Review Rj's Famous Rib Steakhouse - Durban

You know the food is going to be amazing when there’s a queue to enter and it’s not lunch or dinner time as yet !! The flavours of the steak was amazing Juicy and tender, my mother in law ordered the hake and she loved it it was soft and succulent with a burst of flavour as well As for my burger …. I have no words I normally do not finish the entire burger but I could not stop devouring this one!!! Hats off to this establishment and it’s friendly waiters Our waiter was Q. And he has a really friendly personality, I was amazed at how he remembers our orders to detail without noting a thing down !! 😅 truly skilled

It is a nice place, the tables are big. The food was nice, my 19-month-old son enjoyed his big portion Margherita pizza. The base was very soft, and the cheese was generous. He wouldn't put his bubblegum milkshake down. I had chicken nachos, and I'm glad they weren't made with Doritos chips. The service from our waitress was not good. My friend and I had brought our toddlers with. We wanted to grab a bite before going to the playhouse. There were enough saucers and cutlery to cater for 6 people. She did not bother to clear the table. We had to push all of them to one side of the table. We asked for feeding chairs, and she brought one while there were two toddlers who couldn't reach the table when seated on the couch or chair. We had to ask for another one. She did not wipe off the crumbs that were on the feeding chairs. She brought out the milkshake, and it was in a tall glass, I asked her for a shorted tumbler (kids glass), and she said they didn't have. She then gave me a plastic takeaway one, which was fine because I didn't have to wipe half of the milkshake off the feeding chair. My hand was already sticky from wiping the constant spill with serviettes that were on the table. This was the only good thing about having all the cutlery and saucers on the table. I noticed that on other tables, there were candles to ward off flies except for our table. When it was time to leave, she made a comment in isiZulu; "Now you know not to bring the children with you." I did not tip.

Tasty meals...good service..well priced..variety of meals..very big portions...

We had crumbed mushrooms and calamari as a starter and the yummiest Ferrero milkshake!!! Mains were delicious, the most succulent steak I've had in Durban! 10/10 the anticipation for this steak was worth as this family establishment is always busy busy, now I understand why

Went for a staff breakfast meeting. The food was good, but the ladies could do with slightly better customer service. One of our cups was dirty, and the lady looked irritated when we asked her to change it. Didn't quite like the Chai latte as it had a nutty, almond after taste. Nice place otherwise Went for lunch on Sunday, 08 Nov 2022, as a 2nd chance type thing, and was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed my chicken schnitzel, and Onyi was a top waiter.

The service was excellent. Prices are steep but well worth it for the quality and quantity of food. All steaks ordered were cooked as per requested. The flavours were amazing. To quote my husband "Its life changing!" 😄 Our server was well acquainted with the menu and made excellent recommendations. The creme brulee, waffles and chocolate volcano (lava cake) were fantastic.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant for a delicious steak. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. On previous occasions I have always ordered the Jalepeno steak and it is still my go to meal. This time I ordered the Empire Blast and they did not disappoint. The cheesy sauce is divine. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a good steak.
