Review Abingdon Wine Estate - Howick

What an amazing experience we had at Abingdon Wine Estate. Our intention was to attend a wine tasting session, but we 10min late. Thankfully we were kindly invited in by Jane for some delicious wine. The session was very interactive, enlightening and extremely divine, Ian was great! The hospitality was on another lever, and the food was so delicious, I wish we were able to stay long. Thank you for an amazing experience, I would highly recommend it to any wine and food enthusiast.

I loved stopping at Abingdon. You have to meet the owners and have a wine tasting on a Friday or Saturday and hear about how their KZN wines are crafted on their farm. Loved the experience.

Stopped at Abington Wine Estate for their wine tasting. What a comfortable venue. Fire going and a warm atmosphere. The wine tasting comprises 5 wines - each very distinct. A great relaxing experience - although we didn’t eat, the restaurant was full so I’m sure it’s also popular. Felt more like visiting friends for a glass of wine.

Abingdon is honestly one of our absolute favorite spots in the Midlands. My fiancé and I have been visiting regularly for many, many years and have watched with happy hearts how it has changed and grown over the years; how much love and hard work the family has put into it. The wines are incredible, the food mouthwatering, the family are great company, and the setting idealic! We know we will still be visiting for many, many years to come!

Wow, where to begin?! From phoning ahead when we made our reservation, to our arrival and right up until we left, the hosts were so friendly and hospitable. Our waitress, Londi, was well informed about the different wines we tasted and she was also so helpful and efficient. They no longer offer wine tastings so we decided to order the "large glasses" to share amongst ourselves and do our own mini wine tasting, just a little tip, and their wines are absolutely heavenly! My favourites were the Sauvignon Blanc and their MCC. We ordered the different cheese boards and some tapas to sample amongst ourselves, also a tip. The food was delicious and fresh and well-presented. The place is peaceful and clean, and has such an amazing ambience. They have three big friendly fur babies on site & they didn't bother us at all. Overall, an amazing day out with my friends at a really beautiful place. If I could, I'd rate it 1000 stars! We were among the first guests to arrive and the last to leave! It's such a romantic place as well, take your SO out on a date there, you won't be disappointed.

Fabulous wine tasting experience yesterday. Excellent wines, a superb platter, divine homemade bread, and an informative and pleasant conversation with the owners. Enjoyed every moment.

Hidden Gem in Howick ..truly Blessed to have been treated to this phenomenal experience ,Family owned and run with such a rich history of wine making ..Janes food is out of this world ....treated a few Clients to wine pairing and they absolutely raved about it .One of the finest establishments in South Africa that can definitely compete with the Worlds best

What a fantastic find. Hearty food with an emphasis on sharing, wine is impressive. Was refreshing to have the entire family present to discuss their baby, passion is evident. Will definitely be back.
