Review Ka Lok Chinese Takeaway - Durbanville

What an hidden Gem, was greeted by staff when we walked in, staff member explained the menu and recommendations for the buy one get one free special. The Bubble Tea was such a nice refreshing drink to have while waiting for the food which took 20min to prepare. The Salmon Platter was amazing all the ingredients were fresh and portion size was perfect for a couple. The Chinese food was warm and very tasteful with loads of flavour. The hand roll was made with fresh rice. The most impressive part of the order was the fresh ginger and fresh wasabi. Packaging was extremely firm nothing fell apart or opened as we drove home. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Chinese food and sushi.

I went in to see their Buy 1 Get 1 special and was impressed that it applied to their sashimi, roses, specialist rolls etc. I ended up with six pieces of salmon sashimi, 16 tuna fashion sandwiches, and four salmon nigiri for just over R200. It was fresh, tasty, and good quality. Really impressed and I'll be back.

The quality of the sushi superb

I always get the Tom Yum soup on the side of my order, but yesterday it was extra special! It was so fresh, the prawns and chicken were juicy and flavourful and the broth was perfectly spicy and tangy! Kalok is always a hit

I order from here often, almost a weekly basis. It’s my go - to sushi place. The 2 for 1 deal is great, and I enjoy their very reasonably priced “Chinese” food. Yeah, the front till staff may be questionable in terms of customer service, but they’re friendly, and the good sushi makes up for it.

Friendly Service. Lovely Sushi !! Clean and neat and following COVID Protocols. We like stopping there to collect lunch after school. They have a most alluring "Buy one, get one Free" offer, so we get double lunch !! 🥰🥰

This is our preferred take away sushi spot. Never had a bad experience and their prices are reasonable. They just need to update their website menu prices.

Wow, I love this sushi. It's so fresh and delicious. It's great value for little money. The 2 for 1 special also makes it very affordable to buy for 2+ people. You can also choose half salmon and half prawn combo. I always take the salmon combo and go half-half. I would definitely recommend ka lok to anybody who loves sushi, but doesn't love spending R10 per piece.

Absolutely divine sushi! Fast service and the buy one get one free deal is great. Good value for money. They use massive chunks of salmon for their sushi so that's a plus. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
