Had an amazing lunch here with friends. The service was great and the food was good. I ordered the seafood platter for one and everything was done really well. It is HALAL, so no alcohols were served, much to the disappointment of my friends. The waiting time for the food was moderate given what we ordered so we had no issues with it. Overall, it was a good service and our waiter kept checking to make sure we were satisfied.

Food really good! It’s Muslim so no pork, the oysters are local so don’t expect they taste like the French oysters 🦪😹😹 the calamari 3 ways cooked was very yummy! Ps please don’t walk back to the hotel as we did after dark!! It’s a big No❗️No❗️

Despite it being a quiet day, my visit was excellent and I couldn't expect better food or services. I just wanted to order more and more. My waitress was in training and she handled my visit like a professional who has been waitressing forever! I am thoroughly impressed. I wanted to have the chef do my meal preparation at home every day...but OB has him under contract ... I will certainly be back for more of the best of the best. Well done team 💯🌊

A good experience with friendly staff who are not in your face but also attentive when needed. Prices are standard ocean basket prices. The food is well prepared however the muscles were a little cold so I have my concerns for later tonight (review will be changed depending on reaction to the muscles).
Pitty alchohol is not served but its not a deal breaker. Adequate parking is available however it might fill up rather quick.
Overall a good stop and pleasant eating experience.

The table next to us made a big fuss and LOUDLY complained to the waiter and manager of the restaurant about the service and the food. Clearly that was not the case, as we had the same meals that arrived at the same time. The prawns was cooked perfectly soft and the food was not drowned in the famous garlic-butter sauce, just the right amount. (The sauce wasn’t “too salty” nor the prawns “overcooked” and “rubbery”). Thank you too all the staff, especially the mothers, working hard on a busy Mother’s day.

Ask for Andile, im sure the others give just as great service but she was awesome. On of the many positives, i asked for 2 glasses of water, she brings a liter in a bottle and a bowl of ice. To some its logic, but that logic, not many servers have.

We were served by Jonathan who was really welcoming, sincere and warm. Not surprisingly the food was flavorful and the service was informative, attentive and friendly. <br/>We had high expectations and we were delighted. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. Keep it up!<br/>

My go to place for sushi!!! Always done perfectly and fresh, love the variety of sushi and drinks menu! Haloumi fried is always a winner, I recently tried the fish soup but it's not for me 😂 fish in soup tastes weird but then again it's mild, I prefer evrything hot. Overall good food and service, will keep coming back for sushi 💖

Popped into the fish basket for some lunch and had the pick of the ocean meal.Ive had the meal b4 and its always been good just a pity they have reduced the amount of prawnsfrom 5 to 3...but still good value for money and tasty...extra 0.5 is for the lovely view from the restaurant

Ocean basket is usually a safe bet for good prawns and I love their lemon butter like you won't believe. This one was ok as far as they go, the experience wasn't one to write home about and the service was very slow for a Sunday evening.

I went to Ocean Basket, North Beach today. I didn't even get seated. We waited for 15 minutes and no one bothered to seat us. Bear in mind, the place was not busy and there were people standing at the front desk chatting up a storm. We were completely ignored.

Very poor service. Takes forever to get a waitron's attention. Poor food quality (mussels). Also takes away chips when not yet finished. Not returning....ever. Also nothing decadent about the milkshake which was rather bland.

It is okay if you are feeling for seafood and in the area. The food is okay, a few times my order arrived warm rather than hot. The staff were friendly. It can get rather noisy. The place is right across the beach so if offers a great view. I had the prawns and calamari combo and a friend had the platter for 1.

So this is one of the best ocean basket restaurants I've been to. The food is done to perfection and always served on time. However service was abit delayed due to the volume of customers. A good place for a family lunch or dinner.

Three colleagues and I stopped by Ocean Basket for dinner on the first night of a recent business trip and we enjoyed our meal. <br/><br/>Between us, we tried sushi, calamari, hake and prawns, and the quality was lovely. Also, considering how busy the restaurant was, we received fantastic service from our waitron. Lastly, being on Marine Parade, it's right across the road from the ocean, so I imagine the view from the restaurant during the day and at sunset is gorgeous!

With the branch under new management and a major facelift, I decided to pay them a visit after over a year. The food has certainly improved and I'm happy to see they now serve sushi as well. <br/><br/>Unfortunately the Sushi is just not up to par for me and I still find service to be an issue. I feel that the waiters are not trained properly because the moment there is a crowd they struggle. <br/><br/>The coffee is dishwater and they should take it off the menu if they can't carry out a decent cappuccino. Chai latte was good though!<br/><br/>Great new look and layout, spaced much better now and the food is better than before. I won't be going back though, the lack of service ruins it for me. Sad because I live down the road!
