Review Pellegrino Toscano - Fourways

What a nice quaint restaurant. i believe this restaurant is a hidden jewel and will definitely see me more during the week. For a regular week evening the mood and atmosphere is very relaxed and helps to release the stress from the day. The coffee and services is great and the food divine. I would really suggest a visit to this restaurant to experience this for yourself.

Our first time coming for the buffet breakfast. The best whipped cream I've ever tasted and I've tasted a lot. The servers are courteous and helpful. The food is very good especially their pizza and pastries. Good job Team!

Fabulous Italian restaurant. Beautiful decor, it makes you feel like you are in Italy. The food is great and the service matches. In summer you can sit on the veranda and watch the beautiful sunsets as we only find in South Africa. Highly recommended

Tasty Toscana. Good service, good food, good atmosphere. Worth a try and we'll be back. A Tuesday night out with a group of friends, so not that busy, relaxed vibe, great conversation and attentive service from Samson our waiter. I tried their Spaghetti Al Frutti Di Mare (seafood), which I simply cannot pass by at any good Italian restaurant. Well, it did not disappoint - good portions of mussels, prawns, clams and calamari. Give it a try !

The place boasts beautiful views of Johannesburg and a lovely Italian menu. The pizzas are woodfired and just perfect. I have been here many times and I am yet to find something on the menu that is not amazing. I had the lamb shank and the oxtail mains and they are flavourful and delicious. The pastas are also fantastic. Try the biacuit cake and the salted caramel ice cream for dessert.

Nice set up, wonderful and efficient service. Food was very good generally and everyone else approved, I personally was not a fan of the steak, a bit dry. Good pricing and strong Covid protocols. There's also a weekend Breakfast buffet. Overall, a good experience, will return soon.

Firstly they make the best pizzas in Johannesburg. (better value and cheaper than most take away places in Johannesburg) Secondly they Pollo Invilotini is to die for. The only problem is they took away the Olive Tapanarde, that was their signature. (Please bring it back!

CARBONARA?
When pointed to the wrong, he Apologised & offered to re do.
The new plate: Extremely dry linguine, literally nothing but dry dry linguine with few pieces of BACON- definitely UNDOUBTEDLY NOT PANCETTA
Would not SUPPORT PELLEGRINO, NO EXCUSE . EMPTY DINNER & STILL POOR SERVICE, TERRIBLE FOOD

I went to the restaurant on two different occasions. Both times the service was great and the food as delicious. Their pasta dishes are amazing. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his cannelloni and I enjoyed their risotto. Will definitely be back more!

This place is incredible. Wonderful atmosphere. Delicious food. Fantastic staff. Brilliant service. Incredible prices. Will keep going back there. The one photo of avo and scrambled egg was a special order made for my 8 month old baby. The staff bend over backwards there and you get 5 star treatment. And the food is just so delicious. I would have given 6 stars if I could. Well done to this restaurant.

What a disappointing experience. The restaurant is in a good spot and offers beautiful sunset views of the north of Joburg. Unfortunately the food is below standard and disappointing. The service was also average. Definitely staying away.
Had napoletana pasta, garlic focaccia and tiramisu. The tiramisu was delicious, one of the best I’ve had. The focaccia was cooked perfectly for me. The main issue and it’s a big one, was the napoletana pasta. I found a piece of meat in it. I don’t know how this contamination happened, but if you are vegetarian, you would probably want to avoid this place. It seems a lot of restaurants fall very flat in the pasta department and don’t really put much effort into making it.

Good service, good food however, presentation /plating could have been better. I would definitely return but not for a special occasion. Overall, Great ambience.

Absolutely love going here. We've never had a bad meal or experience. You can see that management have really put the time in to properly train all the staff, which is uncommon! The food is always phenomenal and very generous portion sizes. Great for a quick bite or a relaxed romantic evening. The seafood pasta is to die for!

Just ordered their Pescatora Pizza (seafood), they charge a premium for this pizza. This pizza comprises of Calamari, mussels, prawns and clam meat. There were shell fragments littered all over the pizza, every bite required me taking hard pieces out, the clam meat contained grit (sand), so each chew had the potential to chip my teeth. The price you pay for this, you expect so much more. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great atmosphere! Ate great pasta and pizza while watching the sunset. Definitely will be back. Big plus was also how affordable it was. Great!

Went for year end lunch Sat outside on a blisteringly hot Friday afternoon Great view of Johannesburg but mist sprinklers ineffective
Stiflingly hot
Ordered chicken livers as starter and kingklip as main Food was tasty and good presentation
Ice cream desserts were top class - pistachio a winner
Alas getting the bill took forever and equally interminable wait for credit card machine
Pity spoilt a good afternoon

I have visited this restaurant under its previous brand - same owners - for the last ten years including now and have yet to be disappointed. Rebranding the restaurant freshened it up but the quality has always and still is consistently good. Excellent and friendly service, great food and just down the road.

