whole life. Highly recommend the skinny lamb chops, laffas & falafel - though it seems you absolutely can’t go wrong with anything here. Also so much fun choosing all your salads.
This place is amazing. Service is excellent. The ribs are the best, and they don't skimp on the meat in the Schwarma. Some places you play find the meat, but here you get value for money.
A long time established eatery, freshly made salads and pitas. Special menu always interesting feasts. Now serving breakfasts. The Ziva is spectacular!!

The halloumi and falafel are perfect for the vegetarians. There's a good variety of options and the fresh topping bar allows for a different experience each time, or for consistency. I recommend adding the fried eggplants.
They also provide great platters for catering at your own venue.
Their food is always tasty and well worth it . Great place to spend time with friends and enjoy a tasty meal .
