Franschhoek has a glossy side that all the tourists come to see but then their is a secret world hiding in plain site that only the locals know about. And I think Taki's is their godfather. Walking down the main road, all you see is the unassuming stoep with people having a drink. But if you step inside, their is a whole different world of generous people waiting to welcome you in. All the shops had music blaring but none at Taki's, their buzz came from people sharing stories and laughs. Who knows, next time I might actually have something to eat as well.

Casual and unpretentious dining with friendly staff and a good variety of pub food, some with a Greek influence.

We had a lovely time at Taki's. The food was good and the prices were very reasonable. Thank you to our waitress Catherine for her friendly service. Our experience would have been perfect if tje manager acknowledged us on our way out. He seemed to be to busy on his phone.

The waitresses were super friendly and efficient. My partner and I had drinks and a pizza. The pizza was superb and delicious. Prices are cost effective on food and drinks. I highly recommend an hour or two here. Cheers!!!

Highly recommended! We had the most delicious lamb shanks!!! The owner, owners son and personnel are all very friendly, professional and caring. Thank you for a lovely evening! We'll be back!

I enjoy this place because it is not "touristy". Feels like a local pub, but do not quote me on that, I am not from this town. The menu is rather impressive, the food is delicious and the beers are cold, what else do you want? The service was great and the people friendly, they even accommodated a special request with the food. I am most definitely going back.

This is a really homey place right on the Franshoek main street. It has seating right at the entrance of the restaurant looking out at the street, a bar inside with additional tables and a beer garden type seating arrangement towards the back in another outside area. I recommend getting a table at the front of the restaurant, it is excellent for people watching. I also highly recommend their pizzas, you get a lot for what you paid for and they are delicious. Also great coffee and Greek style food.

The best Pizza and Fish & Chips on Franschoek.

Great local place, nice food and very good service. Lovely atmosphere. An extra big + is the fact that they have tap water on the menu which is much better for the environment compared to bottles water, so more restaurants should have this in my opinion.

We are so done with the red stuff right now. Not the wine, but the overarching theme of blood-dripping meatmeatmeat with an occasional slice of tomato has us craving absolutely anything else.Β . We start with the Vegetable Spring Rolls, emphasis on the vegetable. Lightly fried, a lot of packaging for a few shreds of carrots and cabbage with a bit of sweet chili sauce, but we are ripping into those shreds like a hyena making a kill.

Went out one evening for dinner and chose this place as it looked interesting. Staff was friendly and although the place has a bar it was still a nice relaxed vibe. Food took long so it forced us to order another round of drinks. The pork schnitzel was a bit dry.

We ordered a pizza and snitzels for lunch however the food was average nothing really special about it. Waiters was friendly when taking the order but a bit non existent and stood at entrance like statues which made the experience a bit earie. To top of lunch the restaurant was fly infested and we had to keep waving our hands to get rid of them, most disappointing part of this was the waiters just stood by and watched as we fought off the flies. Will be skipping this restaurant in the future...would have been better just buying fast food take aways...

Absolutely disgusting. At 9:28 with zero patrons in site, in the cutest, friendliest little town I was told I was not allowed to use the restroom and that I can take my attitude somewhere else. What seems to be the manager interrupted everything I said while snarling vulgarities as I walked away. Completely unnecessary and disappointing.

This is Franschhoek's hidden little gem. Forget those other pubs who try to impress with their overly priced dishes that lack flavor (and hospitality).

Taki's is good food served in a vibey atmosphere. Sure, it is a family friendly pub. But it is far above the rest. The owner is a delight and always comes to greet our table. He is so sweet. I've only been there twice and never experienced better service in my life. Our waiter remembered what wine I liked! 🍷 Quite impressive.

I've eaten their pizza and their seafood basket πŸ•πŸ€ -loved both meals and finished everything on my plate. Recommend this place for a bite to eat. It is great value for money, especially when you don't feel like paying fine dining prices.

I don't usually go to restaurant's that include a pub but nevertheless, I tried Takis out as my boyfriend and I were both starving and happened to walk past at the right time.

Was a bit skeptical at first, as I feared we might wait long since there was only one waitress serving at the time. But the service was surprisingly good considering the restaurant was quite full. Decided to go with safe options on the menu. Ordered a burger and my boyfriend had a pizza, along with dessert after you share. Both mains were done perfectly.

I was also a big fan of the cosy set up. Was quite a cold day and the warm fire going in the background had us staying longer than expected.
R65 for a plate of chips is ridiculous. It's not worth eating here. It's not even that great of a place. Rather go somewhere else. You will get more for your money.

Don't be fooled by the simple, bar-like decor. Although much of the trade done here is from the bar, the restaurant itself is warm and friendly, and the food is surprisingly good. No frills, just a good, hearty meal and although the service isn't the fastest, the staff are all so friendly and accommodating that it really didn't bother me.

Great atmosphere. Draught beer & local wines. Fantastic food. Don't go if you want fast foods. Mandy & Catherine rock as waitresses. Local is Lekker πŸ˜€

I went there today with my husband and daughter. The food didn't take long to arrive and absolutely enjoyed it. I ordered the sirloin, steak was done perfect. My husband wasn't hungry and ordered the chicken strips because it was on the menu as a light meal. He thought he was going to get a few strips but got a plate full. The interior is not appealing but the food is great. I'd rather come here than Col cachio which is not worth it.

My family and I ordered four pizzas and a moussaka as take-aways. Three of the pizzas and the moussaka arrived in decent time, and we were told that the fourth was in the oven and almost ready. In fact, we had to wait a further half an hour for the fourth pizza to arrive. I don't know what happened in the kitchen - there was probably a mistake but no one told us anything about it. Besides the pizza being very average - the manager kept on lying about how long the last pizza would take. "It's almost out" was followed by a 20 minute wait. Then "they're just cutting the pizza" followed by a further 10 minute wait.

The others enjoyed their pizza, I think it was shocking how long we had to wait and that nobody seemed to care or care enough to at least apologise.
