Review Signal Gun Wines Restaurant - Durbanville

Spending Sunday afternoon at Signal Gun Wine farm was a day well spent. Thanks to the warmest welcome from Logan who treated us very well with his knowledgeable input on the selection of wines for available in their tasting section. Loved the view and the botanical experience. Wrong place if you are big fan of cheese platters or charcuterie otherwise my newly discovered heaven. I have to review my list of best wine farms in Durbanville after visiting this jewel. Family friendly with live music on Sundays. Not a friendly place for disabled people but a wonderful place indeed. We will definitely make a turn again

Signal Gun is an amazing place with great food, great views and great vibes! There are play areas for the kids and a TV for sport. The whole family can go and enjoy a day there.

Signal Gun is an amazing vineyard with spectacular views and has an ambience of peace & tranquility. It is also home to a top-class restaurant and we were warmly greeted and welcomed by the friendly, pleasant and attentive staff. The pizza I had was delicious and, combined with the outstanding service, great value for money.

What a great experience! One of the best dinners I have had in ages. I had the Caprese Burger(cooked perfectly and we'll balanced between the tangy sweetness of sundry tomatoes and salty Parma ham with some fresh pesto, nothing overpowering on the burgers, the flavours worked really well together) and my wife had the porky pizza (hand made, thin and crispy pizza which you could tell was freshly hand made, pockets of delicious cream cheese and once again well balanced) we also had the Whitley Neil gin special which were 2 for around R68. The service was quick, friendly and very professional with great recommendations. Honestly did not expect this type of meal, but will 100% visit more often. The ambiance is also very nice and with beautiful views. Thanks for the great meal Signal Gun Wines.

We had a really good time Thank You ! Met up with some good friends on Sunday and enjoyed the friendly staff, the awesome food and the perfect setting. The service started off a bit slow but once we were settled everything turned out great. Food was served hot and beautifully presented and very tasty indeed.

What a lovely place. We were at the restaurant for a Mother's Day treat. The food was absolutely delicious 😋 There was a bit of a queue when we arrived but that just shows how well known and amazing the place is. Waiting time on the food and drinks was forgivable because the scenery was so captivating.We will definitely be back for the wine and beer tasting.

Lovely venue! I was there for a birthday celebration. We had a private area to ourselves and were served pizza and sliders (as arranged by our hosts). The food was great and from what other guests were saying the beer was good too 🍺 Outside is a lovely play area for the kids and lots of grass under shady trees. I believe the venue offers wine and beer tastings. Bathroom was clean and neat.

Food was delicious and definitely worth it. They were quite busy when we went and still managed to give us excellent service and quality food. There was one issue where the starter didnt arrive, but they quickly corrected it and brought it through. Worth every star. Food was so delicious, we were halfway through before we even realised we forgot to take pictures of the amazing food.

Great food and service, our waitress Kushy, was very attentive and most pleasant. The menu is great choices and the burgers were great, stunning views and play area. Can highly recommend Signal Gun. Also enjoyed the live music.

Stunning venue with friendly staff.The food not bad but we had to send the ribs back being chewy.The burgers are 5 star and the pizza’s tasty!!Will have to return for wine tasting and beer tasting😎😎

It’s a really nice location. Service was perfect. Wine great. I would say there were a few weird aspects: 1. Wine came with Turkish delight. Not terrible but cheese or chocolate is better. 2. You could make your own cheese board but only if you bought whole blocks of cheese. 3. The beer tasting flight only has two beers in it which isn’t really a selection.

Lovely venue in a lush garden. Friendly waitrons and very helpful. Food is great a reasonable prices. Well worth the visit. Will return.

Staff are so welcoming and friendly. Food was really delicious. Beautiful views. Went out their way to spoil us with cake for our anniversary. Thank you. Will definitely be back.

I would rate 2.5 stars if possible . Had a birthday lunch with a group of ten friends , almost everyone at our table was unhappy with something . Pizzas were missing toppings , staters arrive after main were served. R112 for a pulled pork burger , the pork was incredible however the roll was so stale it was difficult to eat - when you are charging that much for a burger the least you could offer is a fresh roll ? Granted it was busy , I am sure it is busy every weekend. Surely this is something you should be prepared for ? Our waiter was good , but didn’t seen him too often as he was running around a bit. On the positive. Venue was great, the atmosphere was great and I am sure if the kitchen/service was right it could easily receive a 5 star rating . I hope anyone who goes there catches the kitchen on a good day .

