Went to Spur on Saturday morning the 11th of November 10 of us. One waiter. It was the best service I have ever experienced at this chain of restaurants professional everything was as we ordered our waiter David was on top of offering drinks coffee take away boxes the works. These guys get very busy and I have not always liked it here but their staff are on the up I must say. David thank you for hosting us as well as you did the Spur N1 City are lucky to have you.
Such a great spur... My boyfriends steak was a bit raw and we asked the waiter to just grill it a bit more... And the manager came back with a new full plate of food... Thank you once again... Got great service last night!
Before i was not happy about service at N1 Spur, but yesterday i was surprised....even though it was very busy and we had to wait a little longer for our food, the waiter was really professional and our food was super hot when we got it...
As a reguler we have 1 waitress to serve us. She is very profesional and always polite. The managers are also on the ball. Our food are always up to standard and nice hot food. We can not wait to visit Texas Spur and go there at least 3 times a week. Keep up the good work. 10 out of 10 for you guys.
It's always a good idea to experience to go to Spur, because I have children, and I thus it's always a win-win. I my kids have a nice meal and a fun time 👍🏾
Hi guys it’s me again had a late night supper with my boyfriend and by far your steak was the best from the other spurs that I have been to. Had a couple of drinks and dessert was thee best.
Nice size branch with ample seating for our group of 10. The steaks we all had were done to perfection and were thoroughly enjoyed! Chilled service and family friendly vibe.
Good overall experience.Kids area is clean and tidy.I think there should be a age limit for kids playing on the equipment as the bigger kids dominate the smaller ones.Food was good.Starter calamari and wings were a hit.Burgers were excellent.Blessing was our waitron and he was really good.Friendly, efficient and very attentive.
This morning’s breakfast was one of the better Spur breakfasts I’ve had. The service was fast and friendly, and the food wasn’t greasy. The mushrooms were still too oily for my liking, but the plate was devoid of the grease pool usually accompanying Spur breakfasts.
As a Welgelegen resident, I would gladly skip Chinook Spur around the corner and travel the extra distance to Texas Spur N1 City.
Went out for supper with my girlfriend tonight. We ordered the garlic roll to start off with, the edges a bit dry but other wise super tasty. The burger tasted like that was the only patty on the grill! If your looking for a good experience at spur...Tuesdays and Sundays are great days to go and enjoy a nice vibe, good service and eat tasty meaty burgers!! Should work on the coffee...the cappuccino was terrible. Thats why i only rated 4
Love the new menu. Keep it up, cheesy mustard steak is the bomb. Finally feels like a steak house :) happy to see the pecan nut sundae is back !!
Excellent 2-for-1 burgers special mondays, made even better by the excellent service by Manager JP!
Mum & I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Juicy burgers and crunchy onion rings just the way I like it!
Thank you Team Texas Spur for an enjoyable experience.
Amanda, our waitron, has her finger on her customer's pulses. She has an awesome memory, serving different clients at the same time, not mixing up any order. Our meal was scrumptious, served on preferable hot plates. Then loadshedding unexpectedly happened. As part of our meal still had to be served, she approached the manager, Michael, who came to verify that the total cost of the meal would be reduced as the desert could not be served. She really had the situation under control and used not only expertise, but also initiative which resulted in a win win situation for both the outlet and us as cutomers. We were not the only ones. The place was crowded. We'll done.
This Spur ranch is worthy of my 5 stars and time writing this review. You will not go wrong visiting Texus Spur Steak Ranch N1. Being greeted by all the waiters at the door was so welcoming. They took special care to look after my 2 boys with breakfast and friendly staff in the play area. What pleases me is the size of this branch. And I wasn't ushered into a cramped up space. My waiter looked for a suitable spot close to the warm kitchen and play area. The condiments were all straight, filled and clean...and full of our favorite Spur sauce. He took our order and despite being busy, the breakfast was warm and ready in under 7minutes. We had a visit from the manager as well who got us wipes on a plate... (on a plate)... I've had mine hand delivered by other so called 5star establishments so... Half way through the waiter checked up on us which I appreciated. When the boys meals were done, the table looked like I had more that 10 seated and a second manager chuckled and called it a creative statement. I for one, will definitely be back. You made us feel at home.
Good service great price never too full , Manger is attentive to customers. Really nicely run franchise. Also not halaal so if you want to indulge in a glass of wine or Don Pedro you can,
Always have a good visit at this Spur atmosphere really good, I think consistency is their strong point, will drive out of my way to visit this franchise.
I went a week back for breakfast.
My friend had the breakfast special and ordered a side of onion rings. Which enjoyed quite considerably. The eggs were done nicely and the bacon.
I chose a healthier option and got avocado on toast. The toast was a bit too soft and but underwhelming. It hunk a better bread could be used and the presentation could have been better.
The service was good and the food came out quickly which was great
I ordered the chicken schnitzel with prawn sauce and chips, and I must say I felt sick later the evening. I will definitely not eat that meal again.
