Review Dropkick Murphy's - Durban

The food is prepared well and tasty although very oily. The service is good. They are well prepared for load shedding so that didn’t affect our order. The outdoor setting is nice.

We had such an awesome end of year party here! Must say from the moment I started planning with the manager, Dean, ro the day of the event, everything was just so easy! We got everything we hoped for & their staff really managed to keep a group of over 50 ladies so happy! The food was really great & even on a Thursday night, there was such a vibe!

Funny because I underestimated this restaurant passing by. But something drew me in and I'm in LOVE !!!! I kid you not, this is the best restaurant on Florida Road, Durban. Ambiance and service is top tier. The food we had was prepared very well and portion sizes are impressive. My lunch date with my best friend here was one of the best dates.

My friends and I were sooo excited to be having lunch here. We had researched restaurants in the area, and Dropkick Murphy's came up. We had an event in the area so we got to the restaurant at 11h30. They were closed and opening time was 12H00. The waiters were all prepared and ready to open so they allowed us in at 11H40. Which we were extremely grateful for as we were exhausted from playing Clued up Games and walking all over the Florida Road Area. The waitress was very friendly. First up we had to try their Apricot Red Bull Cocktails. It was one of the tastiest cocktails I ever tasted. So compliments to the Bartender. And exactly what my friends and I needed. Our food items were Chicken Tacos. The pulled Beef sliders. The Chicken Doughnuts. And the mozzarella sticks. All our food items were prepared well and were extremely tasty. It was a very relaxed and chilled atmosphere. Definitely will be returning ☺️.

This is a nice with green gears all over with a swing . The most thing that attracted me to this it giving overseas vibes and the “ Be Amazing” tag

Great place to visit with in a group or with a friend. The late hours set this place apart from most. Great music. Great ambience. Draft beers are great 🍻 but could be colder please. I'm yet to visit again for a fuller experience and will update this review.

What a lovely place, good value for money and food is so fresh and delish

Great ambience. Kitchen closes around 21:00 so we had to head out to Steers down the road for something to chow. Appreciated the extensive drink selection. Service was good. Seating is slightly uncomfortable...more so for me as I have lower back issues. Washroom facilities were relatively neat and clean. Parking is obviously an issue if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Best enjoyed with a group of friends.

Food is alright for a standard dinner or lunch , just basic items but not too bad at what they do ,their drink options and atmosphere is what people mainly go here for as they have a few screens to watch the rugby or soccer on .

We are Drop Kick regulars and have been for many years. When we go there we always ask for Debbie to serve us because she knows exactly what we want and her service is excellent! If you go to drop kicks - definitely ask for Debbie! You will enjoy your time there and make a friend too. Such a legend!

We had a really enjoyable meal here. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh ingredients are beautifully combined. The service was efficient and easy going. Will definitely return :)

Drop kicks is a pub with atmosphere and taste. The food is proper pub food (we built our own board) and is almost always vibey without being over crowded. Truely an all week round chilled Experiance

The place was alright, the place’a lighting was bad. The inside smells very bad. There are no long tables to accommodate big crowds. <br/><br/>The menu is very limited and there isn’t clear prong on some of your items.

Atmosphere is decent, always packed and lively. But I really don't understand why the R49 cocktails come out of a bottle? Like come on, my homies.

The food was incredible! . Great service . Although reservations should be made for customers that require a table for later on in the evening especially on weekends and a friendly atmosphere<br/>

Food was good, good flavours. Staff are super friendly and Abit slow and forgot about us quiet often or to bring something we needed. Big variety of beers.

Had a lovely time at their weekly pub quiz, which takes place every Monday. The atmosphere and interior are great, the pina colada cocktail was delicious (if not very ostentatiously presented), and I loved their falafel burger and chips. Pro tip - order their cheese and garlic sauce, it is the perfect complement to the chips. Great place to grab drinks and typical pub grub with friends.

The vibe is amazing. The waiters are so attentive. Customer service was immaculate and the food....well all I had was the Durban loaded fries and I was on cloud nine. The cocktails were tasty and I loved the way they were served. Now I know why this place is always packed. I will definitely be back.

Even though you can usually find dropkicks teeming with people on a Friday or Saturday night, I feel as if their afterwork vibe is surprisingly far more enjoyable. You can usually expect a host of interesting people, which combined with the setting sun makes for a super mellow evening.<br/><br/>In terms of the food: I’m yet to have an actual meal here; but the “small meals” I’ve tried don’t really get me excited

Just went here for a drink one evening and from my experience that night, I can say that this place is worth the visit! The atmosphere is an old meets new vibe, set in an old house with black and copper everywhere! The selection of drinks were great and the food looked good too!

Went to this place for the first time yday and was impressed. We opted to try a few options from the starters menu. We had the loaded potato skins - delicious wedges with crispy skin and fluffy potato topped with crispy bacon and cheese; the hot chicken wings which had a nice spicy kick to it and the bang bang shrimp which was deliciously crunchy. We also tried the philly chilli cheese steak which was packed with flavour and huge so perfect for sharing.To cool off we had the craft carbonated cocktails which were refreshing and yummy. A very cool surprise was the jet chilli which comes in 2..we tried the truth serum...a very fun drink ( see pictures). The service was excellent with drinks and food arriving very fast. Florida Road has a great overall vibe. Murphy's is a good spot for a pub type lunch . They have a great drinks selection offering a wide range of wines, cocktails and shooters. The additional seating upstairs for bookings makes it a great place to get the whole gang together. <br/>

Let's get down to business: they had jalapeño poppers! But sorry...they don't make the cut, maybe if they had a different batter it could make the top 5. Anyway, It's quite a vibe here, we felt like some pub food after rugby & it was kind of alright. It seemed like a busy night but I feel they were a bit under staffed. Our table didn't get cleaned, our menus stayed on the table...our bacon bits were burnt, my philly cheese steak was bland as hell, our waiter disappeared (but like I said, busy night and seemed like only 2 waiters on the floor) waiters were super friendly though. Maybe on a quieter night it could be good?

