Awesome experience, fantastic service by DJ our waiter ,really was impressed by his customer care service, his friendly personality and professionalism. His willingness to go the extra mile to make me feel comfortable while having lunch by putting up a screen so I could remove my nikab and enjoy ocean basket. This restaurant recently went HALAL. It is very convenient if you working or living around Gateway. The finishes are interesting. It is wheelchair accessible. there is indoor and outdoor seating. We somehow managed to keep the cost under R200 per person which is incredible (I didn't count the kids and included drinks). The portions were large that we took home and had another round. The flavours were simple but good. There are rest rooms. There is also a prayer facility. Place was clean. there was very Good service from very kind waiters and greeters on the way in. I feel I will be going again.

Tasty fish yummy fish. Overall I think the grilled fish tastes better than the fried fish. The salmon is exceptionally good. The various sauces they provide including the garlic sauce is also amazing. The prawns are juicy and filled with flavor. Highly recommend!

Great fresh food. The starters were excellent and the main course was even better. I really enjoyed the different drinks that we tried out . Highly recommended. Will definitely be back. Gael really looked after us and was super professional and cool

Visited Ocean Basket at Gateway on 16 July. There is an Ocean Basket in our local mall but i'd much rather drive to Gateway. The food was awesome 👌 There wasn't much of a wait despite it being quite busy. Drinks were also awesome. Not filled with ice like in most establishments.

It was a weekend to visit some OB in Durban. Gateway great 👍 store, clean friendly staff. Meal was great. Manager in store was great looking after his customers 😀.

Sushi is a Japanese dish. I don't know why it's too famous in SA. We noticed many Sushi Bars in SA cities. I wanted to try it. Yeah.... Just wanted to try it and than wanted to have some proper sea food. We were roaming around in Gateway Mall Durban and slotted Ocean Basket...I ordered Sushi it was good... After that I orders sea food platter which included all. Overall ...I loved the platter. It was too much for a single person. But than I don't believe in wasting food so I had to finish it all. I also had one entire bottle of some Je Roux sparkling wine. Overall the good was good. Service was good...but than service should be good as they always accpet 10% of bill as tip. We had a nice food and some nice wine at this place..over all I liked it

Gael had assisted us with our meals and his service was outstanding such a pleasant gentlemen with a smile and gave us such warm hospitality. Thank u Gael for ur amazing work very few waiters like you hope to have u help us going forward. Have a good nyt

Amazing food, great atmosphere but the best experience at Ocean Basket Gateway was our Waiter, DJ. He was friendly, on the ball and overall just the most genuine person. Would definitely request for him on our next visit!!!

We got there during the lunch rush sunfe its now halal but service was amazing very nice waiter his name was sudesh he had the food out in 10 mins flat and the food was amazing way better than pavillion
