The Provost Cafe - Grahamstown - Photo album

Beautiful, tranquil place to eat despite being set in an old prison, loved the old buildings and prison rooms converted to dining rooms. We had choice of any of the prison rooms and each were tastefully decorated. Ordered some sandwiches which were fairly good.
Always a pleasure seeing how this little place flourishes.. a staple visit every time I'm in Grahamstown.
Sweet little place with some interesting, unusual options and good sun and shade seating. Their carrot cake cream cheese frosting is bliss.
It's definitely a good place to enjoy your meal, and the food is very good, especially the beef and cheese burger, and the pork and chicken swarma
Even the fries here slap hard. Make sure to try the white hot chocolate. A good place to sit, chat and eat with privacy and light contemplation. Would recommend it.
Former prison turned into a coffee shop. Really good stop after a morning walk the swings are relaxing make a stop when you in the area.
It's my 2nd visit, & hands down my favourite stop in G-town. You can either dine in a renovated prison cell or out on the lawn next to the botanical gardens (recommended for a beautiful sunny day). Quite surreal to have coffee in a converted prison. But the most quaint establishment and delicious baked treats
You have to be a student to use their wifi.
Funky place in a lovingly restored and decorated historical prison building. A great place to meet a friend or colleague for a coffee. Friendly staff and tasty freshly made food, if a little on the pricey side. The coffee is good (but not the best in town).
