Review Casa Bella Montecasino - Fourways

My girlfriend took me out to Casa Bella on Saturday and the food was chefs kiss* She went for the margarita pizza which is done authentically. Not smothered in cheese but rather simple ingredients prepared well. I ordered the lamb fettuccine - which was hearty, flavourful, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Oh, and don't get me started on the little bread ball things they give you on the table while you wait. They're insanely good. The only negative I would say is that the cocktails were bit of a letdown. Other than that, highly recommend.

Lovely ambiance and fresh,tasty pizzas served at Casa Bella. We enjoyed the authentic margherita pizza, Pepperoni Grande and Al Capone. I'm not a fan of gherkins and they were accommodating to change the gherkins to mushrooms. Filling portions and a wide variety of drinks to choose from. We opted or an iced tea, chocolate milkshake and iced coffee. The iced coffee is one of the best I have tasted. You are also provided with a complimentary starter of pizza dough puffs which is a great start to the mains. The restaurant does become very busy so be sure to book a table to avoid disappointment.

Came here to enjoy my birthday. It was a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant had great service. Food was good and tasty. Would recommend it for family visits.

Very attentive waitress, Nora. Service was very good. The food was good for all. We had the chicken livers, kingklip thermidore, a Florentino steak and a lasagne. Portions were quite generous.

Fantastic evening, great food and beautiful setting! Had the date night special, food was a really big and generous helpings and really good! The mussels started was devine and the lamb pizza was really surprisingly good and would definitely recommend, as the lamb is not overpowering! Will definitely be back!

The staff was friendly, the manager kept on checking up on us and always had a smile. As a vegetarian, the menu was amazing with many meat dishes which can be changed to vegetarian and vegan options👍👌... The environment is great where it's not dead but it's not noisy either and there is a mini lake which is romantic. The prices were also reasonable.

I went into Casa Bella for a late supper. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated immediately. The waiter brought out a table snack of bread, which was needed as I was hungry. For my main, I ordered the pasta di polo. It's chicken and mushroom with spaghetti with a white sauce. I swaped the pasta for zucchini spaghetti free of charge. The food was prepared quickly and was amazing. The sauce was creamy, and I added some extra paramasan from the table to add more flavour. Our waiter was friendly and checked on us constantly, which was nice. The atmosphere was pleasant. I would definitely return to the restaurant

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The place is lively and waiters are always energetic unlike some restaurants. Pricing is affordable and I always enjoy coming here. I’ll give them a 9/10 rating.

The starter prawns was probably the best dish I've had this year! Reasonably priced too... Shared the started and shared a pizza plus two drinks, meant both me and my boyfriend had full tummies and a bill under R300! Lovely atmosphere and great service from our waiter, Thembiso. Overall a great date night!

The waitress was very courteous and professional. In house spaghetti is out of ordinary. I ordered a pasta dish just to try their in house spaghetti. It is almost as thick as wudon noodle which was a surprise to me! The source was creamy, thick and delicious! What a delightful treat! The meals are very reasonably priced for the service and quality of meal we had ordered. Recommend!!

Probably one of my favorite restaurants to date - consistently excellent food, professional and attentive waiters (shout-out to you, Nicolas and Stanley!), a beautiful setup with a gorgeous atmosphere, generous portions, exquisite flavors... I can't stop rambling. Casa Bella is a must-try. Only one downside... we came for the lunch special advertised on the website and were told it's over, even though I had thr page open in front of me. Please do update the misleading advertising.

Had an absolute awesome dinner here. Our waiter Witness was the best! He answered all of our questions and was 100% attentive to our table. I highly recommend asking for Witness as a waiter when you're there ☺️ he's friendly, patient and made our experience absolutely perfect. Apart from the brilliant service; the food, presentation (love the Churchill crockery) and atmosphere was also 5 stars!

I absolutely love Casa Bella! The food is always delicious and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. I can highly recommend the Mushroom Tortellini, the Modena Calzone, and the Authentic Margherita but I'm sure you can't really go wrong with anything on their menu. The packets of little fried dough balls they serve as a table snack when you sit down are always a hit and they also make a delicious Don Pedro.

Vibrant, appealing and relaxed ambience. Warm and inviting restaurant. Service top notch and food excellent. Best grilled calamari I have eaten thus far. Loved the option of zucchini spaghetti as an alternative. Constant check ins by waiter and Manager on duty. Go on...give then a try.

I think any person's expectations get pushed up a notch when you are asked to wait for a table to become available. Fortunately, we didn't wait as long as the stated 10 mins and were ushered in by the hospitable staff. We managed to garner a table 'al fresco' which means we had a view into the casino filled with high rollers who were studying their poker hands with the same intensity we had with our menus. Food and drinks were quick to come out of the kitchen and bar after ordering. A Chicken Caesar Salad ticked all the right boxes for freshness and flavour, our pizzas didn't have a cracker crisp base, but were really generously topped with ingredients which made sense to have a more substantial base of dough. Cocktails were well made and presented. No wonder there's a waiting list to be seated.

