I loved this restaurant. Some of the best tasting pancakes that I've ever had. The service was also excellent, very friendly.
Their ginger beer is definitely worth a try.
The only drawback was that their point of sale machines did not work 🤦🏿♂️ so we had to scramble for cash (no worries though)
It takes some doing to get my 15 year old excited about anything.. So when he claimed that his dark chocolate mousse pancake was the best thing he has ever eaten my heart skipped a beat! Watching him gobble down the delight is worth every star. Their hot chocolate was also nice, their plain pancake with cinnamon very filling - and possibly we just hit it on the right day but our service was excellent. Great way to start the day! (Yes he had that for breakfast :)
Not sure what all the negative reviews are on about, but my meal here was great. Good service, friendly atmosphere, and a varied menu of both sweet and savoury pancakes. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.
Pancakes were very tasty. Down side it was a blistering hot day with no sort of cooling system for where we were sitting and we had to ask for ice for our drunks as no ice was provided in them initially.
Harrie's Pancakes - a restaurant after my own heart! We were on our way home after having done the Panorama Route in Hazyview and there was no way we could drive past a pancake place without stopping. I've seen and heard so much about Harrie's Pancakes so I was pretty excited.
When we got to the restaurant, it was pretty full but we managed to get a table on the inside. After having a look at the menu, I was so undecided as there are so many fillings to choose from. I finally settled on getting the pancake with cinnamon, sugar and milk tart custard. The pancake was so light and fluffy and the filling was divine. It was a perfect combination of two things I absolutely love - pancakes and milk tart. I also had a taste of the pancake with black cherries and liqueur and the dark chocolate mousse one. Both were equally delicious.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The service was quick and it's a great place to stop by for a quick dessert!
After our adventure around the area and much walking we decided to relax at Harries pancakes. The restaurant is very busy and we waited 20 minutes for a seat due to this popularity,we waited a further 20 minutes or so for the pancakes to arrive.
The wait is worth it because you get a taste of some unique pancakes. From savoury fillings to sweet ones. The menu has variety,but for those who like it simple or perhaps don't like certain ingredients I think a option to "build your own pancake" would be ideal.
I ordered a fig and pecan nut pancake and it is definately for the sweet tooth.i loved it but would not suggest having it without ice cream or cream to dampen some of that sweetness.
The pancakes are worth the prices for the size and the fillings inside. I want more!

After a day of sighting seeing around Graskop, our last stop was the famous Harrie's pancakes. This place is really popular as there was a 15-20 minute wait for our table. Our pancakes were fluffy and delicious and I love that you can have almost anything from sweet to savory fillings. I only have a few critiques: there needs to be a host at the entrance as customers walk through the outside seating area to get to the front of the house. A seating area should be created due to the popularity of this place. My brother ordered a chocolate mousse pancake and it was more like chocolate ice cream, still frozen. They also ran out of red cuppacino and I would suggest you add Chai Latte on your menu.

Trust me, you definitely won't miss it, just look at where all the people are going and leaving from.

Great variety on the menu if you are into pancakes, enjoyed the overall service the waiters were very friendly and quick even though the place was full.
I've been to a different Harries Pankcakes before and I really didn't enjoy it. I saw the reviews for this one and so I had to try it! I was very pleasantly surprised. If you visit you must be ready to wait for any service and for your food, it's a busy restaurant so once you accept that you will have a wonderful time! Lucky for us, we had good service and the food arrived quickly! I had the chocolate mouse pancake, it was delicious! And my boyfriend had the chicken and mushroom pancake and he really enjoyed it! We had a good time, it's just the pancakes are overly expensive which is irritating.
Jan 8 breakfast: We have been to the one in Pretoria. I am not actually a big fan of pancakes. But I like the place. The outlet here is also quite big. The interiors are pre dominantly white. The traditional breakfast consisting of two fried eggs with mushrooms, tomotoes etc is good and the eggs are well made. Also had the fresh croissants with cheddar cheese and preserve. The croissant was crispy. Really good way to start your day.
Pleasantly surprised by the modern decor amongst an old tourist town. The homemade ginger beer is a must have but be aware that a large is just a regular sized glass. The pancakes are rich, buttery and large in size. If you're not a big eater I suggest sharing. Atmosphere is very global in that there are tons of tourists. Wide open windows to see outside and see what's happening on the main road of the town.

I used to frequent the one at the Waterfront regularly here in Cape Town and have no idea why they left Cape Town.

