Parking is easy at certain times of the day, seating options good for any weather conditions and service excellent.

Offers fantastic & very friendly service, from an amazing compliment of staff. As well as hands-on Management/Ownership. Delicious & freshly prepared meals, a definite recommendation. Where friends go to meet!

Really enjoy eating here, nice and friendly, very pleasant staff ... quick service. Great breakfasts, awesome burgers and toasted sarmies.

Pleasant restaurant with varied menu and good service from proprietor and staff. Licensed, which was a pleasant surprise. Ramp and disabled parking bay immediately outside make it accessible. Good bathroom but not a disabled one.

Since I've been in Durban was going down to joburg so I can actually carry on with my music but I came through here my sister was working here by Grand Slam and I was sitting here when I go to the elm street Cafe for a job as waiter obviously their jobs now harder fight so let's just here just to make some extra cash but I like the place they claim there's another recommendation for Me by Grand Slam but she still works there so is there any a good name about this guy the manager's name was Justin very good I love the service

Top notch! Food has always been quality and prices reasonable. New management has improved the design but kept the warm and friendly atmosphere that I've come to love from Elm Street Cafe. Outside smoking area a bonus. A hidden gem.

Food has always been amazing whenever I come back home. Breakfast are big and delicious, latte flavours are devine! My favourite dish has to be the chicken prego, an amazing combo of garlic, butter and spice!

One of my go to places when I need a good breakfast! They have such a wide menu and caters to basically anything you could crave ! I thoroughly enjoy their breakfasts and their hash browns are so good. Nice place to go if you’re not worrying about eating carbs haha :). <br/><br/>One downfall unfortunately, is that the service is slightly slow. It takes quite long to get your food which can become frustrating. The staff though are helpful and friendly and try make your experience a good one.

Its a great place for a quick cappuccino and brekkie, make sure to be there early as they have very little seating and they fill up quiet fast.

The staffs friendly and the foods filling! Very central for access. Been there twice now. Managements is always engaging with regulars. That was nice.

First time eating here since the place was renovated, and we were really impressed.<br/>My partner had an omelette with cheese, ham and tomato and it was packed generously with fillings. I had the basic breakfast and asked for it without mushrooms - the waitress then offered hash brown as a replacement which I gratefully accepted. Eggs were done perfectly, hash brown and onion was home made and the bacon was crispy. <br/>Definitely worth popping in for breakfast.

I have been coming to Elm Street for the past 7 years. Don't know what happened since the place has been sold but it's gone down. Came today for a take away. First they left my take away order sitting behind their counter for almost 10 minutes before realizing that it was mine. Then I get home to a soggy toasted cheese and tomato that I couldn't even eat! Very disappointed and will never be eating there again!

Elm Street Cafe has been newly renovated by new owners and is quickly becoming a popular local spot. There is live music playing every second weekend and the cafe has a homely feel to it. The menu has a little bit of everything so there's no cuisine theme running through it but there's something for everyone and the owners have said that they're also redoing a lot of the menu items. The restaurant is still having work done to it and the service could be a bit better but it's a good spot if you're looking for a sundowner and you're in the Edenvale area.

A nice quaint place to have a Saturday morning breakfast with the mom-in-law. The food is well priced and the breakfast is done superbly! The service is good too.

This is a favourite amongst the locals as it is convenient and has a welcoming ambiance. The breakfasts, lunches and coffee are well priced. From time to time I pop in for a quick sandwich or coffee as the service is quite good. For a small café they have a wide variety of meals available. There is something for everyone here to enjoy!

Quaint and ordinary. Food is good. The tramezzinis are great although a bit bland, the chicken breast with salad is great. They have nice healthy meals and the service is average. Coffee also good. Great place for some laptop work and a bite or a lunch with a mate.

Nice rainy day breakfast by myself today before work started. Decent service and my hot chocolate was delicious. The breakfast was as I ordered it and very tasty. Enjoyed the atmosphere and I will be bringing the family back :)

I love this little café. Really great breakfasts and I like the outdoor setting. The coffees are great too. The staff are friendly and the service is quick.

Unfortunately this restaurant allows smoking in the enclosed veranda, which makes eating there extremely unpleasant.  It's worse in winter, when none of the flaps on the veranda are lifted up and the smoke wafts into the inside section too. So if you are a non smoker, you cannot sit outside and enjoy your meal.

very chilled airy environment, service is friendly, the food is really tasty and reasonably priced. Very relaxing vibe, must visit.

What I like about this place is that it's not inside a mall, and it's close to home. This is the place I go to on a Sunday morning when I want a good breakfast and I don't want to have to make it myself. <br/> It's a small coffee shop with its regular clientele, offering good food without the hype. I love the fact that you'll always find a group of old men sitting around having an espresso playing card games. This says a lot to me - they're not rushing you in and out for the sake of making a buck, you're welcome to sit down and relax, even if you're just sipping on an ice coffee and reading the paper. They don't have anything outstanding on their menu, but that said, nothing bad either. Service is good and for an affordable tasty breakfast you won't go wrong.
