Review Blue Lotus - Hout Bay

I'm from Durban, so Cape Townians don't hate me for my review haha, im stating I didnt have a chance to try all the sushi places upfront and i know us sushi lovers can be defensive over our fav spots!!! but out of the ones I tried Blue Lotus is BY MILES the best!!!! Lovely chilled atmosphere if you want to eat in, staff and chefs are amazing. Now for the most important!!! The sushi!!!! Presentation is stunning, portions are huge, and tastes DELICIOUS, I would say better than any sushi place in Durban. In the pics is Tempura Prawn hand roll, Tiger Rolls, Dragon Rolls, Lock Roll, Hout Bay Roll. Prices are well worth the value. Also ordered a Prawn Fried Noodles, loads of prawns and delicious and again huge portion.

Delicious asian food, Kind Service - clear recommendation. We enjoyed Sushi and Pad Thai - ok an awkward combo - still it felt like being on Bangkok and Tokyo again, at the same time. Am bit unfortunate is that the interior falls behind the food, thus you could decide for take away.

Just had 4 platters and oh my gosh...flipping excellent. The cashew sushi was amazing and all the salmon was delicious and super fresh.

I've had terrific sushi from South Africa to San Francisco. This is first-rate. The Hout Bay roll is awesome. On the Thai side, the chicken phad Thai is a favorite.

Best Sushi I have ever eaten! The attention to detail is superb. The portions are big and delicious. If you are in Cape Town, definitely come here.

The sushi & sashimi were very good and fresh as well as fried rice. The service was very nice and attentive. We were making a few customization requests to the order and were happy with everything.

Highly recommended for great take-away! Honestly the best Thai green chicken curry I have ever had and the soups are fantastic. Large portion sizes and excellent flavour. Not the most inviting interior for sit down so we will stick with their amazing take-away dishes.

Sushi was fantastic. The service was lovely. However the owners take the all the tips from the waiters. This is terrible practice!

I have been here several times before. The waiter did an excellent job. The entree I had was sublime. I was happy to see how clean everything was. The food was flavorful, savory, and succulent. Solid 4 stars, would recommend.