The food and service is amazing! I've enjoyed every meal I've had there. The wait staff are friendly and don't forgot additional drinks orders, they are also very prompt. We sat inside and it was so incredibly noisey. We had to speak very loud over the blender noises

Friendly staff and great food. We could tell that they use fresh ingredients and don’t compromise on the quality of their food, it was excellent. We sat by the ‘river’ which is nice, but you occasionally get a bit of noise coming from the casino on the other side of the river, otherwise it was a great night out for 2...

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner to end off our holiday season. We were greeted by such a friendly waiter who kept checking on us regularly.<br/>We each had a delicious cocktail. Their selection of alcohol is very satisfying.<br/>They bring the most delicious bread (not sure what it is exactly) for pre meal snacking, would go back just for that 😍<br/>I had the calamari with roasted veg, which was so yummy and deliciously salted!<br/>My boyfriend had a pizza. I’ve never seen him finish a pizza before so it must have been amazing!<br/>We were so satisfied with our meal that we had no space for desert, but having seen the desert menu we went back the next day for banoffee pie and a turkish delight milkshake!!!! Safe to say it was the best cheat meal we’ve had in ages. <br/>This will be our new go-to restaurant!

Underrated, such a great restaurant.<br/>Went with the Mrs this weekend and was suprised how good it was, calamari were great and the toppings on my pizza were generous and of great quality and that wasnt the best part !!<br/>Their Banoffee and Turkish delight milkshake left me in shock, I have been craving that flavour all week!! Excellent service and superb and awesome meal will make u come back to this restaurant often. Manager udeka is so passionate about her food and service. Was bit difficult for me to choose from the menu but luckily she helped us to make our evening an awesome way. Can't wait to come back.. Loved it...

Date night last night and had dinner at this really lovely restaurant in Montecasino. <br/><br/>Asking for for a table which has “less” foot traffic I was taken to the interior and seated close to the open plan kitchen.<br/><br/>As a show was awaiting orders were placed quickly and I ordered the Con Pesce Fettuccine but without cream in the Napolitana sauce. <br/><br/>The fluffy fried dough served in place of standard bread was really addictive<br/><br/>Mains arrived quickly and I was blown away. For one of the very few times my food was delivered piping hot. The pasta (obviously home made) was cooked to perfection ie al dente. Plenty of seafood on the dish, suffice to say that I reckon it was almost 1:1 seafood to pasta ratio.<br/><br/>Very enjoyable meal and will be back.

Service is slow, I came on a Thursday night. It was empty but we waited 50 minutes for our pasta meals. I would not come back to this place, waiters are rude

Be careful the waiters think you to drink to realise that they added shots that you did not order onto your bill. I ordered two cosmopolitans yet when the bill came it included tequila shots x2 and gin x2 that I did not order. The waiter told me that he made it extra strong yet he never disclosed it included extra shots. Service poor, waiters are unfrinedly. I will not come here again, pasta is average even Cal Cachio does better. I would not recommend this place

The food is quite good but nothing spectacular. The drinks were also a bit weak and we had to ask them to make it stronger. The service was average, very slow. I definitely enjoyed the Casa Bella at Sun City much more. I would return but this wouldn’t be my first choice.

Amazing Italian food, everything was delicious. Many vegetarian and vegan options which is awesome! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some good quality, simple food 👌🏽

The food is amazing. I ordered the Al Capone and thoroughly enjoyed it! My husband ordered the lamb pizza and it was equally good! The limoncello cheesecake was a perfect end to the meal!

We had dinner here for my mom's birthday, absolutely delicious food, service was great, I'll definitely be back. The lamb was definitely something I'd order again

Another amazing pasta place! This branch is as amazing as the one in Midrand. <br/>It’s my third time at Casa Bella and i have never been disappointed. <br/>My all time favourite is their Spaghetti Bolognese!

Casa Bella is officially one of my favourite restaurants.<br/>The food is "WOW" I had the salmon pasta and the chocolate fondant and it was amazing! My only complaint, the mojito was a bit warm, I had to request extra ice to get (the soda water was warm, and there was crushed ice on the top but it was not enough) the mojito ice enough to enjoy. The setting is a absolutely lovely and relaxing.

I loved this restaurant. I had the spatchcock chicken it was just amazing. The service was on point. I am not a big fan of the location of the restaurant in Monte but you wont even notice after you taste the food. The service was efficient and the restaurant itself looked very fancy.

