Definitely worth a visit. The surroundings are beautiful, the waterfall in the distance is gorgeous. The staff were lovely, the coffee was strong and the scone was yummy. The farm animals are nice for children as is the jungle gym. And it is pet friendly.

Beautiful views of Howick falls. We had a veggie burger which was excellent except for the side sauce, not that good. But a great spot to relax and enjoy lunch!

Great place for kids. They have a play area with jungle gyms, animals and space to run. We had views of the howick falls and it was a proper hidden gem! The food and drinks were good and everyone enjoyed their time there. The main building was interesting because it's a converted old house with interesting rooms and old artifacts inside. The kids were fascinated!

Wonderful location off the beaten track in Howick. It seems to be very kid friendly with a large play area and donkeys wandering in their paddock. The view over the falls is good (see photos) but it’s a shame you can’t get closer. The path is closed off for some reason. The food is very good and reasonable. I had the beef curry pie - very flavoursome and just enough for lunch. The service was also good. If you want a tranquil break with great views then you could do a lot worse.

HOWICKS HIDDEN GEM One of the most tranquil settings on the beautiful old Fairfell Farm with views overlooking the Howick Falls. The House was built in 1870 and stone that was quarried on the farm was used to build the beautiful homestead. All the wood is mainly Yellowwood that came from the Yellowwood indigenous forests in the Karkloof. A wide range of great food at exceptionally reasonable prices. Services was attentive and efficient. All and all a great experience and stunning venue rich in history.

An amazing venue with affordable and delicious food. I have been to Yellowwood Cafe a few times and I have always left feeling calm, full and relaxed. Yellowwood is a wonderful venue for the family. There are donkeys, an outside play area and comfortable seating. I highly recommend the veg tramezzini. As a local, it would be great if they offered delivery through Mr Delivery, or themselves. Their food is just that good!

There's been some improvements done on the place since I last visited. It's a great place to go to with kids. Sitting space has been extended and there's plenty of playing equipment. The food is still delish as always 😋

Once in a life time experience, we recieved 5 star treatment from the second we walked in, even the animals gave us a stellar treatment. Food was lovely and fresh and wholesome. The setting was just moving and the day was a perfect one just out of a novel, with the valley in the distance, sunny skies, smiles and laughter all round. Must recommend for families with kids who enjoy they kids interacting with animals or want them to overcome their fears of animals. Another tip would be to bring apples or carrots for the miniature donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep and pigs.

Such a beautiful cosy hidden gem restaurant, loved the ambiance of this place & the lovely fire place on a gloomy day . My husband and I love cafes like this & will definitely be back. Desserts are a must have!

This is an especially great restaurant for taking the kids. Lots of jungle gyms and an awesome animal farm that looks over Howick Falls. Superb food and stunning outdoor setting while you lunch.

Lovely casual country eatery. I preferred this eatery to the ones in Howick village just because it's more casual. The food was nice and it's pet friendly, which we love. It's popular too. Worth a visit
