If you come here and you do not order the bem bom Latte you have committed a cardinal sin!
This cafe has been a family favorite sins I was a child and I have never been disappointed.
The pastries are delicious (perfect to enjoy with your latte) or take home for yummy treat after Sunday lunch.
Their cafe is always busy and yet their staff are well prepared and on the ball.
Lovely place for coffee feels like you in Portugal, they have a nice selection of pastries, prego is delicious, service is great the manager Claudia is very very friendly young girl... Goes out of her way
What i really like about this place is the vibe, the mixture of old and young gathered at this not so small cafe enjoying a coffee or like us another really awesome hangover cure on a Sunday afternoon.
My favourite dish - Prego em Bolo do Caco
2nd favourite - Francesinhas
My 3rd is all the delicious sweet stuff they sell lol ...
But seriously Portuguese cuisine is rated in my top five favourites of all time, from the caldo verde to the pasteis de nata i just enjoy it all. And if its Portuguese you like then Bembom is the place to be, they are amazing and all the times i've been there i have never been disappointed once, the food prepared are always tasty and fresh. and the coffee here is good too,
Whether you want a quick pastry and coffee or a meal a with a beer this place is a great option.
It does get busy and you can expect to wait, but the food will always come out fresh and hot.
I recommend this establishment alot and you have to try it out to understand why
I enjoyed a simple yet delicious breakfast. The toast with the slice of ricotta cheese is so good! The place was full yet we received efficient service. Wonderful breads and pastries as well.
The closest Portuguese tasting treats outside Lisbon. Love this place and used to drive all the way here until they opened a closer one. When u notice it's a popular Portuguese hangout, you quickly know that it must be authentic! Could eat rissoles & codfish croquettes the whole day :)
Always busy. Farturas the best! But sold out by 10! .........................................................................................
If it's an authentic 'pasteis de nata' (baked custard pastry) and good espresso that you are after, this is it! Sometimes the service can be a bit slow as it does get busy. I think a decor do over could be considered.
Decided to have some bff time with Carol Ceecee Phakade haven't seen her for a while. First experience here was actually not bad I love the food portion not too overwhelming. The steak was good just fine n the egg made just right..my fav was the fries cuz I'm a carbs junkie 😅🙈. Definitely wanna go back to try out their sweet treats...
Carol Ceecee Phakade
+3.5
Having lunch with my girl Kutlwano Mphati it was our first time here and actually it wasn't bad except for the the service was slow but the food was lovely
To start I liked the hot chocolate, which is a pretty huge deal. I had the Beef Burger with chips and it was actually really nice. My only 'issues' where that they really could clean the restaurant a little more (the floors weren't that clean and it just didn't seem clean enough) and the decor is absolutely hideous!
So glad this little cafe is so close to home as it truly is a hidden gem. I have only been once as every time we try to go, it's too full. On a Saturday and Sunday morning it is honestly buzzing like you have never seen somewhere before. And nearly everyone is talking Portuguese which is truly lovely!
With it being so busy, the service I found to be a little bit slow, but the breakfast was really good and the prices are not too expensive.
I often pop past Bembom to buy some of those delicious Portuguese custard tarts as they have a small bakery where you can buy yummies to take home, and let me tell you , they are very yummy!! If you in the south, give it a try!
The most amazing Portuguese pastries and beautiful food. Always fresh, always delicious, always consistent. Have never been let down once and the pastries are a staple in our weekly boardroom meetings
Being Portuguese certainly isn't a prerequisite to enjoy Bembom, though you'll find a majority of the patrons are. The buzz in the place is electric and infectious while being completely unpretentious. It's like stepping into a cafe in Europe, with the sounds and the smells all serving to reinforce this impression. The food is hearty Portuguese fare, offering a wide variety of meals and imported drinks from the Old Country, as well as a mind-meltingly delicious array of baked treats.
We loved it. We go there as often as we can. Just bear in mind that Bembom might be full up because of its popularity, particularly during the morning breakfast session.
Being Portuguese and living in the South, going to Bem Bom is a standard thing to do. I still remember when they first opened as a little coffee shop stuck in this awkward space by the elevators... They have grown fantastically since then and so has their menu.
Nothing beats my favourite Bem Bom coffee - coffee with condensed milk. They have a great menu with some nice traditional Portuguese dishes for breakfast and lunch....when you go there you will expect to hear the buzz of the Portuguese people speaking, I always feel like I belong...
If you don't have a chance to sit down and enjoy their good food and bread you have to have their phenomenal Pasteis de Nata - the best in the country (and some of my family in Portugal have said it's the best they have had).
So in other words STOP reading this review and go there.
Bembom has got to be the best authentic Portuguese restaurant I have been to. I have been searching for a great tasting prego for a long time, ever since I had one at Lusito Land. Most other places just don't get it right, either too spicy or too bland. I have eaten the beef prego and the chicken, and they are true Portuguese style pregos. The food was also very cheap, and portions were big enough.
I even ended up purchasing the prego sauce that they used, I just hope I will be able to reproduce the pregos that they make. The place gets quite busy and noisy inside, so it is best to get a seat outside.
