Reviews Sondela Buffet Restaurant

Had the opportunity of dining at the Tatso Restaurant on Friday 19 August 2022. Read all the reviews loaded onto the webpage and was not looking forward to taking the wife out for the evening, especially at R270 per person. On arrival, a very friendly staff member received us and allocated us a table for two. Took my cellphone to the buffet area ready to take photographs proving the reviews were valid. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of foods available and the service. We were served with the required foods in helping sizes which was very reasonable. At times I had to insist on smaller servings indicating that I will be back for seconds if necessary. The two hours limit was more than sufficient. If you have to host a party at the restaurant, remember there are others waiting to get in. If the food is so bad, why the long queues outside waiting to get in. If you require 3 or 4 hours, get a private venue where you will not disturb others. Things do get rowdy at a party. To the management of the restaurant, well done. I have been to many restaurants where I expect the best for my money and I am fussy about the food I get served. To the Tatso management, guys you are the best.

Not too sure why this place has so many bad reviews . I was fully hesitant before coming through because of the bad reviews but I’m so glad I went through because it was a great time . Took a party of 6 for dinner and the buffet had a small-ish selection but really delicious and more than satisfying . Really warm atmosphere, beautiful decor and welcoming staff . Would absolutely come back again , well worth the money (R275) .

I dined at Tatso on 17.11.22. I must compliment the most friendly person MICA. He gave us the best service. He was most accommodating and this will certainly bring me back to Tatso

I'm very new to this kind of buffet style restaurants (waiter-less) however it works. The restaurant is nice and child friendly. I wasn't completely blown away by the food as there is a limited variety. The curries were spot on and the hake was dry. Desserts need some work, if it says mango cheesecake, I want Mango cheesecake not a tart granadilla thing. I thought we'd be having dinner by candlelight when Eskom loadshed us but they have back up generators which is great. Overall the food was tasty and the family liked it. So I'm happy 🙂

I tend to disagree with the previous reviews. Denzil is doing a fantastic job of upstanding tatso. The place is neat, elegant, and staff are Uber friendly. Food is great. Some people overdo it, so do expect food to be low if you come in late. Certainly no fault of the restaurant. Desserts are awesome. Thanks Denzil
