The Oriental Restaurant - Durban - Photo album

When I visit Durban, KwaZulu Natal, I have to follow a family tradition and go to The Oriental Restaurant. They used to be at The Workshop in the heart of the city. They may have relocated, but the flavors have remained consistent. I've always had the same order: their famous Mutton Bunny Chow with
Was feeling for a Orientals mutton bunny. And boy it did not disappoint. Awesome tasting bunny, sojee and keer was divine 😋. To top it off was delivered to me all the way in Illovo beach. That's 5stars from me..
Orientals Restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best dining establishments in Durban! The restaurant never fails to impress, and the food is consistently amazing. However, the standout dish has to be their crab curry. It is simply the best curry I have ever tasted, and I am a self-proclaimed curry a
I once visited The Oriental back when it was at The Workshop - I always tell everyone who will listen, that they had served the best Bunny Chow I had ever tasted. Now that it's at Galleria Mall, we tried the mixed platter for dinner which was absolutely delicious. We loved it so much, the second ti
Visited on a Friday midday. Was quiet busy, but we were seated and attended to promptly. The take away patrons formed a small line at the store, adding to its popularity. We opted for the junior T bone steak and chips, and a quarter lamb bunny, which they are apparently famous for.We had to. (Would
A very well spiced mutton bunny chow. Good pieces of meat, fresh bread. Good service from the gentleman serving us. There are renovations being done currently in the vicinity that should be completed soon
If you love a breyani full of flavour....get it from these guys. We go to Durban every month and this is our first stop. They also make excellent mutton bunny chow.
I simply love Oriental for a good mutton curry. I always opt to sit inside the restaurant and not at the takeaway. Ask for uncle Collin, who will provide you with exceptional service! My usual order is boney mutton curry with basmati rice, a delicious bunny that’s dripping with gravy (be sure to req
Visited this place after Year's and was not disappointed at all. Fresh hot spicy mutton curry Bunny Chow, which all of us indulged in. The wide array of salads and amazing fresh taste of the pickles really enhanced the spicy kick of the bunny chow. It was very filling and I didn't have much space
The best mutton bunny! Delicious, Halaal and well sized portions. Meat is tender. Seating area is available. The area is clean and service is good.
Very good Indian food. Casual place. Food tasty and service was good. Halaal so no alcohol is served although non alcoholic cocktails are on the menu. Portions of food are very generous. Frequented by locals which is always a good indication of authentic local cuisine, for visitors and tourists.
Mutton biryani and kheer was delicious! Please open a branch in Ballito, the area needs one desperately.
Had an amazing breyani and bunny chow. We know Durban has thee most tasty curries in SA!
The Restuarant is nice and revamped since my last visit a few years ago. The best prawn bunny and prawn curry I had. Seating is spacious and the place is clean. Some waiters are great and friendly while some need to learn to smile.