Popped in to have lunch at Drop Kicks and had a burger with cambert cheese and marmalade onion. Patty was well prepared and had lovely taste...all in all good Burger joint 🙂

A friend and I came in for the 12-3pm special..chicken salad or burger with chips with a choice of either mango,cranberry, orange and apple juice and we both really enjoyed it! Such a great special . Our bill came to less than R100!

I usually have a blast at Drop Kicks but was very disappointed yesterday (02/01/2016) at around 4pm. No sign of waitrons, only to go inside and find staff taking selfies. Waited till selfies were over to get served only to find no stock of many items. Service improved later on but could not stand being ignored at the start when I could see staff either sitting around or staying inside and out of sight.

Awesome vibe and great drinks. Especially like their lemonade. Have had delicious food here but was very disappointed by their falafel burger, very think and doughy

Aaaah guys, this place is always awesome. Never had a bad experience here, the crowd is always on point, the food is great and the drinks get poured quick... What more do you need.

This spot is awesome to kick  back an relax with friends. Their food is to die for, the taste is surprisingly good considering its pub food.Its locate don a busy road so parking may be an issue.The service is goodThe place gets a bit rowdy because of patrons sometimes.

Very very busy on a Friday night. We went there the weekend of a rugby test match so there were a lot of Vaalies in the area which led to them running out of both brandy and rum at the bar.... Nonetheless was pretty cool.

So I took myself out on a lunch date... Yes, I went out alone. My friend thinks I'm weird for having these "dates" but I honestly love them !<br/><br/>The food was okayish, the service was okayish [considering the fact that the waitress got my order wrong] the company was AMAZING 😂 I overall enjoyed my date with myself !

What a laid back environment to catch drinks with friends and have some hearty chow to go along with it. I've been here a couple times with friends, and it is always bustling and bursting with energy. They make a mean burger and great sliders. Very yum!

Im crazy in love with this place the pub and grill atmosphere here is impeccable , the food is just tops it off. The drinks are mind blowing and the prices are just right .

The problem with hiring young staff is that they are frequently more interested in their cell phones than their customers .. Wasn't busy on Thursday evening but was not welcomed or greeted when entering and could not catch the waitresses eye .. BOTH of them were looking at their cell phones - at the bar we had no luck and before we left another table walked out without service - a bad night ? Not sure but waitresses should not be allowed cell phones during service !!

Great vibe. Menu isn't the biggest but really good blt salad! The inside has a really cool old world feel. Our waiter made us feel a bit rushed so that wasn't great but he was friendly and attentive. Wish they had regular Tabasco sauce but that was one small negative. Overall it was a good night out. Really love the laid back vibe!

Murphys is one of the better bars to visit of Florida Road these days. Vibrant atmosphere with the music not being overwhelmingly loud. The truth serum and love potion are novelties of the place but if you're looking for a good selection of draught beer and pub grub, it most definitely will not disappoint. Good, friendly service but at times abit slow (this is generally what happens at banging locations). A must see destination if your in Durban for a holiday

Always a good venue for ending the week off with friends or even a quick midweek meet up. Can get a bit clustered if you're looking to sit down. Food is great, bar has a wide selection of craft beers, and generally just a good atmosphere.

Well i know zomato is a food app - but this was worth a mention. This place is awesome for afterwork drinks and the happy special combined with the free popcorn doesnt hurt!

Really do enjoy the food at this place. Great bar food but the way in which they plate unique and always refreshing! Food tastes great and the service is okay.

I love this restuarant the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I went there with my cousin for the 30% off burgers and drinks. One of my favourite spots in Durban will always recommend it.

The vibe is very relaxed and chilled. It was very busy yet there was only 2 waiters on the floor making service a little slow. However the food was amaze!!! Those burgers are just delicious!! If you looking for a beer and burger this is the place !!

Dropkick's is one of my favourite hangouts when in Durban. The design of Dropkick's is really cool and the vibe is awesome. The food is pub style but it is done really well. An absolute must for a meal and some sundowners.

Love the renovated Victorian houses turned bars along Florida Road. We had a very welcoming ginger beer vodka cocktail, but the Bowl 'o bacon and Mozarella sticks are literally something to write home (or a review) about 😁 I'm only in Durbs for 4 days but I will try go back just for those starters!

Really enjoyed the atmosphere at Murphy's. But that's only the beginning. The food is delicious yet not too heavy. Perfect for a laidback evening out with mates.

Their potato skins are great, not to mention their burgers! Very cool place on the strip in Durban for some chow and drinks when you find time to get off the beaches. Always lively and a jol to be had.<br/>

Awesome food! Definite favourite are their burgers. Build your own with pretty much every topping you can think of. Personal favourite is definitely their chicken burger with blue cheese. For the not so faint hearted the cup of bacon is a definite winner as are their variety of boards. Craft beers are in abundance and for the ladies the strawberry and lime craft cider is a definite must!
