Very cool place and awesome setup, they are on the main road and a decent stop if you are travelling through Hermanus
A firm favorite when in Hermanus. Our family has not been disappointed on any of our visits, whether sitting down to breakfast or lunch. Friendly service, tasty Mediteranean inspired dishes, followed by scrumptious cakes, will have any discerning foodie returning for more.
We had lunch here - sesame chicken salad and eggs benedict , the experience was nice but I think the food can be a little better. Nice touches here and there. The place is new, so might need some time to settle in. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Minimalist design and very friendly staff, can enjoy morning coffee there, you can find nice paintings and can get feeling of ocean
My family and I absolutely love visiting Brinjals & Thyme - Jaco is simply the best and most attentive host and every dish he makes is simply delicious - it's impossible to pick a favourite dish, but when their sago pudding is on the "Menu of the Day", buy two!
A truly unique and wonderful experience with stunning food. Both the chef and the manager/host very friendly and approachable. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant has a relaxed ambience. Elegant, different, artistically presented, tasty food. Highly recommended for a truly unique and delicious dining experience 🤩
Was not too happy about being seated at the entrance door with a cold breeze wafting in particularly as there was any number of empty tables available and by the time we left they had not been filled. Perhaps it was due to my rather rough and rugged appearance after the Springboks's victory.
However the oxtail was superb! And there was plenty of it too!! Corkage was minimal and coffee on a par with the oxtail.The table was well set with good quality cutlery crockery and glass.
Will definitely return.
We loved this little gem! The decor is calming and classy. The manager and waiter are super attentive. The food was most delicious and arrived in no time. And not to forget the best milkshakes in town! This must be our favourite restaurant in Hermanus.
The complaints in the reviews are really puzzling. Conor Young clearly has no sense of humour.
And for a husband and wife team to both give one star reviews for the same experience (I guess the salad was not exactly the way she makes it at home), is so petty and rather mean spirited. Then there was Stefano de Koker that recons the waiter was great, but the service was terrible. Is the waiter not the one serving him?? Thank goodness we didn’t take these reviews (that are all void of actual, useful information) seriously. It would have deprived us of a wonderful experience.

Always something different, be it a Morrocan or Tunisian dish or just fried calamari. Cakes on offer also always good fare.
