Review Kafe Serefe - George

A George jewel and after the make over we had to visit. We didn’t expect anything less. The attentive staff, warm generous food, coupled with taste makes this place one of the best restaurants in George. The prices are competitive and if you have been here before you know that it’s reputation compliments it’s popularity. Well done to the owners and staff. We appreciate it! Side note: took a takeaways for family at home too and the quality was consistent with dining in.

I really enjoyed the food and the ambience. I ordered a pork steak...can't remember exactly the name used on the menu but it was nice. My two friends also enjoyed their meals. It's value for money. There was a belly dancer on the day who was entertaining patrons. It was ok but I found the music too loud at times we could hardly hear each other

Good welcoming as you enter the Restaurant, it is a Turkish themed diner and has lots of seating. Service was quick and the staff were very helpful and friendly. After placing our drinks and food order, you are given a snack of Pink Turkish Delight to enjoy while they bring your drinks to the table. There is a short wait till you receive your meal, we ordered the Special of the day - a 750g Rack of Spare Ribs - and it has a serving of chips with it and a small salad. The meal was great and total value for money. Descent chunky ribs with great warm chips that were crispy, total winner. Very highly recommend to all current and future customers, we will definitely be back in the future. Come support the restaurants during these tough times. To the Management and Workers Team - you definitely have a winning combination, and what makes it even a better experience is the value for money.

What a lovely experience. Kafe Serefe has recently been refurbished, and what a pleasant surprise - it is now open, light and spacious! The food (we had sirloin steak, salad and chips) was done to perfection and the service was also excellent.

We had a super evening as a party of 8. No complaints at all. Recent renovations have lightened the interior and the bathrooms are much improved. Highly recommend.

Visited family in George. Had lunch at Kafe Serefe. Was impressed, so i went back a couple of days later. Good & quick service. One of the best spare ribs that i have had. Definitely recommended to any one that has not eaten there yet.

Lovely service, absolutely delicious food and drink (their irish coffee is outstanding) and a real dedication to making the experience pleasant and authentic.

Went for the Thursday night Ribs special and we were not disappointed. The best in town!

Gorgeous atmosphere and we had excellent service - plus, the portions are huge! This is an amazing spot to experience delicious Turkish food with a South African twist.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner with the family. The restuarant gives a different experience, and the food is memorable. A must go. I missed their famous spare ribs which they only serve on Thursdays, but I will be back to try it out.

Not very happy today! Travelled to George from Knysna and tried to buy meat at your butchery - NO pork chops with the rind on! No Picanha available only on complaining to the butchery manager did he say he would sort one out - TOO LATE - I had already put the meat that I was going to purchase back in the fridge and walked out! NOT GOOD ENOUGH! You might have the monopoly in the area, but if this attitude and inefficiency continues perhaps you won't have!

Best meat in town

Disappointed at the menu which had a very limited Turkish selection. I chose a Portuguese chicken off the lunch menu. Other choices were popular German dishes and grills. The portion size of my dish was hopelessly too big. Service was slow.

My wife and I both celebrated our birthdays here. The affordable food is great and fairly authentic Turkish... The portions will satisfy a lion's appetite. Don't leave without the dessert for 4... The Turkish Coffee is sweet and amazing. Made with Baruchs coffee.<br/><br/>

"Salad" consisting of five rocket leaves, a cherry tomato cut in half, and three carrot shavings. Overcooked frozen veg and unseasoned couscous.

If you like Turkish cuisine you are in for a treat, be sure to book ahead of time though as they are almost always full. Wonderful food, atmosphere and service.

Amazing Turkish restaurant with an atmosphere to match. The food all round was sublime and the service was friendly and quick even though they were fully booked. Will certainly be visiting again on another visit to George.

Booking is essential and its easy to see why. There is an amazing atmosphere and the food is divine. When you arrive at your table you get greeted with rose water for your hands and freshly made Turkish Delight. And it only gets better from there. Will definitely be back.

Amazing little Turkish restaurant. As usual I do not book. Luckily this is another little place that knows how to make a plan as from what I have heard afterwards from locals it is impossible to to get in especially over season...They recommend at least a week in advance. Well I can see why. Amazing Turkish style dishes. I opted for their Lamb platter which was perfectly cooked. My girlfriend had their vegetarian platter...even myself as a meat eater enjoyed it :) Service and ambiance was great. It is a little hidden gem and it comes highly recommended.

Don't go there! <br/>A) this town George has nothing to offer that could entertain you for longer than 5 minutes (besides a mall but hey that you get everywhere). <br/>B) this restaurant is unable to accommodate you even at an evening during the week in off season time. We went there around 5pm to get something to eat, but they told us they only open at 6 (that information was nowhere to be found) and then they told us that they were fully booked and aren't even able to make a reservation for later. <br/>I can't say anything about the food but they should work on their customer communication skills.

Amazing place! Super friendly staff, delicious food, great prices. We tried some new food with an eclectic 3 course meal and every piece was superb. I will always visit this place when in George!

The restaurant has a great cosy atmosphere and features live belly dancing on Wednesday nights. <br/><br/>They are known for their delicious beef and lamb dishes - meat sourced by the Van Rensburg's butchery downstairs. Give their traditional roast leg of lamb a try.
