Review Arts Cafe - Durban

We were given attention almost immediately after entering the Cafe and were greeted with smiles. Our food arrived quickly after placing our order and was still warm and fresh. I highly recommend their avocado on ciabatta, the tomato relish also adds such lovely flavor to the meal. What a lovely and relaxing experience.

Love going here! Regularly visit to see new instillations. Absolutely loved the last one that I visited. Must say I really enjoyed the little printed copies we were given of a few of the pieces, just a perfect extra touch. The cafe is absolutely lovely. So many options, whether you want lunch or just drinks or coffee and cake. Such friendly staff. There's also a little gift store with so many little gems, great gifts! There's a secondhand book stall that is just outside the building that is absolutely incredible. So many books at great prices. Really a great trip for anyone, perfect for a date or a day out with friends and family.

WOW! It was my first time visiting the KZNSA Arts Cafe and it was a full package! Not only was the food good-(chicken pasta + burgers), but the live music and overall look and feel is a complete vibe! Definitely would like to visit again, highly recommend you visit!

In our endless search for good coffees we are often faced with the multiplicity of definitions of what a flat white and cappuccino are. Thankfully Arts Cafe puts what they mean by this in their menu. And so we ordered the cappuccino- which according to us is a flat white - but now we knew what we were getting. The coffee was great and paired with a definitely-to-share chocolate cheesecake was a great combo.

Such a peaceful space to be in. I'm occasionally coming here to work and it boasts being one of the most productive spaces to work. The open ness of the space combine with friendly staff, feels like home.

Very literally the BEST avo on ciabatta toast in South Africa. Have it on a balmy morning in the courtyard with a newspaper or book and you'll be starting your day perfectly. This cost R40.

Lovely spot for a relaxing lunch. Almost all the meals are under R100. I especially love the Spanish coffee infused with cinnamon and orange peel.

Excellent coffee, delicious food and a great place for kids. Decent variety on the menu. Parking is normally not an issue and it is pram and wheelchair friendly. Pop into the shop and the gallery on the way out to check for any goodies. Perfect spot for lazy breakfasts. 👍đŸ’Ș

A landmark of KZN and Durban, an absolute must-go for travellers and locals alike. Fantastic breakfast and lunch fare and amazing coffee drinks. Fresh food cooked to perfection, including Eggs Benedict/Onassis. Kiddos love the outdoor play area, and childminders are on duty from 9am on the weekends. My family spends many hours each week here!

Lovely cafe, beautiful setting, simple menu with delicious and fresh meals. Service is a bit slow, only because this cafe is very busy.

Divine falafel burger with crisp fluffy chips. Beautiful courtyard under the trees. Friendly service. Gallery and shop always interesting to pop into.

One of my favorite places to lunch in Durban. The outside area is leafy and serene, and although their service is a bit slow, their food is simple and tasty. I particularly like their courgette, pepper and corn cakes with guacamole and feta, and their hot chips are also delicious. The falafels in their falafel burger are a bit soggy, but overall it is tasty.

A firm favorite in the heart of Glenwood. I have not been here in a few years, but had the opportunity to pop in for breakfast this last Sunday, As always, it did not disappoint. The location is very peaceful and serene. The set up is simple and neat. The Staff are very friendly and efficient. The Menu is not extensive, but it covers quite a variety of tastes. The presentation of the food was on point, very impressive, and the food itself was just delicious. I had the corn cakes, which hit the spot. Portion sizes are very decent and the pricing is very reasonable. Definite value for money. I hope to visit again the next time I'm in Durban.

Told myself I would explore the cafes in the area but I just keep coming back. Awesome setting, incredibly reasonable and crazy delicious vegetarian dishes. Marrow, peppers and sweet corn cakes and for real the most yummy thing ever. THANK YOU ARTS CAFE!

