Review Jeera - Durban

The buffet was great. Delicious curries, some English items and lots of cakes for dessert. I do think that the offering on the deserts needs improvement because there are mostly cakes and Pavlova's. Maybe Ice cream machine and some cold tarts would suffice. Overall good experience. Nice ambience..

Beautiful experience at the high tea. The chefs welcome the guests and inform you about what's being served. Lovely array of teas. You can doggie bag the items you don't end up eating. There is alot to eat with fresh ingredients.

Had Sunday lunch at Jeera on the 19.11.23. Our waiter was great good service however I did forget his name. The food was good. The menu at jeera is however limited and a wider veg option will be lovely.. Great atmosphere maybe some soft music in the background would be nice..but we had a chilled lunch.

One of the nicest Mutton Bunny chows in Durban for 2018. Flavourful and soft cooked meat. The additional gravy on the side elavates the taste to another level. However, soft drinks are really expensive.

Amazing first experience here and I will visit this restaurant again. Their bunnies won the 2018 best bunny competion which is the reason for our choice at the restaurant. Lamb bunny was delicious and filled with gravy and flavour. Has a mild heat taste in the mixed veg bunny which was ordered as well. Both have a great flavour profile which was enjoyed by everyone at the table. Prices are worth it which were r65 for the lamb with the veg being r45. Other special dishes include butter chicken, trotters and seafood both in a bunny or with rice.

So here's my take. I have a feeling the staff are under trained and probably not treated well by management. They seem timid and unsure of themselves. They have not had much customer service training it would seem. We sat outside at a table that had not been reset the waitress did not notice when she brought our food and so we had no cutlery or condiments. I get the feeling they have taken a beating because of the bad reviews or maybe they don't get time off. But something isn't right here. As for the food the bunny chow was decent. More meat I have ever had in a bunny. Nice sambals pickled carrots. Overall I was satisfied with food. It's 17 December I am sure they are working from about 5am breakfast service starts 6am to 10pm its a long day!!

Excellent supper buffet. Good variety of indian food, as well as a stirfry station where you can choose your own ingredients. The resturant has a cosy feel.

Jeera at Suncoast. Ordered a veg dish: sugar beans and potato curry served with rice, roti and sambals paired with Nederberg Noble sweet wine. A step up from home made bean curry. Really delish, tasted good, the sweet wine faired well with the heat of the beans. Service was great, staff very friendly, adequate levels which was great when checking in as you dined. Would definately recommend it if you are visiting durban and looking for a light meal that's still filling and wanting to dine in.
