Review The Lookout Hout Bay Restaurant & Bar - Hout Bay

This place is awesome, fairly expensive food for the tourists like me, definitely the place to go if you want to eat at a premium place in Hout bay. Amazing seafood, sushi, burgers, cocktails and beers, champagne 🍾 all the fancy stuff. Looking over the Hout bay waters and boats, fresh air and literally the best customer service. Surrounded by mostly white people, 99% tourists, can be booked online for a reservation which is pretty special, especially when they write your name on the little board there and then time you'll arrive there. 5STAR!! LITERALLY AMAZING!!! 😂The only downside is it's not on a silver platter.

I enjoyed the grilled calamari, great flavors, and well cooked. They have a great wine selection. I would not recommend the ribs and calamari combo. The ribs had to be remade because the first lot was tough and dry. Beautiful views of the harbor and mountain.

Not just the most beautiful view but we were spoiled with seals playing the ocean right in front of us. The seafood platter(Captain seafood platter) was such a spoil, calamari melted in my mouth, and the prawn was so delicious just to little😉 mussels was the best we ever had. Our twins couldn’t stop eating…. Staff friendly and competent. You will see us definitely again:)

The setting was stunning, was there on a Sunday afternoon and a band played from 15:00 the afternoon which added some great old rock type feels and the atmosphere electric! Great band! Food was tops and at R12 a oyster, who could resist! Sushi was fresh and the seafood combos and platters are great value! Been here a few times and it doesnt dissapoint!

I loved every minute spent there with my two favourite people...the food was delicious and the service was great,our waitress was friendly and super fast... I would recommend that place to anyone looking to take a drive for amazing seafood and the amazing view

If you love good quality, fresh seafood this is the place. Excellent service even when very busy. Great views across the Marina. Highly recommend.

We had a great lunch here, and the the oysters were the best I have had in South Africa and our waiter Free was awesome

I had the pulled pork pizza and it was delicious, met my expectations and more. Wife had the calamari and prawns, calamari was perfectly tender and prawns cooked well. Chips not the best though. Amazing views and great service.

Great place to sit and watch the boats and seals. Terrific service. Will come back again.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. First class food and service. Will definitely go again next visit to SA. Don't be out off by entrance - it looks small - but opens up into a vast restaurant with magnificent views.

Used to frequent this place every Sunday with my mom before she passed. She love this place so much, as their food and live music on a Sunday was always a great time ,from people dancing to the local life you hear around and the ocean right below you. Really just a stunning place to eat at and the food is amazing. In all the years I have gone there I can not recall a single meal I didn't enjoy. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a meal after walking the harbor. You really can't go wrong, so sit down relax and enjoy the scenery, food and entertainment.

It’s a nice restaurant with large meals. I shared a platter for one and it was more than enough for two. Desert was awesome too. The staff were friendly and the service excellent. The restaurant is right on the water, so you get the great feel of the harbour.

Good food and friendly staff. The view is amazing and you can sometimes see seals in the water. It was a little bit windy in the afternoon, even with the glass shutters. But there was a good selection of delicious food on the menu!
