Review Luna Blu - Durban

Not too much parking and it is on a busy street. The blue isn't over done in the decor and it was a nice look. Service and food was good. Prices are on the higher side as expected. Unique ginger and honey mix drink. The service was really fast. but there wasn't any other customer till a few minutes later. There is a wide selection place. it is a nice place for a date. The creme brulee was average.

Great food but service is the only thing stopping this eatery from getting a 5 star is lack of a good hands on manager. The waiters and cuisine are great BUT if the food is co ordinated better and the messenger does a check up that everything is good at each table it can be one of the best! Try out the fillet la Luna with H man pasta

Hand down, This has to be the best Muslim halaal pizza place around. Great venue, ambiance and service. The Alla Thai pizza is my favorite. Did I mention the really thin pizza bases?

As a pizza connoisseur, I was hesitant to order pizza from Luna Blu. On face value it didn't look like it could make half decent pizza. But I was convinced to order two pizza's including their very nifty half-and-half option. The pizzas were incredible even though the toppings were complicated. I usually opt for a simple pizza topping but I was advised that their real sellers are ones with flavourful sauces all over. It was an explosion of flavours on a perfect crispy base. The service was good but the setting needs a make over. A good option for a quick dinner in Durban. And it's Halaal.

This cosy little restaurant serves some really great food. We went just before closing, being the only ones in the restaurant, service was top notch. We ordered a pasta and pizza dish to share, both were really tasty and they were generous with the chilli which was to our liking. I would go back again.

Have been eating here more frequently of late. The furniture could do with an upgrade and the ambience is a bit drab. Food (especially the Pizzas) were great though. Thin crust and generous toppings.

Best known for their potato pizza, Luna Blu recently saw a change in management and a bit of a facelift. The restaurant is small, and probably seats a max of 50 people. Décor is modern chic and the menu has a large variety of gourmet pizzas, pastas, burgers as well as steak and chicken main meals.

I regularly order the potato pizza as takeaway, but went by recently for a sit down meal. We had the prawn empanada for starters which were unimpressive and I can’t be sure there were actually any prawns in them. For mains we shared a potato pizza, which was great as always even though they have slightly adjusted the flavor combination. We also tried out the chicken Balintene which is stuffed with spinach and mushrooms, the chicken was cooked well but the filling and sauce topping were average and rather bland. I have also tried the Alla Thai pizza before and it is way too sweet and strange tasting.

Dessert options are limited to four and I would only recommend the crème brulee nothing else is any good. Be prepared to wait for your food, service is really slow and worsens with a full house (which is most weekends).