Pre show lunch and we decided to give Casa Bella a run. Upon walking in, we were greated by friendly staff. We were seated promptly and made known our time constraints.<br/><br/>The waitress promptly took our drink orders and brought some awesome snacks while we were waiting for our drinks - think fluffy small little vetkoeks with butter (pure deliciousness)<br/><br/>I had the pepper fillet, mine was done to perfection with grilled vegtables. We also had pasta which was again perfectly done to al dente.<br/><br/>Thanks for a great experience, will be back when we are back for anothet show😄

Situated in Monte Casino. Lovely ambience good service.<br/><br/>We were served with a nice complimentary ietsie. (I have no idea what it is but very yum). The cheese gnocchi is so delish and highly recommended. Food is really good however the menu is quite limited

19.09.2018 I was invited along with some of my favourite people to join in the 1st celebrations of Casa Bella Dining<br/><br/>There is also a branch at Mall Of Africa, but we were here to celebrate 12 months of "delizioso" at Monte.<br/><br/>A lovely decorated long table awaited us, with the menu featuring fresh, authentic and carefully considered cuisine made from the finest quality ingredients such as imported Italian flour, 100% Durum wheat and locally sourced fresh food. We had no idea of the feast that was in-store for us.<br/><br/>We were welcomed by Johan - the owner, who talked us through some of the preparation time and care taken to make their authentic Italian cuisine. It definitely showed in some of the food.<br/><br/>To nibble while waiting on guests to arrive we were given these delectable little complimentary Fritters (it's like Mini Vetkoek) with Chilli and Garlic, i swear i could have eaten a whole bowl of them and i would be satisfied. Along with the beautiful sounds of a Saxophone.<br/><br/>Starters comprised of Caprese Salad, Greek Salad, Peri Peri Livers, Cheesy Prawns tails and Cheesy Italian Bread/Pizza. Great start to the evening, everyone tucking in and sharing meals. The food was paired with your choice of "Great Expectations" Sauvignon Blanc or Crane Red Merlot.<br/><br/>Mains - Wow. Not only were we already slightly full but the food just kept coming and such a superb variety for all. Whether you are a meat lover or not thete is something to satisfy every picky eater. We visited this establishment for the first time a few weeks ago... and WOW!<br/><br/>Service was fantastic.<br/><br/>We had pizzas and they were absolutely amazing.

If you need to have some yummy Italian pasta and pizzas you must visit this place...the ambience, the staff and yes of course the food is all at class ...loved this place..for the pizzas..just perfectly done!!!!

Manager Nhlanhla was excellent and adjusted the menu to suit our tastes. A great place to enjoy good Italian food. I’ll certainly be back many times over. <br/>Our waitress Portia was such a darling!<br/>Don’t miss out on visiting Casa Bella whilst at Monte Casino

The tables are a bit on the smaller size especially if it's 4 people at one small table but the service was really good and the food tasted amazing. Definitely a place to keep visiting.

Found Casa Bella as our choice for a casual dinner with friends. Although the restaurant was very busy, they quickly made a plan to seat us. The menu has a good selection. The whole table chose different items and everyone was extremely happy with their food! Pizza is fantastic. It was a nice atmosphere and would definitely go back. The only small criticism was that we had to keep looking for our waitress, so perhaps they could do with a few extra staff on the busy nights!

Family favourite in monte. The service is always superb, food is delicious and friendly staff. I absolutely LOVE the fried pizza dough that they serve complimentary, my sons LOVE LOVE LOVE these too. The garlic prawns starter is amazing and something I order frequently. The margherita pizza is the boys favourite.

Take it from an Italian, simply the worst pizza you can imagine. Cold and using a raw tomato paste - incredible! The Mall of Africa outlet was excellent. Add to this a 45 minute wait for two pizzas....<br/>

Although the ambience was slightly above average, the food was just below standard. Presented beautifully the food was a dissapointment. I tried the salmon pasta with zucchini linguini. It wasn't something I enjoyed eating. I wouldn't order it again. Service was okay not excellent and was below standard. Would I go to casa Bella again? Not unless in dire circumstances. Not horrible but does not meet the average mark to me.

Ummm if i wanted to eat woolworths afredo warmed up i would of bought it myself instead of coming here... lol never paid R120 for a microwave meal before. Pizza was ok. Shot.

It's good. Even better that they are open after the late theater shows. Service is good and food is tasty. No short cuts and you get what is advertised on the menu.

The ambiance of this restaurant was lovely, the staff was also quite friendly and excellent service.<br/><br/>The food was average though, the starters that we had was deep fried sour dough bread which was quite unique and special, but it may be a little too salty. The pasta’s that we ordered was great and I appreciate the fact that the sauces could be altered slightly according to our needs as other restaurants would say that sauces are pre-made and can’t be altered. The sauces of the pasta was slightly too salty too. Otherwise it was tasty! <br/><br/>I would definitely be back again, despite a few concerns here and there. The service was amazing overall and attitudes of the staff was great too!

