Their baskets are pretty good - decent sizes and they taste good too. The staff are all always friendly and the service is good too. A lovely place to just have a drink and chill too.

Always an awesome vibe at Amsterdam. Situated on the bustling active bubbly Davenport Road, it's no wonder this place is never dull. I just had a cocktail but was amazed at how chilled it was sitting there and unwinding. Perfect for those Friday after-work sessions, kicking back with a cocktail or beer or two and having some friendly chatter or watching a big sport game on one of the many TV screens mounted around the place. WHAT A FANTASTICALLY CHILLED ESTABLISHMENT.

Whenever I go back home to visit, there it is with an extensive menu of interesting (cheap) cocktails and shots to share with your friends.Β
The deck is ideal for Durban weather and Davenport Rd provides a steady flow of entertainment to watch. The last few times I have tried their nachos and can honestly say they are the best I have ever had. (Sorry, Fat Cactus!)
They use authentic nacho chips and layer them with a savory tomato paste before adding a duvet of melted cheese. The quantity of cheese on these nachos is enough to forgive the often weak service and irritating live music.
And of course, they give you little silver tubs of guac and sour cream to go HAM with.
Any time you're in Durbs and need to experience the "chill" everyone knows it for, Amsterdam is great for a relaxing afternoon and then maybe a raucous evening.
Rad place to meet uo with some friends and get proper sloshed, they have a nice outside area so if you don't like dancing or loud music you can chat with your mates. Prices are average and location perfect, I had a fun time.
Absolutely enjoyed my time at Amsterdam. Had their smash burger and wings combo. Burger was really nice and juicy plus full of flavour. As for the atmosphere went in when they had a comedy night so that really helped score points on the vide. I can definitely see myself having a beer with friends here after a long day at work.
Come and relax, great drinks on happy hour, good food and and good music.

Popped in for lunch. Great atmosphere, the service was top notch, the waitress was very attentive in a manner that was not annoying. It was the perfect spot to watch the hustle and bustle of durban surbabia. I liked the design of the place, the urinals in the loo are made from beer kegs which I found very creative.
The food: awesome pub grub type of food. The burger could have been better seasoned, but that's a matter of taste I guess. Definitely looking to forward to returning there one of these days for an evening drink.
This is a laid back place where you should feel at home. The service is very relaxed but in a good way. Everyone know each other by name and the music is reminiscent of a friend's high school house party. There is no social anxiety here and the food is hands down the best pub and grill food in KZN
Good pub fare. Best onion rings in town and great baskets. They also do a really good burger and the atmosphere is what one would expect in a pub. The live music and comedy nights are the best.

Great vibe, the band, Abahambayo had the whole place heaving. Great for bring and braai on Sunday afternoons too and karaoke Mondays. Love this place, top to bottom, start to finish. Great staff, security, pizza from Berlin. Good prices too.

Amsterdam bar and grill has a lovely homey vibe which is great for some but not for everyone, that being said like most bars there's a click of people who are regulars. Amsterdam's regulars blend in well with new comers and are very welcoming, the bar is as well with a very "welcome home vibe" but I feel like it's too homey, as if it's missing that bar vibe. Nonetheless great service, great foods with decent prices and friendly staff.
Great place for drinks and grub. Frequented by laid back patrons, good value for money. Lovely chill spot at the back. The service is lacking and can be greatly improved through a little training of the staff. One of the reasons for the 4 stars are the great burgers that they have on offer.. Definitely recommend their burger.
Always visit on a weeknight as it's not busy and service is relatively quick. Drinks aren't expensive and food is actually really good. Service is excellent. Great place to hangout with a group of friends.