Pleasantly surprised, decided to have dinner here before a movie. The spaciousness of the place is nice with intimate booths, patio and inside seating. The menu has loads of options over and above the regular pizza/pasta. Good wine and cocktail selection as well.

We ordered the al funghi bruschetta, followed by the gorgonzola gnocchi and arribiatta pasta. Loved the chilli in the arribiatta, we did request extra and it was delicious, I added some to the gnocchi dish. The gnocchi was light and fluffy, definitely one of the better gnocchi I've had. Simple food, simple flavours, done well. Service is great and I will definitely be back.

Celebrated a family members birthday party here. The waitrons were extremely accomodating and helpful and went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. Great service.
The food was satisfactory and filling. Good portion sizes.

Overall not a bad pizza joint. I cannot really comment on either the establishment and the service as we opted for delivery.

We ordered the pollo and manzo pizza, with some extra parmesan shavings on the pollo. First things first, the base is nice and thin, with a good amount of char that provides that smokey taste, i would probably say that the base is just just to thin, but that is my personal taste.

The ingredients where fresh and of really good quality, and the extras topping list was exhaustive. So all and all, not a bad spot to try when you are in the mood for Wood fired pizza, and you want to try a new place

One major highlight is the that the level of service received was excellent.Italian sausage pasta was very tasty and satisfying.Risotto was good but not the best.

After wanting to try out the buffet breakfast for a few weeks now, we finally had the opportunity to do so. For R85 there is an array of both continental and full English breakfast dishes. Yoghurts, fruit, seeds, cold cuts, breakfast meats including bacon, sausgaes and mince, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, eggs and pastries were all fresh and excellently prepared.

This might just be my favorite place in Johannesburg. Everything I’ve tried there is amazing ; the focaccia, the pizza and the gelato , the gelato takes the cup,it has to be the best gelato in the city.
The Schoeman Brothers
This place serves some of the most amazing pasta and pizza around. The bacon and avocado pizza was thin and crispy and the polpette was delicious with the meatballs. Wonderful restaurant with a calm environment but unfortunately it is underrated. Recommend it.

Visited early on a Monday night so a bit quiet. Mentioned in passing to the lady seating us that we were celebrating a birthday and would like a table with a view if possible. Food was delicious and fresh - Calamari starter and the Minestrone soup was best we've had for ages! Melanzane was so delicious (and quite a good portion size for a starter). Also had peri peri chicken which was very good. Our waiter Samuel was very attentive! Thank you for the slice of cheese cake for the birthday boy - special touch! Great Italian - cant wait to go back again!! Only bit of advice is for pepper grinders on each table.

Absolutely delicious, authentic Italian food. The only let down was the service which was a bit slow. That aside, I’ll definitely be returning for a meal in future!

The ambience was alright. The restaurant looks really stunning but that is only a part of the total experience. The food was really unpleasant amdist looking the part. The service was really poor. The clear indication by the empty Restaurant should have sent off a few alarm bells. It's really a shame, the restaurant has so much potential...but clearly it is lacking.

I've had the lamb shank & the oxtail and both dishes were incredibly delicious. The biscuit cake and caramel ice cream also made for an amazing dessert. It's a beautiful restaurant with an amazing view. I will be back.

A very pretty restaurant with an amazing view. The staff are all friendly. We had the gnocchi Gorgonzola and the oxtail pasta. The gnocchi Gorgonzola was delicious and the oxtail pasta, with a very generous portion of off the bone oxtail, is so yummy it has now become my favourite pasta dish.

Tasty Italian food prepared in an Italian restaurant situated in a busy & vibey area. The basil, pesto chicken pasta was my meal of choice & it did not disappoint my taste buds. Meals are inexpensive for a new Italian restaurant. I would recommend this joint for a Friday evening after a busy day at the office!

Had the oxtail pasta. Worst pasta I have ever eaten. Watery, tasteless, burnt oxtail and lacked any semblance of flavor. Complained and the manager/owner didn't even come to the table- just sent a feedback form with the waiter.

We were sad to see Ciao Baby Cucina was gone but perked up when we saw the near identical menu as we had popped in specifically for the other half’s favourite, the Spaghetti AI Frutti Di Mare. It was as delicious as always. I had two starters, the Polpette and Arancini, as I was only slightly peckish. They were a nice snack. Service was good.

Having been regulars at the old Ciao Naby Cucino we were pleased that the new restaurant is managed by the same owner and his team. New menu with new look and feel decor all looks great. We both had the veal dish very delicate and tasty that we really enjoyed. For dessert we had tiramasu that in our opinion is about the best you can get in town. They certainly made the right move breaking away to do their own thing and we wish the management team all the very best.
