Review Woolworths Cafe - Hout Bay

MJ
The Woolies Cafe is my go to place for a weekend brunch/ coffee/ cake when I don't feel like driving beyond Hout Bay. I visit most weekends but have never thought to leave a review. The waitresses and waiter (there's only male waiter) are very pleasant and helpful. The quality of food and coffee is consistently good with fresh ingredients. They are also open to swopping items to accommodate your request. My favourite breakfast is the corn fritter and avo salsa breakfast. I normally swop the bacon for scrambled eggs and add a portion of smokey beans. The cafe is in the Woolworths store so you don't get a cafe vibe if that's what you're looking for. Depending on where you sit you also have a view of the mountains. Perfect for a breakfast where you can catch up on the newspapers and super convenient if you need to do some Woolies shopping. Reasonable prices and pleasant! Recommended.

I wish I can find a similar quality-price brunching place like this where I live. Fresh pressed juice with a touch of ginger equivalent to €1.5 , a sandwich of multi seed bread with chicken mustard mayo and avocado. Wonderful!

Bongani is an excellent and efficient waiter who always remembers my order. The staff in general are very nice and I often enjoy a breakfast here. A welcoming atmosphere. Very convenient.

It wasn't very expensive, the service we got was great although the food took a little long to come out and wasn't the best. It was still an overall good breakfast.

Great place to shop, with the excellent quality Woolworths is well known for. We always love to sit for awhile in their restaurant, excellent coffee. Added bonus having the mountains to gaze at.

Love love the waffle (gourmet) they served. My little man enjoyed his breaky too. Super cold as it was in the morning. But woolies is for eskimos anyway. They have warm blankets for those not so accustomed to the cold lol.

Had a sample of their awesome carrot cake and cheese cake slice with coffee. Great spot for a coffee stop. And staff is really helpful.

This must be one of Woolworths Flagship stores. Particularly enjoyed the scones that are made at the premises.

Grabbed a takeaway cappuccino on my way home the other day and decided to get a decaf. Haven't tried ww decaf before and I was quite impressed. The cafe itself is a bit small at this branch but it wasn't too full so i guess that's fine then.

The food here is surprisingly well priced and really tasty! While the juice (which I order each time) is very small, all other portions are generous.
The service hasn't been the best (on any of my visits) but it's convenience and quality make sure I come back each time.
One thing to mention: the last time I was there the manager was shouting at the staff quite rudely and very loudly and made the stay quite uncomfortable, not a good image.

One of the best woolies cafes I've been to (and I've tried a few!)
The cappuccinos were delicious & the scones were scrumptious! The service was so quick with very friendly waitresses, will be back!

Small place, a bit cramped and noisy when busy. That said, I think the service was good. Bit sad that they had no croissants. Really wanted to try the cronut. The scones were lovely. Soya cappucino was great.

I've read some pretty bad things about this cafe the last few weeks and I find it quite strange that I disagree with most. Every time I've been here, I've been greeted with a smile, my order was quick, easy and faultless and the food was delicious. Be it takeaway or sit down. I think people have just become accustomed to complaining. Still a woolworths cafe Hout Bay fan !! Oh & that Carrot cake !!! Heavenly!
