Snails to die for! I have never seen such a wide selection of wine before! Portion of main dish was wow, there was no space for creme brulee, we have to go back at least for the pudding.

This is about my 7th visit to Transkaroo and I have never been dissapointed! The food prepared by chef Julian is truly an exquisite and unique experience. This time around I had their prawn plate, 6 giant Argentina prawns with a green curry sauce served on Basmati rice. It was out of this world! The service is always of high standard especially yesterday when we were served by waiter Franco who was well informed on all dishes and wines. Thank you for a lovely welcoming experience!

Great atmosphere, kind and attentive waiters and awesome dishes on the menu. "Unfortunately" the portions are so big that one struggles having one of the delicate desserts. We will be back, for sure! Transkaroo is the best place to eat along the Garden Route!

My husband Briand and I ate at Transkaroo on Thursday evening 5 July 2018. I had skaapstertjies which were "to die for"! My husband had skilpaadjies, so delicious, he almost ordered a 2nd round, but decided on the beef short rib which he totally loved and enjoyed as well. We had friendly good service, the waiter explained the menu in such detail so we knew exactly what to expect. Will definately visit again on our next road trip. Thank you very much!!!

Exceptional traditional menu. Food made to perfection. Skaapstertjies, skilpadjies, fish cakes ( must be the best in the country ! ), lamb neck , pork belly , etc. Great value for money and great setting. Joe was our waitress and made us feel extremely welcome and provided excellent service. We shall be back soon !

Our first experience in this restaurant, and definitely not the last. The restaurant has a very nice set-up - very warm, authentic and inviting. Very nice how they display all their wines and other liquors, for their guest to see and pick out themselves. As we were looking at the wines, one of the waiters gave us very good advice about the wines. Very helpful and friendly! And the food is great!! We had the beef ribs and the lamb ribs - both were absolutely delicious 😍

The price, quality, ambience, service and just about everything is perfect. Not a single thing on the plate was anything other than perfection. Absolutely worth every penny

A quaint restaurant located in an authentic railway office complex. The original woodwork and railway lines adds value to this cozy upmarket restaurant. The food and selection is excellent and well worth a second visit. Staff were equally above par and all in all mafe for a memorable experience. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic dining experience. An old station that has been converted. The atmosphere is great, the food was brilliant. Very few restaurants pah attention to the details. The Creme Brule with the spun sugar was superb. If you are in the area, take the time and spoil yourself. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time.

Fine dining in the heart of calmness. We arrived a bit early to an empty restaurant, but 30 minutes later it was completely packed with families. Definitely a different kind of place. No menus whatsoever. Everything they serve to you can be found written on the walls and something we really enjoyed is their unique wine list, or actually, their wine display. The waiters are extremely friendly and help you with a big smile and never making you wait. Giving you suggestions on what they think is the best for the evening, which really gives Transkaroo that homey feel. The food... Oh so amazingly delicious and very unique to Africa which is great for the tourists that make use of the Garden Route. Maybe a little pricey if you compare it to anything else in Great Brak, but this sure is a place to visit when in the area. Transkaroo gets Two Tasty Tummies' stamp of approval.

This has got to be my most favourite restaurant. There is never a disappointment, the style of Food is fine dining with a casual vibe. Food is excellent, service is good and desserts are to die for. We send all our, local and international guests here from Amelias by the sea. This is a real gem where I can honestly say to our guests the food is consistent, delicious. Excellent value for money and a wonderful experience. They never come away disappointed, always complimentary and thrilled that we send them there. I love the atmosphere, the unique decor with a history of the old railway house, and the huge trees which surround the property. And then you have this beautiful view from the outside decking area which overlooks the Groot Brak Lagoon. ❤❤this place #AmeliasGuestLodge The only restaurant recommended to all our guests who stay with us. Food is unbelievably fantastic.

I have previously rated this restaurant. Last night we had their east (dumplings) and west (duck) offerings. Superb! Would give the whole experience more than five stars if I could. Very excited about the additions to the menu with wine pairing.

The food was excellent. We'll definitely be back. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the time it took for the food to arrive.

Absolute gem of a place! Incredible food, friendly staff, relaxed and romantic atmosphere (thanks to loadshedding and the candles at the table😁) It is a bit pricy, but totally worth it! Would truly recommend a visit.
