Review The Baobab Restaurant (formerly Upside Down Restaurant) - Hoedspruit

Heaven. This place is not just about the great pancakes and good coffee, it’s mostly about the amazing views and great service. We will remember Patric’s kindness, as he gave us a spontaneous tour around the place, explaining about the Baobab tree (it’s 2,000 years old! 😲). Highly recommended for anyone that is looking to relax.

Delicious pancakes in a peaceful setting overlooking the farm lands. A breath taking view of the largest Boabab tree in Africa. As u sit here u have the chickens crowing in the background which gives u a real feeling of country life.

This place is amazing and what they do with they're food is even better. The stuffed pancakes are the greatest thing in the entire world and even if you don't have a sweet tooth there are pancakes with savoury fillings like chicken etc. All the tables have a great view of the giant baobab tree and it really lives up to its name. You are welcome to take all tje baobab fruit laying on the ground, just not any in the tree as you are not allowed to climb the tree due to safety risks and so on. This is an amazing place with amazing food, I highly recommend it.

The place is worth the trip. It's a pancake restaurant; I had game and white sauce with cheese in a pancake and vanilla ice cream pancake. They were delicious! I struggled to finish them. The scenery is peaceful. There is a little playground for the little ones. The baobab tree is so big it looks like a natural garden.

Very nice atmosphere. Only food item on menu is pancakes with a nice selection of fillings, either savoury or sweet. The spicy chicken and game & mushroom pancakes were very nice. The Nutella pancake was very nice. The homemade ginger beer was nice but could do with more bite.

Cute café with a beautiful tree and a bit of history in the surrounds.

Lovely and peaceful setting. The pancakes are amazing. A little more options would be great (as they only serve savory ans sweet pancakes) but overall it's a great spot. Clean and family friendly!

Nice little spot if you want to grab a quick light meal. The pancakes are good. The Cappuccinos could do with some work. Affordable, friendly. Pretty scenery.

Very nice quite and rustic farm atmosphere. Their speciality is filled pan cakes. The setting is very relaxing and there is a big Boabab tree next to it.

It is a great opportunity to embrace a huge baobab tree. It is awesome to be in front of a very old live being. There you can sip a cup of good cup of coffee while you contemplate the baobab tree and a wishing well.

Great views and awesome staff, pancakes were delectable but the toasted sandwiches could do with some work (IE fresh ingredients rather than slices of processed cheese).