KZN art cafe is the perfect place for a quick breakfast or a light lunch. The menu isn't too extensive but what is on the menu is really good and you dint even have to wait too long. While you wait though, you can take a look at the art on display or pop into the craft arts stores. Awesome little cafe in a nice relaxed, definitely worth trying out

What a find! Friendly, efficient service; great menu with unusual options; and interesting artworks to admire. I chose the vegetable corn cakes with a poached egg - a fantastic food experience! Good coffee too.

Perfect café with a wonderful ambience, the art gallery is a definite must see. The food was delicious and the portions were adequate. The menu is not vast but had lovely options for vegetarians, meat lovers and banters. This café is also great for families with young children, there is an outside garden area with a designated child minder. Lovely spot for a quick lunch!

A long-time favourite for lunch, Arts Café is at its best in clear weather, with a great garden area that appeals even in winter.

My dining partner opted for a burger complete with bacon and avo, which she proclaimed to be excellent. I liked the sound of falafels which was offered as a burger but asked for it without the bread roll. (I love falafels, but couldn’t quite get my head around them on a white bread roll.) No problem at all.

My meal hit the spot! The falafel were light and well spiced, with a side dish of tahini, and the salad was laden with feta and red peppers and dressed with a rich pesto. And the chips were top class. Yes, I know that chips aren’t exactly traditional with falafel, but I did order this off the burger menu!

Very good service and I'm impressed to see that Arts CafĂ© is doing their little bit for the environment too – they no longer offer patrons straws with their cold drinks.

An added benefit of lunch at the Arts CafĂ© is the really good gallery. This time, it was a ceramic exhibition. There’s also a great gift shop. So if you're heading to Arts CafĂ©, build in a little extra time to browse.

I enjoyed the setting and the space of the place. The food could have been better in terms of taste but everything else was visually pleasing and up to par.

There's nothing that appeal to me more than dining in an open space, surrounded by nature, it's so relaxing and refreshing, and Arts Cafe does that for me, great for quick bite while you catch up on some work, then go inside the gallery to appreciate fine art, and stop by the curio shop on your way out to buy some souvenir.

Isn't that a perfect eatery? đŸ‘ŒđŸŸ

There is just something about this place that I really love maybe its the arts & craft vibe around. Super laid back and one of my best spots to grab a bite and catch up on some work.Really great service from the staff.

Breakfasts are great, varied and generous portions served. They are open on Sundays from 8:30am. Good young art vibe. Had the courgette corn cakes with a poached egg #yummy

Lovely relaxed ambiance. The waitress was really friendly and happy to assist where needed. She recommended the eggs Benedict (which I was delighted to find that they do single portions) and man was she right! The hollandaise sauce was creamy and perfectly flavoured, my poached egg was cooked to my EXACT specifications and the Parma ham was a lovely twist. I'm already dreaming about the food I saw being taken to other customers whilst I was there! Definitely will go back, and the prices were really great!

Actually went there to admire some art and stepped into a whole different world... A gallery, a little shop with all kinds of bits and bobs and a cute restaurant set up with a skilled barista. Didn't eat anything but had a Blondi which is a coffee with white chocolate... Yum yum... The art is also worth it.

The café at the KZN art gallery is a beautiful delicate spot in Glenwood. I love sitting outside under the huge Jacaranda trees. The food is fresh and clean cut - perfect for a hot day. I had the Harissa chicken on SOFT ciabatta - a refreshing change up. My friends tucked into the croissant burger and aubergine brushetta. The food was lovely, well priced and the quality of ingredients was above par. Unfortunately the service was not the best, but the food made up for it. Cherry on top had to be the fudge brownie with ice cream and almonds, it was rich, moist and absolutely delicious!

It was my first time going to this restuarant, it was for my friends baby shower. We were seated outside which was lovely they also have face painting for the kids, we ordered platters which we were delicious. The service was excellent with the waiters being very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back.

Service leaves a lot to be desired. Food presentation not really happening either. Coffee is good so really only visit if you want a coffee and cake.