Such friendly service!!! I had the banana and cinnamon filled pancake with cream ofcourse. Divinity in the mouth😍 it's not as rich as it may sound but oh so decadent.
Service was a little slow even went the restaurant wasn't full. But the staff were very attentive and polite. The latte I had was a bit bland. The chili con carne pancake was the highlight of this place for me. It doesn't look it but it turned out to be very filling. Absolutely loved the fresh and smooth sour cream that came with it!
We had chicken liver pancakes with pepper sauce and it was, as usual, very nice an filling. A must have when you're in Graskop! Service friendly.
This spot is an institution in Graskop. A "Must Do" when in the area. Proper plunger coffee, the pancakes - no matter which one you choose - are all delicious! The salads are crisp, fresh, huge and tasty.

Harries Pancakes has a reputation, and is on almost all the tour bus routes when traveling through the little town of Graskop. The restaurant is based on the main street, and is walking distance from all the curio stalls and other novelty shops. Ithas both indoor and outdoor seating that is covered (because it rains alot). The restaurant specialises in pancakes, and a variety of different ones for that matter.
I had the cinnamon sugar, banana and caramel sauce pancake, which I found to be rather thick, and the sauce very runny. But I was also able to taste the dark chocolate mousse pancake, which was overly full with mousse and made a rather big mess, but tasted very good (and puts you on a sugar high), and the savoury mince and cheddar cheese pancake. The mince was soft and saucey, also very well seasoned. The cheese was sparringly scattered over the top (but I am also addicted to cheese, so normal portions never seem to be enough). But overall, a very lovely place to stop at. Friendly staff, and relatively fast service.
Awesome food and friendly service. The tables were a bit dirty but we were there as they opened their doors. The best place for an easy breakfast or lunch. Will be back again.
We went for breakfast early morning and arrived as they opened the doors. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My husband had a chili con carne savpry pancake while I opted for the sweet milktart filling. Pancakes was awesome! I will definitely be back if ever I come to this side of the country again.

Had the savoury mince pancake and my husband had the lemon meringue pancake. I was pleasantly surprised as I'm not really a fan of pancakes, they were fluffy and quite awesome!
Returning to the restaurant after the revamp, somewhat left me disappointed. The original 'rustic' look had a more homey, warm feel. But that's mostly nostalgia speaking. The ultra contemporary design is beautiful, but quite cold in a town that is usually overcast. This is however contrasted by delicious pancakes. We had the 'chili con carne' savoury pancake. The cheese could be grated to a finer consistency to accentuate the chili mince flavour. The plunger coffee is wonderful. Service is great.
A well designed and nicely done Pancake stop. We had the Chillie con Carne pancakes with sour cream. Very hearty with fluffy pancakes and good locally brewed coffee.
I think the attention to design actually detracts from the small-town feel.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The location is central in Graskop the place has a lovely vibe to it. Really better than expected. The savoury pancakes were delicious. I had a lovely local craft beer with some beef curry and salsa pancake, and this combo was amazing. The waffle served with syrup and icecream was the perfect follow up to my mains.

The network in the area isn't great and with loadshedding that has made their speedpoint devices not so reliable so I would suggest you bring cash. Note there is a FNB ATM within 3 Min walking distance though and this really saved me.

We stopped at Harrie's Pancakes for lunch after a full day at the Panorama Route. The food was great! We were 6 adults, eash ordered a different dish and no one was disappointed ;-)

Easy to Find , Warm Welcome , Friendly Staff , Quick Service , They dont have a Generator for Load Shedding so make sure you have cash on you , Bathrooms were disappointing. Best Pan Cakes I had in ages.

Harries Pancakes is a lovely little place in central Graskop, it was a warm and inviting place, it was very clean and well looked after. The Staff were friendly and attentive but did not hover around your table. I would of liked more variety on the menu maybe a waffle or flapjacks but I suppose it is a pancake place not a restaurant. The menu is very varied so lots of savory or sweet options. I found the Pancakes were slightly too thick and over stuffed with filling but they were still enjoyable. I recommend just a plain pancakes with ice-cream, sometimes going back to basics is the most enjoyable. The Hot Chocolate was super delicious. This is a super popular spot in Graskop and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
What a lovely afternoon stop. Comfortable and very adequate seating on the deck. Our meal was beautifully presented and exceptionally tasty.
The highlight of our meal was our lovely server Zinhle... who was beyond accomodating and even managed to arrange off menu items for us!!
I highly recommend that you stop and try Harrie's Pancakes if you're in the area.