Absolutely lovely! Friendly service. Instead of the same old bread and butter, they give you delicious bite sizes fried pizza seasoned dough - YUM!<br/><br/>I ordered the pulled pork pasta, very good however needed a little bit more seasoning.<br/><br/>Hubby ordered the fillet pizza, which he says he would order again.<br/><br/>Their mojitos come in a large glass instead of the tumbler, which I must rather prefer.<br/><br/>Overall a good night out.

This is the best pizza I’ve ever had! Great service and delicious food! My favorite pizzas has to be the Filleto and the Authentic Margarita, definitely a MUST try.

Definitely settling in quite well at Monte. Place has two links on zomato (not sure why) and from my original review have definitely stepped up. I still love those fried doughs served complimentary. Good food. Service on point.

Walk into Casa Bella and you'll find yourself in a warm and welcoming setting, with friendly staff, fantastic service, and the most amazing food. The portion of bread fritters along with garlic, parmesan cheese, and chilli which is served upon arrival goes down a treat, with the bread fritters very addictive. Personally, I've had the chorizo pasta, and creamy pulled pork pasta - on two different occasions - and both were delicious. I will definitely be back again and would highly recommend it! Best Italian food I've had in Joburg.

I am the pickiest eater ever so I seldom find restaurants I want to eat out at. Casa Bella (Montecasino) is the exception. Great ambience and food. Love the parmesan chicken!

This is an unexpected experience, on New Year's Day we were looking for somewhere to have lunch 🍴 nothing was open, so we landed up at Monte and decided to try this place. Well, low and behold fresh produce, home made pasta 🍝 what a treat. What a surprise to find such good, tasty food. You want excellent Italian meal visit this restaurant. The setting is pretty when you sit in the "garden" with the water running. The staff and service is fantastic, they are friendly and good at there jobs. I don't really like Monte but this as a lovely 😊 experience. <br/>

Recently been to casa Bella for an evening dinner. Overall it was a good experience. The menu was quite diverse and there is something for everyone. The food was good, nothing to complain about. I did however find the price of the Alfredo pasta to be a bit expensive and above the usual market price. I also do wish that more cocktails are added to the drinks menu. Service was average but on a whole it’s a good place for a dinner if you’re looking for something Italian.

Met a friend for lunch. It was a ordinary meal with ordinary service. While the menu was large I opted for the vegetable linguine. After abit more seasoning and chilli it tasted good. Fudge Picasso was the highlight of the meal.

Having been to the Mall of Africa branch quite a few times I must say, I was really impressed when our dishes came and they were exactly like the other branch we usually go to.  This is what you want from a franchise, they all should be on the same level.  Again, there is nothing on this planet like home made pasta and the dishes were delicious.  The chicken livers had just the right bite and the pasta although could have done with maybe slightly less cooking, it was still very tasty.  Ive never had pizza here before as I love thick base pizzas so I cant really comment on the pizza.  The service was very good.  Their prices are higher than some of their other branches which is a bit disappointing.  I kind of feel they should have put more effort in dealing with the landlord on their rent and kind of keep prices the same overall. Keeping the fact in mind that they are almost guaranteed of customers I don’t feel that they should have increased their prices.  My pasta dish I think is almost R15 more expensive at the Monte Casino branch and that is just one of our dishes so I take it we paid quite a few bucks more at this branch that we would at another.

All I can say is that's it's the best lasagna I have ever had 😍 the portions are amazing , the selection of wines great and customer service is at our excellence .I will surely return at my next visit 😍

Visited here on their opening weeks, back in September. The kitchen lies inside at back of the restaurant which is spacious and offers the outside terrace like the previous tenants. Sitting just by the kitchen was noisy as the lady at pass screamed orders from time got there till we left, I hope this has been resolved by now!<br/><br/>Food was ok, everything that came out the kitchen looked good. The little packet of fried pizza dough was nice. The arribiata pasta sauce was a bit flavorless on chilli and garlic, was like canned raw tomotoes so we added more. The gongozolo gnocchi was better, the gnocchi was perfect but sauce needed more flavour so I added some arribiata sauce to it. The dessert of fudge picasso was stand out dish as well as the zucchini fries. The milkshake was average. <br/><br/>Service was great from time you walk in till you leave with management visible. I will return as opening week is hectic for places and with time kinks are ironed out.

This was the first time we visited this new Casa Bella in Monte as we usually go to the one at Mall of Africa. All I can say is that this Casa Bella is where we shall go from now on. Great atmosphere, relaxed setting and reasonable wine list. We both had the fettucine con pesce that was calamari, mussels and prawns in a creamy napoletani sauce. The combinations of the tastes combined with the sauce and pasta was absolutely divine. Added to that great service from our waiter Lucky and the most attentive Duty Manager (Wessli) that I have personally ever experienced I can only say very well done. Casa Bella Mall of Africa watch out you have serious competition in Fourways.
