Review Madeleines - Hillcrest

A lovely little coffee shop in a small but comfy space. We sat outside on the balcony. It was busy but not over full. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We were a group and we all enjoyed our morning together. Lovely treats in the form of baked goods and the meals were beautifully presented. Everyone agreed it was a great choice. I believe gluten free items are available. Check before hand.

We had the great pleasure of having Madeleines' first ever biscoff cake... And oh my word!! It was one of the best cheesecakes we've had. Yum yum... Here's to many more biscoff cakes! Thank you for going out of your way to accommodate my husband's birthday wish. Barbara

Lovely cozy atmosphere with some delectable and delicious treats. The milkshake was amazing and there were just too many great looking treats to choose from. They offer so many amazing things to eat in or take away including frozen meals. Staff are friendly and attentive. Outside seating is beautiful and perfect for a sunny day.

Madelines made the most amazing cakes for my sons 1st birthday! They not only looked good but tasted amazing too. Thank you so much.

I bought a bacon and cheddar quiche and also a chicken panini. Both were fabulous in every way. I will definitely go back to this place as soon as I can to expore more flavours.

The best cakes, I use all the time for all of my cake needs. Delicious and moist and so friendly and accommodating. Best gluten free cake I’ve tasted as well

I called Madeline’s from Australia to order a cake for parents 50th wedding anniversary. Communication was so easy via WhatsApp - they were able to make a cake that I knew my parents would love - coffee and pecan They also made a bespoke cake topper for me. Communication was outstanding and so easy, they were able to recommend the right size cake on the number of guests and it was ready for collection at the time we decided on - the cake was packaged beautifully and according to my parents the best cake they have ever had! Thank you for allowing me to spoil them on their special day and especially grateful for as I live so far away and I knew I could rely on you x your service and your food as usual is always outstanding! You’ll hear from me again x

My mom and I took a trip up the hill to try a new (new to us, not new to the area) little spot, in Hillcrest, that I'd seen countless posts about on Facebook. What a lovely little cafe Madeleines is. Breakfast was delish. I had the Scrambled Eggs with Bacon on a Croissant, and my mom had a half portion (available on the menu) of Eggs Benedict. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The large cappuccino was also a proper size for an adult, not like some restaurants I've been to. I finished my breakfast off with a delicious "Green" (freshly squeezed) drink - apple, cucumber, ginger, courgette and something else I think. The prices weren't bad, given how well prepared the food was. I also love the little shop with the pastries, that if we hadn't already had breakfast, we would be devouring; and heat-and-eat meals. If I lived closer I would definitely pop in there more than a couple of times a week for those. They looked fantastic. All in all, we'll definitely be back.

Oh my Soul... I Woke up and realized again it was in Heaven on Earth in A Hillcrest Of 1000 Hills... At a lovely Cafe called Madeleines. So firstly this place is just a delight to the eyes body sences and smell. I walked around in awe of all the detail to everything from the hats on the wall to the China plates so percetly laid. Then the intimacy of passing through the kitchen 'where all the chefs secrets are exposed' made me feel safe.... All laid open The waiters where prompt and just as eloquent as the surroundings themselves. below us was a lake /pond with wonderful nature greenery for the Greene s ... it it heals me it comforts me it loves me and I love it. Nature Nurtures Neteru The pulsation that went through my eyes when I saw the delight that was my food, French cuisine 100% we had the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine full portions and woaw, give that Chef a 🥃 Places that serve that Holy Water called the H2O in glass bottles BooooM is like the biodegradable take aways LEVEL UPING UP FOR OUR PLANET Awesomeness is Madeleines Cafe I'll be Back....... %-)))

Cute space, a beautiful lookout to a pond with some geese, warm and cozy inside. The waiters were friendly and efficient, and the food was exceptionally tasty. My partner had the mince on toast with egg and I had the eggs benedict (and some takeaway chocolate cake). I smelt the mince from my seat and I just had to share meals with my partner; I must say I wish I ordered the mince it was that good. The eggs benny was also amazing, especially with the potato rostis instead of the english muffins. Would recommend both meals, and highly recommend Madeleine's. Thanks so much for the great service and delicious food!

Today's special - chicken, avo, salad open wrap was delicious! Healthy, filling and only R90, with complimentary min (=guilt-free) cheesecake. Lovely seating area at the back. Excellent & friendly service. Recommended!

The waitresses were very friendly and the food was delicious! Lots of great options for meat lovers and vegetarians :)