I came for a � tasting. They had three beers on offer but added a fourth wine cooler to the tasting tray. As I approached the tasting room I was immediately greeted warmly and seated. The waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the beers on offer and immediately offered a tasting. Less than a minute I had my tasting sheet and glasses and the waiter explained the brews clearly and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. This was in consideration that they were fully booked and didn't have many tables open. I appreciate that they consider a single person walking in a customer as well. Only thing the wine cooler had a sprig of chocolate mint in it, spearmint would have been more appropriate.

Just want to thank Signal Gun for hosting my husbands 40th birthday Bash on Friday the 6th of October. We had family from all over the world joining us. And you really went above and beyond for us. Service was ok excellent, food delicious and the staff where friendly. Thank you once again for everything. I pray your wine farm goes from strength to strength and I will always recommend you to others. �

The last time i was at Signal Gun was in February and i had a wonderful experience,everyone was friendly and the waiter really put our needs first and we left feeling like royalty .This past Saturday i decided to bring some friends along so that they could also experience the beauty of Signal Gun.However this past Saturday things were very different,we were greeted by a guy in a pony tail who told us to go sit at the back because there was an empty seat(fine no problem).We then sat down and waited for 15 min without anyone taking our order or even introducing themselves to us.we had to call someone over.I know it was busy and everyone was probably spinning ,but that is why restaurants have managers to see things like this and the one lady manager dressed in black was busy but the other one who is probably the floor manager ,who job it is to look after the front of house was just standing in the corner and watching and waiting and watching all the busy waiters running up and down and watching how customers were eating and watching how customers were speaking to each other and waiting..... and watching a bit more and watching our table as we waiting for a waiter and still doing nothing about the fact that we were waiting long.Any way we asked the waiter if we could go across to the other side of the farm and then come back ,he said it was not a problem and we could go over and come back and he will keep our table.We came back 15 min later and our table that he was supposed to keep for us was occupied by someone else but the table next to it was empty so we assumed he probably kept that one for us.At this time we were looking at peoples plate and we saw delicious burgers ,pizzas and many other dishes that looks so inviting. We asked for menus because the menus had been removed. The waiter then smiles and says that unfortunately the kitchen is very busy and that if we place an order now then the order will only be placed with the kitchen after 2 hours. I was flabbergasted i actually thought he was joking ,i then asked if that applies to pizzas as well , he said yes even for pizza , He said after 2 hours the order will be placed and then we will need to wait an additional time for the food to be prepared.Did i mention during all this time the manager lady was just watching and watching and watching waiting to see what we going to do next. I have been in the food industry and know that you should never tell a customer that the food can only be orders after 2 hours ,even if your kitchen is very busy.We then decided to leave and went to another restaurant.When we got to the other restaurant i explained to the waiter what happened and i asked that waiter if he had ever told a customer that before ,to which he replied No , never. I then asked him why would a waiter tell a customer that they can only order after 2 hours, he replied and said "They told you that because they were chasing you away" so there you have it Signal Gun ,were you chasing us away?

We came for a late lunch on Sunday. The pizza was actually the best I've had in a while and our waiter was very friendly and eventhough the place was very busy all went very well. He allowed us to move to a quieter corner because we were first seated in a very bad area. After that, all was great.

I was there for wines tasting with my brother from Pretoria on Saturday afternoon. The place was buzzing - very busy Waited a long time for service. Eventually when we did get service the waitron raced thru the description of the wine. Had to wait a long time before our next wine on the list was explained and poured. The wines were very young ~ 2017 ~ and not palatable at all. We asked for 2016 wines, they obliged ~ also not very nice but a little better than the 2017 wines. And because we waited so long to be served in between tastings the waitron kindly waived our bill and was on the house. Then we decided to go up to the restaurant for an early supper. Not a large choice, we ordered steaks. I have definitely had better. On the whole very disappointed 😔

A few bad experiences with a very unhappy waiter today but after speaking to the manager Carli, she apologised and didn't charge us for our food. The situation was handled very well and I think that I will give them a second chance in the future. The food is amazing and the view is great...

Service was excellent, best waitress we have ever had. The food was over priced for the portion sizing and nothing to write home about. Tasteless to say the least. Presentation was good but lead to such an anticlimax . If we decide to go back, it will be for the beer and the location.

Beautiful and protected patio area was delightful. The new vines give a great ambience! The area below the spiral staircase can be utilized because its so private....just a suggestion. The food was lovely and the service great!

They welcomed our group of 34 like we were family! The most amazing people, views, wine, and beer. This is a little slice of heaven on earth. I only wish we were here longer!

Great experience for our big beer group. A refreshing welcome drink plus two excellent wines. Then good beer. Such a welcoming place with great people.
