Nice restaurant with nice food . The setting is nice but the area can get quite windy .
The wine-doolhof dark lady pinotage is uniquely rich and complex from the local grapes only grown in Cape Town area. The seafood platter. All local fish, calamari, prawns, black mussels. Sole, kingklip with garlic and lemon butter sauce, is amazing! The best are calamari and fish in the platter 🍖the mussels are a bit dry. But the whole thing is really worth it. The server, Liam, is super with his knowledge and superb service, make it a perfect experience for my very first meal in South Africa! Thanks 🙏 so much Dixie!
My first time at Dixies and I will return. I had a lovely experience. My waiter Marshall was very attentive and recommended the steak which I ordered. The rump was fantastic and cooked perfectly to my requested medium rare.
Dixies has a range of seating, outside, inside, tables, booths with many having a great view of the sea.
Always enjoy the food, excellent flavor and taste. The lamb curry was phenomenal.
They do a mean steak special at a fantastic price and have beer on tap. The pizza is also proper food fired. Need I say more. Staff are friendly and efficient. Highly recommend. Special thanks to Tristan our waiter.
Went for Sunday Roast. Well priced. Great food. Excellent service. Superb organisation of "first sitting & second sitting". The whole menu is tasty. But the Sunday roast is excellent value for money.
New " under cover" seating with glass doors. Great for when the Cape Doctor comes to visit.
Still a stretch of "open" seating under umbrella's. Impeccable unobstructed sea views.

Great food, although the wait was long. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Amazing to look out and see whales in the water, so the whole restaurant was just running out and taking photographs. Therefore waiting was not a problem… highly recommend for a nice steak!
Myself and my wife had such a relaxing and enjoyable evening, not rushed, had time to look at the menu, was our first time, ordered seafood pizza, was amazing, service was very good pricing also very reasonable and a great view of the sea, perfect!
Food was great and the view of the sea and the mountain behind the restaurant makes it worth it so much more.
The food is very old school with their food and drinks. It would be great if they could add additional items to their drinks menu such as sugar free soft drinks and cordials and also lactose intolerant and gluten free milks such as almond, oats and rice milk.
Looking forward to seeing the new items on the menu.

Located on outskirts of Simonstad, smack across the ocean. Ample parking, with various seating options. Wife and kids raved about their pizzas.

Dixies for breakfast and lunch, and I have to say, both meals were great! The breakfast was cooked to perfection and the pizza for lunch was deliciously flavorful. The service was great as well, making for an overall fantastic dining experience.
During our last stop in Kaapstad, we visited Dixies 3 times for having dinner with our kids.
We didn't know the place before, but we were really fortunate having found this outstanding restaurant.
Overall, there is absolutely nothing to complain about, it was a pleasure every single time.
Not only the meals were of outstanding quality and taste, but also did I get to enjoy one of the best flat white coffees in the late afternoon.
Every staff member was very friendly and not a single order went wrong (referring to some other ratings I read here).
For our next time in Kaapstad, this location is noted, for sure.

Highly recommend the fillet steak here. Great quality and after going pretty regularly with the family over the last few months we haven’t waited more than 15-20 mins for our order. Staff are friendly and efficient. Definitely book for Sunday lunch because they get very busy (I must say I was impressed with how quickly I got my order despite the restaurant being packed). If I had one critique it would be that the bar area is a smoking section and it wafts into the main restaurant, so if you don’t want to smell like cigarettes, definitely sit outside.
