Great food, service not always good though, but a great vibe.

Coffee is great!!! Bit pricey but the food is good. Also service is pretty good, efficient. My bit of advice... don't have the the toffee peanut latte. The hot milky coffee flavoured peanut butter was a little nauseating... it would best be served cold. But do love the selection of salads...

Besides the food, what makes this space cosy and enjoyable is the staff. Excellent service, great atmosphere for a power lunch, brunch, or solo escape away from the hustle of the world. It has great selection of heart warming food for everyone.

Goood quality and the giant muffin too delicious

Great service. Blueberry cheesecake was delicious. Freshly baked. Loved it. Unfortunately, tap water was brown so we couldn't have that.

I enjoyed the vegan hot chocolate, though expensive in my opinion. The Vegan breakfast, avo toast, was nice. I had it on GF bread. It was a filling meal. Staff at the Grahamstown branch was very friendly.

It's a great family restaurant for a quick light meal. The service was good. The food has room for improvement.

You looking for a heathly and filling meal you grotto pop into the mug. Friendly staff and a great menu. In grahamstown there are so many choices to go have a meal but this one takes you back to home. If you from Cape Town or Johannesburg it will feel like home. Amazing blends of coffee to keep you going for the day. Criag the owner is very accomadating and want you to have a meal and company that you will enjoy. Great stories and interesting visit

They were fast and the food was delicious. It would have been 5 stars but they added too much mayo over tje food.

I find that food on the menu is overpriced. If you're one for a quiet restaurant whereby you can sit and think whilst eating, this is the restuarant for you.

The points could not be added to the Mugg&Bean app due to wifi problems which they have had for a few days. When enquired with manager if the slip could be kept for future loadingof points, he insisted this could not be done. I replied that more transparency should be ensured and clients should be informed upfront as they seat about some inconvinience and non availability of certian services.

Mugg & Bean was one of the most anticipated franchises to open its doors in Grahamstown and has been struggling to meet the same standard as other franchises in my eyes. Granted it not gourmet food. One of the biggest let downs for me is the preparation of the eggs - poached eggs are not done well here. Which is a pity. Snotty eggs or hard boiled is what you get most of the time. Don’t bother asking for them to be redone because management makes you feel so bad about moaning about their poor quality that you might as well just leave. When I’m GHT I’m of the opinion as long as it’s cooked through rather don’t moan. Anything deep fried or battered is also a no go - more often than not it comes to you super sloppy and mushy. That said their are a few items on the menu that I can have here the come out consistently meh +1 which is a nice break from eating at the other limited spots in town.

We came in for warm drinks on a cold night. Surprising, we were locked in which I noticed as we left, making us feel slightly uneasy. The drinks were good though (decadent hot chocolates are exactly that- very decadent!) and the service was good too.

I've been to this Mugg & Bean a few times since it's opened and the food seems to have gotten worse each time I go here.

Food:
The toasted chicken mayonnaise always comes cold and sometimes burnt. The choc chip flapjacks are really big so I would recommend sharing. I have also tried the shanghai bbq beef wrap which was very saucy. I normally get the bottomless lemonade which is great. I have been disappointed with the quality of food lately. The filled torta rolls are always stale. The onion rings weren't cooked and looked like cooked onions in a tomato sauce. The BBQ pulled pork torta came with tinned pineapple and basically consisted of tomato with some pork. My friends meal came with chips that looked as if they were three days old and were burnt. For the price you pay for the food I expect much better quality of ingredients and food.

Service:
The service is quite good at this Mugg and Bean and the waitresses are always friendly and helpful.

Ambience: 8/10
The restaurant is well lit and spacious.

Value for money:
Based on the quality of food here at the moment- not great!

On my way out of Grahamstown in December I decided to stop by the Mugg & Bean in Grahamstown. The restuarant is very spacious and what you would expect from a Mugg and Bean. I had the lemon meringue and a coffee... Im pleased to say that the taste is consistent with other Mugg & Beans I've been to and the coffee is great, in fact better than some of the Mugg and Beans up here in the Highveld.

I've only had coffee here twice and was really happy my first time as I love Mugg & Bean coffee but was horribly disappointed today. My large cappuccino tasted like a single shot with warm milk and there wasn't even foam. Not a good start when you are known for your coffee :(

Finally, a Mugg and Bean in Grahamstown🔥🙌🏼. The service was okayish. The waiter was quite friendly, the manager although failed to come welcome us and check if we were doing fine (she'd gone to all the other tables 😏). My peach ice tea was refreshing and came in a good portion. 👏🏽🌞I had the herb mushroom torta sandwich and my friend had the pork one. The food was delicious and we'd def be back for more 💥👀👌🏼. Time for dessert , I ordered the Ugandan coffee (really good and strong , and it's bottomless)😍 and we had chocolate chip muffins (impossible to finish). Overall, I think just the service could of been better , but a great experience non the less👌🏼👏🏽🎈
