My boyfriend and I were given tickets for a popup dinner for my birthday - I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is 100% carnivore, but also lactose intolerant. He was rather apprehensive about eating a full on vegan dinner, whilst I could not contain my excitement. Well, after he asked for his 3rd helping of starters, polished off his vegan sushi with hearts in his eyes, and inhaled his dessert, I think it is safe to say that this vegan dinner won him over. The biggest compliment a vegan chef can get is when carnivores ask for more. I was in heaven too and loved every single bite. Karen and Patrick were so warm and entertaining - we loved hearing all their stories. This is such a fantastic concept and we will definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommend for any food lover (vegan or not) who is looking for a fun and new experience. Thanks for having us!

I read about the pop-up vegan dinner by chance, and found it a unique way to experience vegan dining. I'd never had a 3-course vegan meal, and not only was the food delicious and creative, the company and whole experience was amazing! So nice to share the table with 10 'strangers' and have inspiring conversations. Karen and Patrick are such warm and welcoming hosts, I loved the entire evening, and would definitely recommend it!

Having recently moved to Cape Town, and always on the look-out for good vegan food and good company, this was a gem of a find. Patrick and Karen are the perfect hosts, each course light, fresh and full of flavour, all in a wonderful space. I'm going to be a regular at these pop-up dinners.

Karen and Patrick invited me to a vegan pop-up dinner at their home and although I'm not vegan, or even vegetarian, I enjoyed every morsel of the dishes they served. They are warm and generous hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and they present everything beautifully. It is very pretty food, but not in the 'needing to stop for a burger on the way home' sense. The courses are substantial, and they also offer seconds - plenty of us took them up on that! It was a lovely opportunity to meet friendly and interesting people and although I went on my own, I felt comfortable and welcomed throughout the evening. Thanks Karen and Patrick, it was fabulous!

Karen and Patrick from Green & Vegan offer such a unique experience by inviting strangers into their home to enjoy their home-cooked vegan cuisine at an affordable price. It's a fun way to meet new people and share the love of good food (and wine!). It's the second time we've been and we'll definitely go back again and again,. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike.

Patrick & Karen were such wonderful hosts at the Pop Up Vegan Dinner last night. The food was intricate and incredible and made with so much love, from the starters, mains, a mind blowing dessert, and finally completed with a vegan cheese board! Yum. Will definitely be back for more.

The hosts made us all feel at home and relaxed. The food was fresh and tasted very good. The table setting was creative and stylish. Loved the atmosphere. Conversation with other guests flowed. All in all it was a wonderful evening. I can recommend a pop up dinner to future guests.

Such a fantastic evening! Karen and Patrick are really the most wonderful hosts. Their home is warm and furnished comfortably. The table set beautifully and the cocktail was fresh and balanced. The food, well...you're just going to have to experience that level of deliciousness yourself. By the time we left, the evening was turning into night. Our bellies full and our our lives definitely richer from the conversations and the friends, both old and new :)

It was our first pop up dinner and we had such a good time. The food was amazing and Karen & Patrick are lovely hosts. A real good mixture of guests too, lively chats and good laughs. We'll be back as I can't wait to try Karen's home made cheeses.

Good vibe with the guests who had a common interest in healthy, green food. The food was beautifully plated, colourful and tasty. I would have liked to know more about the ingredients i.e. what nutrients are in the ingredients. Will definitely come again.

Karen is also SO helpful and patient with all the questions of a newbie. What a lovely evening!!! We attended a pop-up dining experience with Green & Vegan last evening, and it was an enjoyable, interesting and delectable experience. Patrick and Karen are wonderful hosts, their style at once warm and professional. The hosts and their helper remained calm amidst the flurry of arrivals and the initial crush of people in a fairly limited space. It was clear that they were well prepared for the event (coat hooks for jackets, cocktails at the ready, table seating arranged, etc) and this advance preparation inspired confidence that the situation was always under control. Each course of the meal was clearly explained in advance and this helped those of us new to veganism to understand the flavours and textures. The food was all delicious and the presentation and service were excellent. We enjoyed the eclectic mix of people around their long dining table. Above all, we left with a new sense of the possibilities of vegan food – if slightly daunted by the alchemy that must have taken place in their kitchen to turn simple ingredients into such scrumptious food!

We had the pleasure of joining Karen and Patrick for their Vegan pop up dining experience . While the focus is on producing a superb 5 course vegan meal the experinces lends it self to making new friends on their long table. We enjoyed well executed plant based dishes, innovative cooking techniques and the warmth and love of this down to earth couple. Two courses that blew my mind were the vegan lox and Karen’s homemade vegan cheese. Don’t miss out on this unique dinner, it’s designed for all you love good food.

Food was 5 star quality and our hosts Karen and Patrick gave us a very warm welcome. It felt like home. Lovely evening with all round excellent company and stimulating conversations. Conversations included politics, economics, Netflix and the latest contemporary scandals with a touch on the water crisis and day zero plus the baby boomers, millennium and z generation. Great discussion on how things have changed over the years and what could be expected in the future. We laughed and listened to the wisdom of everyone who felt at liberty to give insight on several issues. Thanks Patrick and Karen for creating an intimate space and for the delicious sushi evening. Will definitely return for another wonderful evening.

An evening needs great food and great conversation to be memorable and the bi-weekly pop-up restaurant Green And Vegan delivers on both. From the ice-breaker cocktail upon arrival at hosts Karen and Patrick's welcoming home in the Green Point village, to the last after-dinner organic chocolate a few hours later, the evening was relaxed, fun, and the food delicious. Guests were a mix of friends, couples, singles, tourists and locals, mostly non-vegan, all curious to try out a new dining experience. The 4-course vegan meal around the long festive table was tasty and inventive but the showstopper was the beautifully presented trio of desserts: rich chocolate cake ladled with a wicked salted caramel sauce, a handcrafted chia chocolate truffle and Chef Patrick's berry vegan cheesecake. This has to be the best cheesecake. Ever. The chatty table was blown away when Karen presented the final course: platters with a selection of vegan cheeses - 2 fermented, 2 soft cheeses and the creamiest of mozzarella - all home-made. A number of guests at the pop-up dinner were regulars, and brought friends to introduce to this unique event. One can understand why they keep coming back.

A very enjoyable evening indeed. Though I enjoy meat, I did not miss it at all. My tastebuds were knocked for a six by the fine cuisine served. From starter to dessert, the dishes were attractively presented, and tasted divine. Even though seconds of the main course was available, the portions served are satisfying, yet playfully leaves you wanting more of this goodness. Rounded off with a variety of cheese, crackers and fruit mebos..... Each explosion of flavor complimenting the other so well. Guests were an amalgamation of different Nationalities, but conversation and laughter flowed throughout the evening. Efficiency and perfection accompanied everything, from the ticketing to the directions, introducing the various courses and explaining the preparation of the meals, everything so meticulous, creating a relaxed ambience where everyone felt right at home. A night with a difference, where one is, 'served by the stars' Well done to Karen & Patrick......Wishing you a Full House with each event.

Had fabulous time at Karen & Patrick's. Not only is the food very fine and delicious (home made bread & cheeses, 4 course delicate dinner), the warm & cozy atmosphere they create make you feel much at home. Conversations (& wine) flooding and laughs. can't wait the next one to happen !

The Green Vegan is pushing vegan food into the 4-5 star realm. Karen and Patrick's passion clearly filters through into the multi course meal, which is full of organic freshness . The vibe is relaxed, cosmopolitan, informed and intelligent, no holy Vegan dogma, open thinking and lots to digest. ENJOY when you manage to get a booking.