I always order the chicken wings, and I wanted to try something different, but so disappointing.
I would love to say thank you to Bantu our waiter today at spur, he is such an awesome person I njoyed every moment being there he is the life of spur Texas, keep it up Bantu don't ever let your spark burn out you an awesome waiter my family and myself njoyed the food and the outstanding service that you provided us I would give u 10 stars 🌟if I could
Much love and appreciation
Food was quality and fresh. However the service was a bit slow that day. Not many people just seemed under staffed. But other than that was really good.
It is well placed, just outside the cinema, so really convinient when waiting for a movie to start.
It's my first time coming to the N1 city branch and I really enjoyed the food and thumbs up to our waiter Xollani for the Great service I'm definitely coming here again
Asanele our waitron was a superstar, young, enthusiastic and full of energy, so I came back today on the Spur of the moment, Asanele recognized me, same smile and impeccable service. Of course I will be back.
Nice and good food. Only problem is that they sing and dance the whole time and not the best place to go to if you want to have a good conversation because every 10 seconds they burst out dancing and singing the loudest. That not nice.
I try to visit the Spur when ever I travel to South Africa (Cape Town), especially the N1 centre. The service is fantastic and the portion size is amazing.... but the most important fact about this chain is the food is fantastic as it comes .... no need to disguise it with chilli sauce or any other condiment...
Is it better than Nando's ...... most definitely.
I would however not deviate from the N1...
Good luck and enjoy 😉
As an ex - restuaranteer with 5 star experience, I've always struggled with the fact that there are barely any family friendly eateries where on can expect to receive very good, let alone excellent service.
Food is almost always guaranteed to be no better than 'okay.' Good at best.
A Truly Good experience encompasses Service, Food and Ambiance.
A very important early family supper before a big, sad event with limited time, was an absolute disaster. My medium rare steak arrived on a PIPING hot skillet.
There was no warning for the customer. The, "Please be careful, it's hot," was not delivered. Not that I had to be warned.
I waited for, at the very least, 15 minutes for my sauce to arrive, and by the time I'd cut it open it was medium-well.
The service was absolutely appalling! I stood up for at least 10 minutes, every 15 minutes or so, to find a waiter that was willing to pass on a message to my waiter.
Utensils weren't delivered despite numerous requests. The arrival of our food was staggered without being requested. We did not have a waiter to offer us a 2nd round of drinks or dessert.
I managed to order an awful plain waffle for my son via a Trainee. No-one checked whether we were enjoying our meal. And more...
Of course I got up to find and inform our waiter about my steak, which had arrived medium. She never once said please or thank you, nor did she acknowledge us when we spoke. I eventually found a manager.
This experience was the Most Shocking of All!
The manager was very rude. I repeatedly explained and eventually received a replacement steak that was not cooked to death, but not after being told that it was My fault, and that it was common sense that a 'hot skillet' was 'hot.'
The Worst was having to endure 15 minutes of this manager explaining to me that a steak cooks on a hot skillet and ensuring I understand this without allowing me the opportunity to speak.
I served the mystery guest who bestowed the 5 star rating on the Cape Grace Hotel - I think I know how a steak is cooked. I learnt it 29 years ago when I worked at the Spur in the old Centre Point Mall in Milnerton.
As someone who's worked in the industry I always find it hard to not critique a restaurant with the Sincere Hope that the the next experience for myself, Would Be Better.
I always intend to give a restaurant at least 2 opportunities to secure my patronage,
Well Done Texas Spur!
Well Done to a Particular Manager by the name of Armand!
What a Gem of Manager! He definitely has what it takes to run His Very Own Restaurant.
With my friend, as usual set on posting on Hello Peter and Never venturing back, I decided to Try to speak to the manager at reception in an attempt to at least Try to ensure that other diners would not have a similar experience.
I did Not have to Try with Armand!
I requested whether I could give him some constructive criticism, and he his response was, "Please Do."
He was very friendly, not breaking eye contact despite other patrons and staff crowding around us. He sincerely apologized and Requested My number.
I did not expect him to call me a few days later, Humbly Apologizing and offering me a replacement steak.
Nor did I EVER Expect that he would inform me that BOTH their Grillers And Waiters would be undergoing Training!
I went back and had the Most Amazing Experience Celebrating my dad's 75th Birthday in November 2022. My son, a Frequent Flyer at Spur since the age of 2, commented that "This is The Best Burger Ever!"
He has been practicing His Special Order of a Spur Burger with Absolutely NO Garnish and extra basting, for years.
The Service was Impeccable! As I told Armand, my son had for the first time decided we'd go around the table and rate our food! My steak was 4.5 stars. His was 5, as was My Dad's.
And what can I say?
Our local Spur no longer gets our weekly Spur patronage. I KNOW that when Armand is there it Will be a 4.5 star Experience!
And when he's off? A 4 Star at least.
Well Done Armand!
And We'll Done Texas Spur!
Well see you again on Saturday! 😊
Took my parents out for breakfast. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Everything was good. Decided to get half waffle as well.
