Review Chefs Warehouse At Maison - Franschhoek

This is one of most amazing food experiences of my life. Beautiful ambiance overlooking park like greens that transition into local vineyards. Chef and staff explain each course in detail. Numerous small exquisite servings delicately presented. Each bite was amazing. You must experience this place if you can!

Enjoyed the 4 course tapas tasting. It was a savory experience despite the fact that I was heavily inebriated by the time I got there; after I finished a 6 vineyard wine tasting tour in the surrounding area. My favorites were the curry masala dish, a salmon dish, as well as the skirt steak. Whatever fish I had in the video was very fresh as well. The food is a delectable art show. My only gripe is they don’t take Amex. If this establishment accepts Amex, customers won’t have to experience foreign transaction fees and also they get points. I don’t see why they wouldn’t accept this. I’m sure any cost to them as a merchant is marginal at best. And from the looks of things, they seem to be doing very well. I took off a point for that as it came off as an inconvenience. Otherwise the food is an amazing experience.

A very welcoming beautiful venue. The staff are very lovely and the food was incredible, I had the food paired with the maison wine selection and all was amazing. Well done !!

Thoroughly enjoyable night. That time you want to try high end cuisine then the Chefs Warehouse is definitely the place to do it. Prices very good and a wonderful experience

PURE JOY. Got lunch at Maison knowing food was being managed by Chefs Warehouse so was expecting high lever tapas. Was not disappointed at all. Price is quite high but you pay for quality and beautiful flavours. The Tapas for 2 option was a great one. Congrats to the chef. House wines are also very good, especially the Chardonnay 😋. Service was perfect - professional and friendly. Felt very good. The venue itself is modern but not too much. Chic countryside vibe I would say. If you go there in summer, book your seats by one of those big tables outside. Will def come back!

I didn't know what to expect here, but we were very pleased. It was a tapa's for two menu with optional appetizers and dessert. Everything was incredible. Allow for 2-3 hours for a very relaxing and decadent experience.

Favorite restaurant in the entire world. Not only the food is excellent but also... the atmosphere... Having lunch under these massive and beautiful trees, right by their vineyard and surrounded with farm animals. I keep on coming back and bring my family from France and friends along. Without a doubt my favorite address in South Africa.

Best culinary experience of 2022. Although it's still early in the year, I think it's going to be difficult to beat taking into consideration the price, portion, service and environment. Chef visited our table for our last course and was very warm and welcoming. Amazing experience and setting at Chef's Warehouse. Food and wine was unreal! Wish I could do it all over again!

By far my favourite restaurant in Franschhoek. In fact, not just Franschhoek. A rural and rustic backdrop for a fine-dining menu is the perfect combination. Nothing pompous or pretentious about this restaurant. The tapas option is a perfect choice, with an added starter. The waiting staff were phenomenal. Never hovering, but somehow always there when you needed them. Thank you🌹

A lovely lunch on an almost sunny day. We sat outside. The menu was interesting and delicious. They have a interesting wine list depicting the winelands around. Dog-friendly! Our dog was warmly welcomed. Please be aware that there are free roaming chickens and a potbelly pig. The staff were efficient, fun and friendly.

This restaurant was excellent! The dishes were inspired by Japanese food, so finally, I was able to eat sashimi in SA. I'm sooo happy.

Food is perfectly crafted and well-thought-out using fresh local ingredients, simple and delicious. Backyard is spacious and peaceful.

Wow, this place is a hidden gem! We had the best food in 3 weeks South Africa! First of all we came for dinner without reservation, but the chef made space for us in the beautiful garden; so we felt very welcoming! The place is beautiful, inside very stylish and outside beautiful with a big tree and view to the vineyards and mountains, where you have a nice sunset. The service was very attentive and friendly. But the best was definitely the food! We had 6 courses in total and every dish was fantastic! I was so happy when they gave me a vegetarian and vegan menu, so I had all dishes vegan and I was positively surprised - everything was super delicious! My favorite was the vegan truffle risotto! Our wines were very tasty as well. Compared to European prices, we paid maybe one third of what we would back home. We recommend everyone to go there! Thanks to the whole team for the unforgettable evening!

Good tapas-style fine-dining experience in a beautiful setting. Not quite at the level of some of the restaurant in the region – at least not that evening (our pork belly was not as tender and juicy as it could have been) – but still very very good, and a lot more relaxed and unpretentious than many other places. Work your way through the menu and enjoy the beaufiful garden! It‘s worth it.

Delightfully relaxed set-up and great to be able to have our toddler roam around the garden looking at the chicks and chickens. Service and food was good HOWEVER the food came out painfully slow. With tapas / ‘small plates’ places it’s common to moan that the dishes come out too quickly. At CW @ Maison they came out unbearably slow. I’m not sure if the pace was normal or whether the chefs were not being communicated to but our lunch ended up being 3hrs long which seemed a bit unnecessary.

This is a beautiful place to have a long, delicious meal. Definitely make a reservation in advance! You can order a la carte, but the 8-course option for 2 is amazing and provides a ton of food for the price. We came for lunch, and enjoyed many glasses of wine on a gorgeous day. While this isn't a huge vineyard, it is a more intimate-setting, and I can't express how good the food was.
