Review Dos Chido Mexican Bbq - Durbanville

Being a big fan of Mexican food I was excited when I heard about Dos Chido in Durbanville. Their name means "Two Cool" (or "Too Cool") and they definitely live up to it, all the way from the drinks and food to the decor. The restaurant has a modern design with vibrant colours with a clear Mexican theme throughout. If you are a fan of Margaritas then this should be your local go-to spot in the Durbanville area. The food is also very tasty. For starters we had some of the chilli poppers (which were on the spicier side of those which I have tried) and pork crackling which was very flavourful and crispy. The mains impressed me even more, with my wife going for the tacos 3-ways (chicken, beef and pulled pork) and I went for their their burger topped with a tasty pork rasher (I can't remember the specific name of the burger though). Most of their meat dishes are smoked and their portion sizes are good. We had a great time and if I lived close by I would definitely frequent them during their happy hour.

What a quirky and fun mexican restaurant. My friends and I really enjoyed the food, some very hot but also options for the more sensitive pallet. Staff was also really fun and friendly, helping us navigate through an interesting but quirky menu. Food was great. A definite must try.

I haven't found ribs I like in 30 years. Until we discovered Dos Chido. Delicious. Addicted. Keep it up guys 💕

I was rather hungry today and felt like Pulled Pork... Found Nachos, with Pulled Pork, here, as I hoped for. Rather nice "wood fired smoker" they have there and the pulled pork tasted as good as it looks on the photograph!

Lovely little hang out spot, absolutely loved the wings and margaritas. Gets packed real quick so remember to book a table.

It's the first time we've been there and it was really great. Beautiful decor and fantastic service. 1l jug of magaritas for R99 was a good (Friday night) deal. We had pork nachos, they were really good, and the 400g smoked pork ribs - which were amazing! We'll definitely be back! Thanks for a great night out

The menu has a wide range of meals to choose from and they allow you to mix and match items. Food was good.

We shared the pork ribs and had some fried chili poppers - both fantastic! Ribs were super tender and smokey, poppers had the perfect “hotness” and the chips were nice and crispy. Friendly and passionate staff made the experience very enjoyable! Thanks!

This restaurant is ideal for a casual night out with friends over delicious Mexican food. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff friendly and we didn't wait long for our food to be served. Try the Smoked Pork Belly Chunks with Smoked apple Butter. Wow, delicious! I'm happy to see more interesting restaurants opening up in Durbanville and will be back for more soon!

What do you want to read about this restaurant? Food was amazing... Service was great... Waiters friendly... Will we go back again... YES, YES, YES AND YES AGAIN!! We had few tapas tonight, but we will be going back soon and I will be having one of the meat platters. Their smoked menu items are insane and the staff are warm and friendly. Amazing food! Fabulous service, Paul and Carina went out of their way to show us the kitchen and taste the food. Really awesome people....definitely on the top of our favorite list of places to eat at. Great for take aways as well. The smoked ribs and meat is too die for!

What an amazing experience! We were blown away from the moment we walked in: warm welcome by the owner, amazing recommendations by the very proficient waiter, beautiful decor and ambience, wholesome, fresh and tasty food...we are also now newly converted tequila drinkers! A very welcome addition to the poor northern suburbs cuisine offering. Good quality, especially the smoked Texan style briskets and pork are top notch. On the pricey side. The service was five star.
